Prologue / Trailer

Background Music.

She looked down in to the hallway, a blank expression on her face. The light she had just turned on permitted a pitiful amount of light to enter the house, as every other had been turned off. Two bodies lay in front of her, her fingers suddenly losing all usefulness as she dropped her bag, the light thud echoing into the night. She fell to her knees, gripping at the wall for balance; her head spinning, her eyes never wandering from the horrific sight. There wasn't any signs of injuries, there wasn't any sign of a struggle at all, and yet there they were; her own mother and father dead, laying next to the staircase, their eyes rolled back in to their heads and their limbs in an unnatural manner.

She took her time assessing the situation, wondering what had happened and why it had happened to her family. Her body was so racked with surprise that she hadn't even the urge to cry, to shed a tear, to mourn the murder of her parents. Leaning her head down in to their legs, she gripped them, and let out a hoarse breath, choking on the thought of what was occurring.

The sound of movement from upstairs then took her attention as she shot her head up, seeing a dark silhouette from the second floor appear at the top of the stairs, a hand moving towards the bannister. Picking up the bag she had dropped moments before entering through the back door, she turned and sprinted over her steps. Once at the back door, she grasped the handle open and then, on impulse, took off again into the garden where she thought she could escape through its gate. A padlock stopped her from leaving as easily as she wanted to get away, her eyes weeping from the adrenaline, her heart pounding beneath her breasts. She clawed at the fence, willing her arms to allow her the strength to climb the obstacle. The sound of the back door being opened gave her all the motivation she needed as she stepped back, taking a small running start and pulling herself over the fence. Dropping to the other side she ran out on to an open field, taking a pathway down towards the dark woods, not looking back for fear of what would be chasing her in to the moonlight.

A wolf howled from the woods afar, as she ran through the field, not daring to look back in to the shadows that trail her. The moon shines reflects it's light across her path, it's shimmer as if watching her each and every step. Beads of sweat slowly creep down the temples of the adolescent woman, as her pace quickens. Not knowing the path in front of her, she reaches a fence, and a look of horror sweeps across her shadowed face; she looks behind, and ducks just in time, as the sound of metal against wood echoes out around the field. Some form of steel had been implanted in to the same fence that the woman stood a moment ago; she hadn't hesitated in immediately getting back to her feet and sprinting away as fast as she could ..

The darkness was creeping in now, as a thick swarm of clouds started to filter away the only guiding light that she had left. Her feet stung within her shoes, and her thighs were ready to give way at any moment. But she would not falter, she would not be caught, she would not be a victim. The very essence of survival was pushing her to carry on, willing her to keep going, hoping that she would make it out of this place .. Her foot caught something on the floor. She fell hard, her forehead bouncing back up from the unforgiving ground that she was hurtled down against. She tried to catch her breath, and her lungs pressed hard against her chest, as she inhaled deeply over and over again. The simplest movement in her legs brought about sheer and excruciating pain, as her limbs tightened, resisting any form of mobility.

She turned towards the darkness, eyes wide in horror, not knowing what was behind her or where it was now. The grass around her whistled as a gust of wind shot by her, as her very heart and soul started to sink. The faint scent of the flowers that embedded themselves around her body gave off a calming fragrance, her heart starting to beat slower as the darkness brought no danger forward.

The woman's head shot back, almost thudding against the cold field again. Though her head did not fully touch the ground, as the metal shaft prodruding from the back of her head gave her cranium an incline and resting place. Her face still looked up at the same position, as a shadow emerged in front of her, seemingly assessing what had happened. The other side of the steel pole was expertly shot through her left eyeball, as the remains had been pushed back towards the brain. Very little blood protruded from the face; a pool had begun to seep through the back though, as the cracks in her skull provided the chance for a stream to begin it's way down the shaft, and form a river of crimson on to the hard mud below.

The figure turned and walked off in to the night, seemingly finding his work acceptable. The woman lay there, motionless ..
