The site of ancient chariot races and gladiatorial contests will host a gay pride parade starring none other than Lady Gaga because times change so get over it.
The U.S. Ambassador to Italy announced the earth-shaking news, saying Ms. Gaga has accepted the invitation to participate in the parade on June 11 in Rome's Circus Maximus – the closing event of 2011 EuroPride.
In a statement Monday, David Thorne said he is "very proud to have an Italian-American artist of her stature" come to the Italian capital, even though Gaga isn't that tall. He quoted U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as saying "human rights are gay rights and gay rights are human rights."
Gaga, who dresses funny, was invited by Thorne and the local organizers of EuroPride, which takes place each year in a different European city.
