There was a loud scream. The sound filled the space that was previously still and silent. It broke the illusion that the garden was beautiful and pristine, a kind of Eden. Instead of being what would be the ideal location for a picnic or wedding, the scream had cast Destiny City Botanical Garden in a gloomy light. Roses that smelled sweet before now just seemed like a pile of thorns. The bright sunny garden seemed like a maze now. All because one lone person had screamed.
Morgan Everett was taking a well deserved nap on a bench. She had come to the gardens to admire the flowers and relief some stress from school finals. It was picturesque scene. A redhead in a white sundress laying on a bench amid flowers. But the scream had jolted the girl awake. Danger.
Soon, Sailor Circe was in her place and running along the winding path of the gardens. Where had that scream come from? Whatever had interrupted her beauty rest was going to pay… just as soon as she figured out exactly where she was going. Large shrubs and flower beds blocked her view; the garden really was maze like.

So much for a leisurely day.
Tony head the scream while he was strolling through the gardens, enjoying the flowers. He had been forced to take the day off due to his injury, his arm getting worse instead of better. It was resting in a sling now, still bound in a cast. They thought it was his refusal to stay home from work, and while his ethic was impressive he couldn't site that as the source of the aggravated wound.
The broken arm also happened to be his shield arm, and when he powered up he had to use it in the defense of helpless civilians. As he seemed he would have to now.
He powered up when no one was watching, though the gardens has been quiet anyway. The scream hadn't done much to draw attention of bystanders. Most people in the city had already learned to move away from the sounds of terror and pleas for help, rather than go toward them.
Most people were not Knights, of course.
Camelot hurried to see who might be in trouble, finding a youma while at the same time feeling a senshi in the area. Not in immediate sight, however. He would have to fight the thing on his own for now, and save the civilian responsible for the piercing scream.

It took Circe a few minutes to find her away to the scene. When she arrived, the senshi was surprised to see another powered individual, not a senshi. Something else, though clearly good.
The knight was already engaged in attempting to distract the youma from the girl. The youma was fairly ordinary looking, humanoid in appearance with no real defining characteristics only a shimmering body.
Circe stopped when she saw the Knight. Oh good, she thought. That made her work easy, or rather no work for her at all. Instead of joining the fight, Sailor Circe simply looked on. The knight had a strange way of carrying himself, as if he was already injured. Circe watched the scene in amusement, keen on seeing exactly how the old man was going to handle himself.

Camelot spotted the strange looking youma, and the girl nearby. He sensed the senshi, as well, though he still wasn't getting any help from whoever it was. Maybe they had been wounded, and were incapable of coming to the aid of the civilian or, now, the knight.
It was his job to make sure the youma didn't hurt anyone else, and to save those it had already wounded.
He was a bit dense, sometimes, when it came to fighting. He would leap into the fray and tell himself what he needed to do, then lose track of some of the details. Like taking a moment to casually glance around and notice that the senshi was not, in fact, injured like he imagined her to be. She was simply standing nearby, watching.
But he was too busy trying to defend her to notice.
"Over here, monster!" he called, and the youma looked at him. He braced himself, shield up and ready, tense but trying to remain focused and loose at the same time. He was getting more and more used to things like this, at least.
Fighting youma. Saving people.
This monster was strange, oddly human looking to what he was used to, but that wouldn't stop him. It couldn't. Could it? He knew it was a youma, and he would have to keep telling himself that.

This was a strange sight indeed! An older man, fighting off a monster to protect some civilian and perhaps even herself? Not that Circe, at this point, needed any saving. To the contrary, Circe was in fact, considering leaving the scene. The old knight seemed to have things under control.
The civilian had fainted from the shock of seeing a monster and terrorists in the otherwise serene location. She was lying on the ground, passed out. The strange youma gave off a light howl, as it did so, it’s form seemed to temporary vibrate and… did it’s form seem to shift for a moment!?
Circe’s eyes widened at the new twist with the youma. Though she still wasn’t going to intervene, she called out. “Old timer! That youma seems to be doing something strange.” Thank you, Captain Obvious.

Old timer?
Camelot looked around to spot the, obviously much younger, senshi nearby. He frowned at her, not much approving of her nickname for him, but he was glad she was there and not apparently hurt in anyway. That scratched his panic scenario, at least.
"Are you unharmed? Do you know what it's doing?" he asked, though her warning had been vague and hadn't alerted him to much more than what he was already seeing. Maybe she knew more than she was letting on?
In either case, he turned back to the youma as it was vibrating and seeming to shift. If it was going to do something, it was still too close to the civilian for Camelot's liking. he had to get over to her and make sure she was safely out of the way of the fight.
Charging forward, he moved to attack the youma in the hopes of driving it off and away from her unconscious form. She had been through enough, clearly, and needed to nap.

Circe rolled her eyes. Did she have to explain everything. “I don’t know! It’s … vibrating. Or something. All I know is I’m not sticking around to find out.” What did the girl look like? A youma expert?
Leave this mess to the old man, that was her plan. As far as Circe was concerned, this wasn’t a fight she needed to be a part of. The Page had things under control, sort of. Finding out exactly what that monster was about to do was not something she wanted to know.
Just as Circe made to move, the youma gave a piercing shriek. It sounded a bit like an ambulance siren zooming down a street. As it screamed, the vibrations sped up until the shimmery youma appeared to split and multiple. Before anyone could blink, both Circe and Camelot were surrounded by duplicates of the youma.
"More? ********. I'm getting out of here." Circe attempted to leap over the duplicate youma blockade but was met with a forceful blow to the stomach, knocking her back.

Camelot looked surprised and almost hurt by her attitude toward him. How rude. Clearly she was not one of the polite senshi. It made him wonder about her upbringing, and what her parents had let her get away with while growing up.
But now was not the time for a lecture on manners.
Surprised by the sudden sound, Camelot's hands flew up and he covered his ears, grimacing. He decided he shouldn't have, as suddenly there were youma all around him. And the senshi, he noted. At least there was that.
Now she had to help him, rude or not. Though, now he wasn't sure if he wanted whatever brand of help she deigned to give.
"Be careful!" Camelot yelped, seeing her getting struck. Instead of reveling in her getting hers, as his son might have done, he moved to her, lashing out against the youma, or the clone, or whatever it was. He wanted to hit it with his shield, in an effort to protect her.
"Are you alright?" He asked, though he couldn't look at her, he kept his eyes on all the clones, trying to figure out if he had to defeat each of them, or one. The real one. He almost hoped the latter, though he knew finding the right one might be tough. But it was better than hitting each one: his shield might not make it.

"Ugh." Circe scoffed at her mild injury. She ignored Camelot's attempt at helping her, stood up and dusted herself off. "I'm fine. I just want to get out of here."
The youma..s? seemed to dance and cackle in unison.
"These things are really starting to annoy me." Circe move, walking over to the other side to see if she couldn't get out over there. In moving, she more or less walked directly over the slumped over body of the civilian. To her, the civilian was just another obstacle in her way, they were passed out, so what did they really matter. They wouldn't notice Circe stepping over them.
"Molt Boost" Circe called out, and within a second, her body had a faint glow upon it, a light layer of protection from more attacks. She then made an attempt to push through the youma barrier, like a child trying to break through in Red Rover. But she was again, met without success. Circe was forcefully pushed back hard enough that she tumbled back into Camelot.

Camelot lifted his eyebrows in surprise.
He knew very well that not all senshi were nice. Even in a simple sense. They were sometimes rude, ill mannered to say the least, and sometimes they fought for things and reasons that didn't make sense to him. But he still wanted to protect them. The war was bigger than all of them, and they had to fight their way to keep themselves alive. And sane. Coping.
Though, he didn't think she needed to literally step on civilians...
He caught her when she stumbled back toward him, helping her right herself. "It seems our efforts aren't working. We'll have to figure out how to take the youma back down to one, if we can."
He looked around.
There had to be some way to attack more than one of the clones at once, his plan being that he hoped the youma would not be able to fight back if it was being hit more than once. He needed her to help him, though, as he couldn't pull it off alone.
Something told him, though, that she wasn't going to be too keen on the idea. Still, he had to pitch it. "Do you think you can hit at least two at once? I'll get two or three of my own."

Circe ungraciously accepted Camelot's helping her up. She dusted herself off and uttered a kurt thanks.
Back down to one... attacking multiple ones. She could barely escape and get through just one of those, things. "Obviously, that's what we have to do, if we can't get out." Circe sounded irritated, all she wanted to do was get out. There had to be a way out, a way to make this work for her.
"There's only one of me, how do you expect me to attack multiple ... things. I can barely tell where one starts and the other ends. Maybe if we used the civilian as a kind of..." Circe paused half way through her suggestion. The youmas made a sound like a high-pitched scream, as they did so, energy seemed to be sucked out from the civilian and the powered individuals. It caused Circe to stop and cover her ears. Her eyes darted back and forth from the circling youma and the civilian.
Then she noticed something. Something really weird. Only one youma actually had it's mouth open. Only one seemed to be making a hungry sucking motion. Circe nudged Camelot with an elbow.
"That one!" She gestured towards the one youma, though it was difficult to point it out due to the spinning. "There! The one with an open mouth." Then Circe said something unexpected. " Maybe if we both attack just that one at the same time, I can get off this youma merry-go-round."

Camelot frowned at her, though she had a point. It was kind of obvious what they had to do, but he still felt compelled enough to say it in case she had any ideas of abandoning him. At this point, he wouldn't be surprised.
He reminded himself to see the good in people. Especially senshi. There was more to this young woman than she was showing with her attitude and disinterest in the fight. Clearly it was all some cover up.
She was just as dedicated to saving lives and people as he was. Right? Not to mention others like them, and each other. Now that she was in this fight and had to work with him, she'd prove his hopse about her and all senshi right.
Or he was being hopelessly optimistic again.
"We are not using the civilian!" He protested immediately, thoughts and hopes dashed. Any further protest was cut off as he covered his ears on instinct, eyes darting over to the civilian. He made a mad dash for her, abandoning Circe quite suddenly, but it was for the greater good. He noticed the youma she was pointing out, but he had to get to the civilian first. Once he slid to the unconscious person's form he put his hands over their ears and shielded her with his own body as much as he could, eyes on the youma.
"I can hit it from here!" he yelled, pulling his shield from his arm. One good throw....

"I bet you can." Circe sound just a tiny bit sarcastic. Her perception of Camelot's was generally that he was a little lame, in more ways than one. She figured his odds were 50/50. Still, the redhead senshi gave a nod and took a leap at the one open mouthed youma. Her heeled boot hit the youma just above its waist.

Camelot frowned and did his best, throwing the shield and watching it as it slammed into the youma's head. It didn't look too happy about being hit twice, but the expression was only on its strange face for a fleeting moment before it burst into dust, its duplicates vanishing with it.
The knight of earth breathed a sigh of relief, stooping to check on the civilian once again. Still out, but breathing and with a steady pulse. Alive and well, by all accounts, though they would be very confused by the time they woke up.
Camelot stood, nodding.
"Thank you for the help. I would have been in a bit of a pickle if you hadn't been here. I'll call for some help for the civilian, and make sure she's taken care of."
For Camelot, the job didn't stop when the youma was dead or the trouble was gone. He always had to make sure any innocent who had been involved would be safe once he was gone. Not just unconscious in the street for someone else to find. Or in this case, the garden.

Circe coughed at the youma dust, then righted herself up. A hand wiped away sprinkles of dust from her fuku. All her own concern was for herself. “Finally.” Circe was elated to be free from the circling high pitched youma.
“You’re Welcome.” Even though the senshi was little help, and they two powered individuals had far different world views, Circe accepted praise and thanks in anyform. She had come to investigate the sound, she helped! Damn right he better thank her.
The teal sailor senshi made to leave, but that knight was still talking. She glanced over her shoulder to see him tending to the civilian. At least she didn’t have to do that, Camelot was basically letting her off the hook for having anything to do with the civilian, which how she liked it. “I’m sure they’ll be fine, I have important thing to attend to.”
By important, Circe meant putting on make up and checking herself for any damage. God forbid she power down and look like she was in any sort of tussle. Just like that, Circe bounded off without saying anything else, leaving Camelot and the civilian alone.
