 Start: NOW! Ends: Monday the 13th of June, at 9 PM BST. Hi and welcome to this basket contest XD Your hosts for today are Phail Ninja and Tygress Dream! Sakura and Adrian just had a lovely pair of baskets that we have decided to give away to newbies. Though we would like both owners to RP, we have decided to give one basket away via an RP contest and the other via a raffle. So... you know, even if you just try for the raffle please don't abandon the family DX RP is fun! Some Rules((Yes, we know you hate them, and hate reading them. But they're here for a reason!)) 1. Follow all Gaia/Shop rules 2. Tyg and I get final say on who gets the baskets, so no causing drama 3. You can try for both baskets, but may only win one 4. For the RP basket, you do not need to RP both the male/female perspectives, but perhaps give us a brief idea of personality for both? 5. Please don't win a basket and run away! We want RP! 6. Meet the Family! Here's the story of how mommy and daddy met. Sakura and Adrian were good friends, which isn't hard to believe seeing as Sakura seems to befriend everyone and everything. Now, this isn't really your fairytale romance. In fact, there is little romance at all. The truth is, Sakura confines herself to the forest and thus gets very lonely. She misses her parents and what used to be her family (her parents died when she was young, and her siblings went off to live their own lives). What she really yearned for was foals of her own. Adrian saw this desire within her, and like the good friend he was, offered to give her foals. And that's how those baskets came to be.  The Mommy Name: Sakura
Personality: Upon first glance, Sakura appears to be a kind and bubbly person. She is sweet, she is talkative, and she can get a conversation spurting out of even the most introverted of souls. Always seeking out anyone within the vicinity for a conversation, it is clear that she feels most comfortable surrounded by a crowd. And although she tends to dominate a conversation, she has the patience and the ability to restrain her tongue enough to encourage those more quiet and shy speakers (without totally smothering them in words). She is warm, open and just begs for others to return her affections.
The mare tends to act more mature than she is, which is a consequence of being forced to raise herself from such a young age. In truth, she is very young and it is reflected in her naivety at times. Due to her talkative and open nature, she usually hears a lot of stories about other Soquili, and tends to give out advice based on these stories. Unfortunately, this advice is often a misinterpretation of the stories and so can lead to dire consequences. After all, she herself is inexperienced in the world.
Overall she is warm and compassionate. She is a shoulder to lean on in tough times, and always willing to listen to others. She enjoys a good chat, and feels most comfortable around others. She is loyal and does her best to help others, be it consoling them emotionally or healing their physical wounds. She also strongly believes that everyone has a good soul deep down, and strives her best to bring this out in others. "Uncle" Adrian Name: Adrian Dragonshadow
Relation: Biologically he is the father of the baskets. However, the foals know him as "Uncle Adrian" and are not aware that he is their actual father. Adrian still helps to raise them and is a part of their life.
Personality: Though his temper is "difficult" Adrian really isn't that bad a guy. He's rather a nice guy in fact. The difficult part kicks in with his ever so close family and his own personal rebellion against them. Surrounded by loving lifemates Adrian's felt pressured all his life to confirm to that standard himself. Sakura's beauty and open personality brought him to befriend her, but his rebellion certainly contributed to volunteering to father her foals.
He does want to be a part of their lives and is quite excited now that the baskets have arrived. He'll be there but chances are he'll wander away from time to time, especially if his family is in the area.

Male Personality: This little colt is always making his mother work. He wants things his way and if they don't go according to his plan all hell breaks loose. He loves his mother, but often times loses sight of the important fact that she is his elder and often disobeys her. He always acts grown up, as he is tired of being 'too little'.
Female Personality: Sombra is a precious filly, the perfect child. She always tries to help her mother as best she can and often wants to do half of her mother's work herself. She doesn't mind if her plans fall apart, to her it's all fun!
Prompt Number: 1
RP Response: "The coast is clear" Cebra said to himself as he walked towards the edge of the forest. He took one last look behind him to make sure his mother was not around. He smirked and took his first step outside the forest. He blinked a few times as he looked up. The bright sun beamed down on him amid the aquamarine sky. After adjusting to the change in light he slowly began to walk on the grass, which was a different feeling than the dirt and branches he was used to walking on. He smiled widely and began to buck and frolic in the clearing. He stopped, there was a sound from the forest. "Oh god, I hope it's not Mum" he whispered to himself. He peered through the trees, standing half in the forest and half out. Suddenly his mother stomped in front of him. Cebra screamed out in terror and backed up so fast that he fell over. "Hi Mum! I ummmm" he was trying to think of a reason for why he was outside of the forest. When she scolded him he hung his head and slowly walked back into the forest. He knew he would never get another chance again as long as he was young.

Female Personality: Macaria is a very outgoing foal. She LOVES making new friends, and sometime tries to hard to make friends. She is sure that she has probably scared a few potential friends.
Prompt Number: #1 (For Male Basket)
RP Response: Mace enjoyed spending time with his mother, and quite often would push her to see if he could make his escape from the forest. He wanted to know what lied beyond the treetops. There had to be more to the world the the branches and leave covered floor. After a few hours of exploring more of the forest's edge, After returning to the family area, he saw that his mother had wandered over to see Uncle Adrian and he took the opportunity to escape. He galloped all the way to the forest's edge. He stopped in his tracks. For as long as he waited to exit the forest and be on his own, he didn't know what to expect. he peered out beyond the treeline, and saw nothing of interest. Since he had never been out, he was unsure, but he'd never admit to being scared. He decided that today was not the best time, even though he had a perfect opportunity. He decided to go back to the family and hope they hadn't notice his attempted escape.
Prompt Number: #2 (For Female Basket)
RP Response: Macaria spent the afternoon laying in the sun, as she did quite often. She saw her mom wander off for a drink by the river, and saw her Uncle Adrian walk over towards her mother. She noticed him nuzzle her a bit as he bent down for a drink. He then looked back to see if Macaria had seen. Macaria quickly looked away hoping he hadn't noticed her looking. She began to think for a bit and realized that there was some similar markings to Uncle Adrian. She wondered a bit more, but kept remembering how she had only known her as her uncle. She thought that there was probably more to the topic, but as long as everyone was happy, it was all fine. She was sure that the truth would someday come out. {Possible plot for a later RP???}
I hope its ok that I answered for both male and female.... And both leave possible plots for future RP. Oh, and a funny side-note, my son has an "Uncle" Adrian, whom is a good friend of the family.

Male Personality: Driftwood is cheerful and caring though not very confident in himself. A little bit hyper and even more self-aware, Driftwood tends to over think basic things such as saying the right thing in a conversation or making sure he's presentable. He doesn't want to appear rude to anyone, and tries his best to be polite company but normally he becomes so tense that he screws everything up.
Female Personality: Cherry is the type who thinks that every stallion and mare will want to be her friend, because she's just that special. Just kidding! Cherry tries her best to be just as social as her mother, but lacks the control that Sakura has when it comes to more introverted Soquili. When meeting someone new, Cherry is tactful, polite, and sincere but after a few minutes into a conversation, her mouth gets a mind of its own and she ends up talking too much.

for convenience, I used Cherry as Driftwood's sibling's name.
RP Response: Driftwood looked at his uncle and mother with tired eyes. It was Driftwood and Cherry's birthday and Uncle Adrian had come to visit. He didn't mean to, but he had overheard Mother's discussion with Uncle Adrian, thanking him for her children. It didn't take long for Driftwood to put things together.
So he was his father. To be honest, it wasn't that much of a shock to Driftwood, nor did it hurt him to know that his father was in fact, Uncle Adrian. He always loved it when Uncle Adrian would come over and play with him and his sibling. He can't count how many times he thought Uncle Adrian was his father. None of this bothered him. It was the fact that Mother hadn't told them when they emerged from their baskets. Was it really so hard to say "This stallion is your father?" to them?
Driftwood rested on the airy soil as he looked at the two talk to each other. If Uncle Adrian hadn't looked so much like him, Driftwood would have never guessed that they were related with they way he acts around Mother. Maybe it would have been hard for Mother to tell them. He didn't know what she was thinking, though he doubted she would have minded. She was always so sweet to them. Maybe she was embarrassed. Maybe she thought it didn't matter.
A sigh escaped his lips as he heaved himself off the floor. It didn't really matter what Mother had thought, it was her decision, Driftwood decided. And he trusted mother to do what she thought was best. Besides, it wasn't polite of him to eavesdrop on their conversation earlier. He didn't want to upset Mother with this. Best to keep it to himself for now.
