Sozin was tired, and irritable. He had been walking for days, trying to put distance between himself and that blasted leopardess. The one who had made him stay and had made him almost believe his own lies. Pathetic, he snarled to himself, pushing himself to walk further, even has he felt his legs buckling in exhaustion.
He couldn't stop yet. He wasn't far enough away from her. He had to get further away. As far away as he could manage.
His paw clipped a rock and he stumbled, ramming his shoulder into a nearby tree in an effort to remain upright. He winced, but remained standing, leaning heavily on the tree.
Ugh, he thought. That hurt, but it had woken him up a little. He'd probably have a bruise and quite a scrape on that shoulder though, which would make traveling so much more fun, he thought bitterly. He shifted, using the tree as support until he could stand on his own paws again.
The first step he took was wobbly, but he was able to continue to walk – just slowly and stiffly.

If only the male knew there was water not to far to enjoy, Kirja was enjoying it that was for sure. She had Lake Victoria in her home but yet it was something different. She enjoyed going into the roguelands from time to time and practice new types of song and dance. She of course loved to drum the most she loved the drums so much. However she knew that she liked to practice the other forms of art in her pride. To do these she liked to create a little distance between her and the pride. So she found herself out by this lake often. And on hot days with the bigger amount of her coat black it was nice to do it in the water. then again she was a little strange.
She giggled some as she lifted her paws carefully her feet dancing carefully. On top of practicing, practicing in the water made it more interesting and difficult, she like the heavy feeling on her paws. It added a nice challenge that she was used to. But moments like this where she would get really into her dance she would get really into her song to. Her voice could be heard from a distance as she sung. She was pretty good at this. Part of her pride was to learn how to sing loudly. It was a very important part of her pride. If you wanted to get noticed you had to be loud. She still liked drumming better but when she left that at home.
But she wouldn't be singing as loud if she knew that some one was around her.

Sozin had not expected to catch sight of another, let alone hearing someone's voice without seeing them - not in this area, but he paused. The voice wasn't merely talking loudly, they were singing.
He froze. Like...her. No! He snarled inwardly. It was not her! She could not be following him! Impossible! The blasted wench was blind and could not track him, he had walked to far.
He had turned towards the noise before he even realised it himself, moving towards the song, as if to prove to himself that it was not who he thought. He couldn't be.
He tried to keep his movements slow, to not attract attention as he moved towards the noise. His mouth felt dry as he smelt water nearby and he fastened his pace. Water. Perhaps that would revitalise him. He had almost forgotten about the voice until he drew close enough to catch sight of the female dancing in the water - singing.
It was a lioness, not a leopard, and he felt his body slump in relief. Had he been religious, he might have cast a prayer to one of the deities, but he wasn't, so he instead continued on his path towards the water's edge, far enough away from her that he hoped he would not be seen. He had no desire to pretend to care about anything at the moment, he just wanted to be left alone and to drink.
He stumbled a little as he reached the water's edge, and lowered his head to drink, a sigh working free of his throat as his thirst was quenched.

Not much went unseen by Kirja, not while she was in the rogue lands. She was raised in a pride that was pretty safe. In his pride she was happy and was just as safe as everyone else in the pride. However there was one thing that was for sure and that was that she couldn't relax in the Rogue lands. She had never really ran into a problem while she was out here but as her mother warned she knew that she had to be careful. There had been stories about rogues in her pride that weren't that great and on top of that it was mostly based around what males did. she was almost always making sure that who ever she talked to if they were a male she was going to be extra careful around them and as the scent of a male caught her nose she turned around quickly very curious about them.
She flicked her tail around behind her as she watched him thinking as she watched him. she knew to be cautious around males but yet at the same time the friendliness that ran through her family from her mother's side. Really made her want to go for the male. She really wanted to go and see the male. She was curious of who he was and where he came from. She loved company and she wanted to have company. She stepped forward a few steps. She was pretty sure that she could hold her ground no matter what the male was going to do. She knew that she was strong!
MAybe she could be just a -little- cautious about the male. "Hello?" She called out to him curiously.

Sozin barely resisted the urge to groan when he heard her voice call out to him. It was a very attractive voice, he admitted inwardly, and lifted his gaze to watch her, still lapping at the water - she was an attractive female as well, but he was tired.
"Greetings," he said, his voice low and rumbling, due to the dehydration which had grated at his throat. How long had he been thirsty? He couldn't remember - he just remembered not wanting to stop.
His body was moving sluggish now that he had stopped, and he felt his legs start to tremble - barely at all, but he could feel it through his whole body. He sat, before he fell, coiling his tail around his legs. It might have been seen as a friendly gesture, trying to encourage conversation with her, but in reality, he simply didn't want to fall in front of witnesses, despite the almost overwhelming urge to lie down and sleep.
He kept his gaze on her, cautious. He had fought strong females before to know better than to let his guard down around a female - whether she was attractive or not.

Kirja wouldn't harm a fly if she could. If wouldn't want to though. She would rather keep to herself when it came to conflict, she had never gotten into a fight before she had never had to fight with some one she never had a reason to, her entire pride stayed away from the whole fighting thing, she never heard of any kind of fights going on in the pride from any kind. There wasn't any warriors in the pride and there wasn't any reasons to fight, there was just music.
"Hello stranger." She grinned as she trotted over to the male still in a way keeping her distance from him. She knew that if she really, really wanted to she could keep herself safe she could take on just about anyone. She was pretty sure that she could anyway because she knew that she could figure it out. She was sure anyway. "Are you new around here. I've never seen you around here before." She commented. She knew that she wasn't always around here but she was around here enough to know if some one was here often or not because she did visit enough to know that.

She seemed friendly.
That disturbed Sozin. Friendly people were harder to predict. He knew how to fight, and he knew how to win - he had even killed those who had lost to him on multiple occasions and left others close to death. Friendly people were baffling however. He kept his gaze on her wary, knowing that if she changed from Friendly to Dangerous he would fight - on pure adrenalin, since his body was drained - but she did not change, she was just...nice.
How irritating.
"I am simply passing through," he told her blandly, returning his gaze to the water but keeping watch of her through the reflections as he took another drink. "Am I right to assume that I have stumbled upon a pride?" He asked, raising his head again to gaze at her.

"Simply passing through?" She questioned curiously not sure of what to hink about the lion's comment she had seen many passing through these areas before. It was interesting her in the roguelands. It was so unlike what she was used to in the pride. Very few times where there strangers just passing through in her pride. There was very rarely strangers passing through her areas. No one in the pride was just passing through however many others in the rogue lands were almost always passing through. To her the rogue lands was full of others passing through. there was always some one passing through in the rogue lands.
She paused for a moment looking at the male once again and then she flicked her hair out of her eyes once again. She paused as she was staring at him and then smiled at him. "No, not today." She nodded at the male. She knew that the male was a rogue and she could imagine how bad it would be to be an alone rogue in a pride full of lions. But the Nchi was friendly. she paused before moving toward the shore and shook the water out of her coat, trying to get as dry as possible before looking at him again. "I come from a pride not that far off. You are really close to it but you're not in it." She said simply with a small chuckle.

Sozin's eyes stayed on her. She seemed curious about his comment of passing through. Ah, so he was right. She was a pride dweller. Most did not know of the ways of a rogue, and most were intrigued by them. Feeling his exhaustion fading with his increased attention on the other, he couldn't help but wonder if this female was dumb enough to be a toy. She was certainly pretty enough, he mused, and straightened his posture, trying to dispel his earlier exhaustion.
"Yes, passing through. I did not keep track of where I was," he commented, his tone smooth as he watched her move from the water towards the shore, shaking the water from her coat like a dog. He almost scoffed but bit it back before it made it's way from his throat.
He relaxed dramatically - slipping into a familiar role, the harmless male. He doubted this female needed a 'brave knight' to save her, so the harmless male was the easiest persona to slip into - when she commented he was not in the pridal lands. "Good," he said, his voice fading to a quiet murmur. "I did not wish to fight again today." His gaze slipped back to the water, but he kept his eye on what he could see of her reflection in the water.

Kirja shrugged slightly. "thats okay, we're a pretty friendly pride." She then paused for a moment she was at times reminded to tell this to passer throughs espeically males, the pride wasn't as friendly to males as they were to females, that was the truth, and she knew that if he tried to do something there would be hell to pay. "Well, I mean unless you came in and did something bad, if that was the case then they would probably chase you off." She chuckled a little more before looking at him with a grin. "But if you don't plan on doing anything you're good to go." She told him before flicking her tail around behind her.
She paused and thought about what he had said before looking at him curiously, a little confused. "What do you mean fight again today?" She asked curiously, she wouldn't be surprised if he was talking about some prides chasing him off, she knew that there were some prides around here that weren't that friendly, but she didn't like that, she liked friendly prides, she... really had never been to any pride other then her own but the point was that she didn't mind that, her pride was friendly and thats all she cared about.

What was the point of a friendly pride, Sozin wondered. Wasn't the point of a pride to protect the pridal members? If they allowed everyone in the pride, then it was basically just the rogue lands, just...stationary. Useless. Utterly useless. "I have no desire to do something bad against your pride," he said, which was the truth at this point. He didn't have the strength to attack the pride - there was no real reason to, anyway. They were a friendly pride - which mean they probably had nothing of worth. He shot her a small smile - it was weak, and tired, but the smile was smooth, as if he really meant it. He was a good liar, if nothing else.
He really just wanted to sleep at this point though.
At her question, he couldn't help but stretch the truth a little. Truth was boring, and it wouldn't get him nearly enough sympathy - and this female was pretty, despite his tiredness. "A lion did not take kindly to my attempts at saving a cheetah he was harassing," Sozin said, calmly, as if it was no big deal. Especially considering it was the other way around, and the male had attacked Sozin for harassing the cheetah. "I managed to chase him off, but by the time I'd done that, the cheetah had fled in fear and I was unable to help." He shook his head, tiredly.

Kirja looked at the lion carefully looking him over for any signs that he was up to something. As far as she could see there wasn't anything wrong with him. Then again she had never really seen a bad lion in her life that was for sure. She had never, ever seen a bad lion in her life. There was something on the other hand, her parents had really never met many bad lions in their lives either. she might have been considered slightly nieve however she didn't really know any better. she trusted others however that was all to it, she had no reason not to.
She paused once again before chuckling for a moment and then flicking her hair out of her eyes and then nodding at the male. "Good then!" she said with a small chuckle, she was glad to know that at least according to the male he had nothing bad in mind. She paused for a moment and then listened to his story about figthing off another male. "Oh, you do look tired." She commented simply looking at him before frowning a little. "The poor cheetah." she paused again thinking before turning toward him. "If you need a place to go for the nigth then you can stay here." she chuckeld and paused for a moment before thinking and speaking once again. "I am pretty glad though that you took the time to help some one like that." she commented simply.

Sozin could have smirked at her comments on his story. Well, at least she wasn't that clever, he thought, somewhat snidely. Sozin didn't consider anyone who was able to be sucked into his stories to be 'clever', even if he was quite an adept liar. Every liar had a tell, and no one had yet to truly figure out his, and until that happened, he was going to have fun with his lies.
He plastered a fake look of surprise on his face at her offer, eyes widening slightly. "You would open your pride to me, a stranger?" He said, his voice low and calm. He let a slow smile work across his face, it came across as slightly sleepy - but still nice. "My, you are generous and beautiful. Perhaps meeting you is my reward for chasing off that lion earlier, even if I did not get to help the cheetah further."
He rose to his feet. He was a large lion, but his shape was more lithe than heavily muscular, and he kept his head low. He did not want to spook the female by appearing too force-ably dominate, not after she had already bought into his lie.

Kirja looked at the lion a little surprised by his size. She wasn't really prepared for that at all. She wasn't that sure of what to think about it. But yet at the same time she was raised around large lions. Her father was a large lion, so they didn't surprise her to a point. But she kind of wondered if bringing him into the pride was a good idea. She didn't see how it could harm anything. She was pretty sure of it anyway. She didn't like to think that others were up to no good, that wasn't her favorite thing to think about some one that was for sure.
She paused for a moment as she talked to him, thinking about it for a moment before speaking to her. "Well, we don't really turn down strangers, you'll have to stay near the borders of the pride. He told her with a nod. "but I can stay with you after i introduce you to my mother and tell her that you're around." She started simply, her mother had been the one around the pride recently to take care of everything. She tried to help as often as she possibly could. Her cheeks turned red in embarrassment, she wasn't really embarrassed however she wasn't that sure of what to think of him that was for sure he was a smooth talker, she liked it though. She smiled at him and blushed a little. "Oh, thank you." She commented simply before chuckling a little and she started to go the other way. "Come with me, I'll get you settled in."

Sozin was a little irritated that he'd have to stay by the borders, simply because that implies distrust. Sozin was not a trustworthy lion, but he disliked it when people distrusted him. It meant that he was doing something wrong in his masks, and that was irritating. “I understand,” he said smoothly, before shooting her a tired grin. “Meeting the parents already?” He hated parents. They were distrustful of anyone around their offspring, usually, which meant he had to work double hard.
She seemed receptive to his flirtatious at least. That was one advantage. If a girl could be flirted with, she could be fooled. Simple as that, to Sozin at least. “Oh, the pleasure is all mine,” he said, with a 'gentle' smile, as he moved a little to follow her, keeping behind her, letting her lead. She needed to be in control, he decided, it was her lands and she'd feel more at home if she led, rather than him blustering in and taking control.
He could be patient. The best games always required patience.
