Dath wasn't too thrilled with his mate's pulling and tugging. She wasn't physically doing anything, as the petite lioness had little strength, but she had been insistant that their old home wasn't suitable for life anymore. Dath didn't really care what pride he was living in, but it was safer for his mate to be left alone in a pride than if they were roughing it out alone in the rogue lands.
She seemed excited at the chance of a new home, one that worshiped the moon. Dath couldn't care less, but if that's the place she wanted to check out, he would follow.
"Look!" she said, just feeling delighted in leaving the outlands. It was so much more lush here than it had been there...and hopefully Dath wouldn't grumble about it too much.
"Yeah yeah," he said with a grunt, following after the bouncy striped lioness with a hunch in his shoulders. She was always a little overwhelmingly happy.

Badiri was out on patrol, pondering how much more interesting it had been when Thoth had still been a guard. The king was still his friend and still patrolled on occasion but it just wasn't the same. Not to mention everybody seemed to be having kids suddenly-- but that wasn't anything really knew or to complain about, Badiri himself had cubs. Not that they were really cubs anymore.. but not quite to where they would begin in their own lives and duties. Which he was OK with, he was still awkwardly trying to come to term with them being slaves.
With plenty on his mind, in particular how boring it was to patrol alone, he was following along a worn path in the area he was set to patrol for the day when he spotted the two strangers coming closer and closer. Even from a distance they seemed an unusual pair and Baddie stopped to watch a moment before heading towards them.

Momo paused a bit to let Dath catch up with her. She knew better than to get too far ahead of him, but she was feeling much too excited to hold still for too long. And besides, if she stuck next to Dath's side the whole time, he'd still be dragging his paws about entering the pride.Dath was more worried if they were breaking some rule unknown to them, and the possibility of being attacked. He growled slightly as he caught up with Momo, who wrote it off as nothing but playful banter. "If you go too slow, I'm going to leave you in the dust," she said. His head shot up as he thought he saw someone, but he wasn't certain if it was someone in the pride or another random rogue.

Baddie jogged along to catch up to them- they weren't trespassing too seriously yet but if they kept coming, they would be well into the Mwezi'Johari lands and that was something they ought to be aware of. If they were intending to pass through, the pride would need to know and the pair would need to be aware that they would be watched.. or if they were wandering by the might choose a less direct path through the lands.. or perhaps they would join.
He slowed down as he got nearer, not wanting to seem a threat and wanting to make sure he was seen before he spoke up.
"Good evening," he called out.

"Oh!" Momo had been just a tad startled, but that was only because she didn't think they were this close to anyone yet. Dath had been well aware that they were getting a little close for comfort, and that was the reason why he couldn't let Momo get too far away from him.
"Hello!" the tan lioness said with a smile. She didn't know how close he would get, and didn't dare approach him herself. Instead, she stopped, letting the much larger Dath stand a step in front of her on her left. She didn't like it, but it was an unspoken agreement between the two of them when a stranger was around. "Are you a member of these pride's lands?" she asked.
Dath snorted. "Of course he is, we're too far into the lands to just happen across another rogue," he added on, keeping his eyes on Badiri.

He looked back and forth between the pair, settling on Momo when she greeted up-- but looking over at Dath when he snorted and gave his thoughts on things. They obviously knew where they were going, that would make things easier.. and slightly more suspicious. Another side effect of not-so recent events.
"My name is Badiri, I'm a guard for the Mwezi'Johari," he said, "You obviously know where you are, why are you here?"

"Yes. Well. We left our old home in search of a better one, and heard of this place." Momo was a little wary as to why he seemed wary, but she had no idea of what had been going on within the lands. She had only heard of it as they had wandered in search of a new place to call home.
"It was her idea," Dath added on. He wasn't really pleased, but he wasn't very hostile, either. Nothing really pleased the black lion, even though he still loomed over his mate protectively.
"Yes, so. We were hoping to petition to join," Momo added on, trying to push Dath a bit behind her. He wasn't really helping anything.

The lioness seemed perfectly friendly and sincere while the lion seemed more dark and grumpy.. and Badiri wasn't entirely sure what to make of that. Luckily, it wasn't really his job to consider the requests of those who wanted to join. Primary threat assessment was one of his jobs but that didn't change much of the process.
"Where did you hear of us?" he asked, more curious than anything on the first question, "More importantly, what did you hear?"
Did they know what they were getting into?

"I pestered some rogues about prides that they knew of, or had heard of," Momo said in a clear voice. She wasn't really surprised at the questions, but it wasn't something she had been expecting so soon. When really...she should have.
Dath merely watched, letting Momo do all the talking.
"And after dwindling down the prospective places, we decided on this one."
"You did," he grumped.
"Hey, you had to agree with me. Anyway, I've heard about how this pride revolves around the moon. And it sounds much safer than where we were living before."
There was a small pause, and then Dath added on, "I want us to be in a safe pride, for her. Our last one was passable as safe, but with such small numbers it was too vulnerable."

Badiri looked back and forth as they explained the situation. They seemed to know the main key point, the details could be left for the queen and king. It's not like they'd be forced to take the risk that they would be slaves, the pride was happy to ignore those they were ignorant of the spiritual status of. Anyone might well have no favor with the Great Lion but if nobody knew, they couldn't do anything about it.
"We are a large pride and have patrols out regularly but we aren't only concerned with physical safety," he said thoughtfully, addressing the main requirement Dath put forward and wondering how spiritual the male actually was, "I can take you to the Queen and King and they can explain more to you."

Momo bowed to the presumed guard, thankful for how smooth this had gone. Probably better if Dath had been a touch more cooperative, but it was hard for him to really relax. In time, Momo planned to make him relax. For now, she just had to work with him to make sure he continued to respect those that were above him.
Dath nodded to the guard, but didn't say anything. He didn't know what to say. He felt like he was being dragged along in this, but if it was Momo wanted, he'd find some way to cope with it. Hopefully he could find something to keep him busy once (hopefully!) they were accepted. He wasn't about to let himself get soft.
"Thank you," answered Momo as she smiled at Baridi. "We appreciate it."
