It was a rather irritated Alunite that was making his rounds that night. He was hurting where he'd been hit, but more importantly, the bruise on his upper lip was still taking up most of it, and it had turned some kind of ugly green-ish color that probably shouldn't even have existed.
His second meeting with one of these 'pages' didn't go much better than his first - he'd gotten some info, but he couldn't be certain of the truth of it.
Hmm.
Right now he was just sitting on top of a building, irritated and brooding.

Painite was walking home from getting a little energy for the night, though nothing triumphant. She was keeping an eye out for more opportunities, and soon felt a familiar aura in the air. A corrupted senshi, definitely.
She moved to follow it, climbing up the nearest building and then hopping over before finding the one Alunite was sitting on. She was glad when she saw the familiar hair and robes, moving over to him to say hello.
What she had wanted to be a witty and charming greeting was cut off when she saw his face.
"What happened to you?!" she asked immediately, blinking in alarm. Not the most graceful way to enter a conversation or, indeed, let someone know she was there but he at least could have sensed her energy before she pointed out how awful he looked. The bruise was clearly not too old, though the color told her it wasn't fresh. He looked like he had run into a wall face first.
Kneeling next to him, she frowned. "Are you alright?"

Alunite was startled at first - he had been too busy brooding to really pay attention to the auras around him. Really sloppy, in retrospect. The familiar voice, however, calmed him right back down. This wasn't no enemy, far from it.
"Im fine." He couldn't help but cover the bruise, as if she hadn't already seen it. "Nothing's broken. Got slammed in the face with a shield by some old freak." The last bit was muttered, but it wasn't too hard to make out.

The Captain frowned.
She didn't think he was fine. No one got that bruised if nothing bad had happened, unless he was unfathomably clumsy. And from what she knew so far, Alunite was not. He had hoped over that bench for a sandwich rather effortlessly, after all.
She gave him a glare that said she didn't believe him.
"Some old freak with a shield?" she echoed. The hairs on the back of her neck stood. Either he was running into some very strange civilians, or he had met one of the Pages she had run into before. They had weapons, like the negaverse, but they were not.
"What was this old guy? When was this?" She wasn't going to stop questioning him, of course. What kind of a reporter would she be if she didn't get to the bottom of things?

"I have no real idea." He answered, frowning. "I'd never felt anything like him before ! He was wearing chain mail and that shield. I met another with some kind of chains and tried to get some info out of him, but that didn't work very well..."
Through... "The second one called himself of Saturn. I dunno if he was lying or not, but that struck me at odd. They're pretty clearly with the senshi." Ironic to hear out of him ? Very.

Painite knew from the description of his aura, not being anything Alunite had felt before, that it was one of those stupid, awful Pages. She growled.
It didn't sound like either of the ones she had run into before. She was glad, in one way, but angry in many others. She knew the male Page she had fought was strong, and would have been pissed if he had hurt Alunite on top of everything else. But now she didn't know who this new Page was, and they seemed to be popping out of the woodwork all over the place.
"They're Pages," she explained, sitting down next to him instead of stooping. She still looked worried, her eyes flickering every time she noticed the bruise. Whoever the one that had done it to him was, he was now on her target list as well. "Some stupid Knight things that think they're noble and wonderful. They're just as annoying as... no, more annoying than senshi."
She paused, then made a face.
"The normal kind of senshi, I mean. From what I've learned so far, they are tied to their weapons like we are, not like senshi with their stupid magic. And I hate them."

"You know of them ?" Was Alunite's surprised reply. He finally had stopped covering his bruise on reflex, letting Painite have a good look. "Fluorite didn't have a clue what I ran into when she patched me up. So I tried to get info from the second one, but it didn't work too well."
The hole in his chest didn't help him look like a 'good' senshi at all. "The second one had chains... The hooks were a little weird-shaped, but I dunno if that was supposed to mean anything or not." Confusing. Highly confusing.
"I was draining some chick when the first one came on me. He threw a hissy fit about it." He still didn't see what was so wrong with it. It wasn't pleasant, but it wasn't like he was permanently hurting his victims. "Just a little higher and I think he would have broken my damn nose..."

"I do," she said, growling softly.
She leaned to look at the bruise again, frowning at the colors and the look of it. Poor thing. She would have to hunt down the knight who did it, certainly, and make them pay for it. No one hurt her friends and got away with it, and if these knights were going to start being real pains in the a** she was going to have to do something profound to make them regret it.
She would be more than happy to.
"I don't know what their weapons or items or whatever they are really mean, if anything, just that they have them. I met one with an antler. He was brand new. I met two others, as well, and one had a bow and arrow. I don't know about the other. They're awful though."
Well, the one that had kissed her hadn't been so bad, if not a bit confusing... but she didn't think she'd share that part. How embarrassing was it, to lose a fight because she was flabbergasted by a trick kiss?
She pointed to a very light scar on the side of her head, at the temple. "One punched me and left a mark! I want to find them and make them pay so badly. I hate them. So much. I don't know who yours is, but I want to hurt him just as much as the others now. We need, I think, to go organize a hunt."
She grumped, shaking her head.

Really, Alunite found himself glad to have someone to b***h with, and... in some way, was lapping up all the attention was Painite was giving him.
Not that he'd ever admit it, but there was something about her, something he couldn't quite put his finger on. Maybe it was that she was the first agent he'd had multiple meetings with in his time so far. Maybe it was because she was older than most of the others, like he was.
The only thing that he knew was that she was special, somehow. He decided to just not question it.
If only he'd known about the trick kiss - it might have been appropriate to say something about karma.
"I think we need to gather info on them." Alunite shook his head, sending his bangs away from his brown eyes. "And how to deal with them." As far as Alunite knew, they were new. An unexpected factors.
The programmer in him hated unexpected factors. Nothing jammed a program - or an army - more than that.

Painite liked being around people, but more than that she liked being around people when they made it easy to do so. Alunite was one of those new friends that she could easily spend more time with, talking or working, like Ammolite was. Instant connection on some level.
With that came instant protectiveness and loyalty. The idea of some Page bashing in his nose just made her hate that Page, and all the others one, that much more. Even if she had never actually met Camelot.
"I think you're right. Hiro said the same. I think he wants to go out and find one to learn from but I hope he doesn't. They're dangerous, in their different ways."
She shifted, though, calling her javelin to her hand. The Spirit of Mister Saddles had cleaned itself of the blood left by the page Gehenna, but she easily remembered the look of it.
"Or we could do things the direct way. Find one. Trap it. Talk to it. Make it pay if we don't like it. I'm going to find those two, the first two I met. I'm going to make sure they learn not to mess with me, or the Negaverse. These guys are new to this war and don't know what they're doing, but they automatically think they know not to join our side. Bambi was like that. So we might as well make sure they really understand that innate fear of us they seem to have."
She was never one for random killing. It was much more effective to send specific messages, especially when they were dealing with a whole new faction. Put them in their place, before they became a problem. Then do what was necessary from there.
Four Pages at least had already crossed lines, and needed to pay for that.

"Hiro... ?" He couldn't help but frown a bit. "Well, they might mistake him for one of the other cats, but..." Yeah, he wasn't sure if he liked Hiro trying to gather info from something that could easily squash him. The guardian cat was his mentor - in a very direct way - but there was only so much claws could do. Especially against armor.
"I'll keep an eye out." He nodded. "Just in case. I see him often, anyway, since he's been training me." No surprise there. Negaverse cat training Negaverse senshi.
"That'll probably be more convincing then what I did." He had to admit. "If I time my powers right it should be easy for you to get behind and overpower one..." In theory. Theory could go very, very wrong.

Painite nodded her head. She was glad to hear that Alunite was getting training from Hiro. She had gotten quite a bit of help from the cat as well, despite not being a corrupted senshi herself. Any training was useful training, as far as she was concerned, and he had helped her get the hang of her Javelin when it had been brand new.
Her eyes smiled at the memory, though it never reached her serious face.
"Good. Take care of him. He's a very good kitty," she nodded her head, then cleared her throat thoughtfully.
"Well then I think that's just what we're going to have to do. Have a bit of fun with it. Your powers, huh? Good. Good. We'll do it. We use your powers to do the sneaking, my traps to do the catching, and the both of us can enjoy the rest. We can catch whatever one we run into first, I'm not picky. Though, at the moment I'd like to find whatever one gave you that bruise and give him one to match."
She grinned at the idea.
"There's this little one I want. A girl Page, with a bow and arrow. Her muscle headed boy toy was the one who punched me in the head, and though I got to introduce his shoulder to the business end of the Spirit of Mister Saddles here, I think I'd like to make sure the... point... was well received."
Even she had to admire the banter there. That was more of a pun than she had meant to make, but she found it so beautiful.

Alunite would certainly jump in if he ever saw Hiro in trouble. Had it not been for the little toyger, he might very well have become a senshi pancake before he could even have figured out how to use his own power.
Weapons seemed to much easier... Sigh.
"I'll keep an eye out for her." Looked like these two had... well, things to settle. Much like he had his own things to settle with Camelot if he ever saw him again...

Painite certainly didn't envy the corrupted senshi their magic. She thought senshi magic was useless or cheap, but never cool. Mostly because she was always on the receiving end, the bad guy to their good guy complex. Fine by her, but she had a sharp, pointy stick.
That was so much more simple.
"Alright, then, it's settled," Painite smiled brightly, as if they had decided on what to have for dinner that night rather than something a bit more serious, "we'll just have to go out hunting for them. Until we find the ones we want, and get the pay back we need."
It was simple to her, at least. Why make anything more complicated than that?
"If you wouldn't mind accompanying me, of course."

"Sure ! Through, ah..." He expression turned to a smile, a more impish one. "I do owe you a sandwich, don't I, oh lovely prize of mine ?" He laughed a bit, a genuinely happy laugh. He'd had fun the other night, even though at first he had nearly frozen. "No use hunting on an empty stomach, I say."
It would be easy to just power down, grap something, and then power right back up. Painite already knew who he was - he saw no reason to feel complexed about it in the least.
