After being dragged out of the water awhile back, Mitsu's phone ended up kicking the bucket. With how old it was, it wasn't a surprise that the water ended up finishing it off. Even so, if Shun hadn't fallen in the first place, her phone might still be working in the meantime. Since this wasn't exactly the case, he felt some obligation of replacing what he had indirectly broke.
It wasn't like he couldn't afford to do so in any case. And despite any objections the wolf girl might have had, he was pretty determined to replace it anyway. So he waited at the school gates to head on to town.
If the girl decided to not show up in an attempt to ward off this idea, he'd leave and pick out something for her himself. Simple as that.

Mitsu had fought the idea of Shun buying her a new phone. She didn't want him to feel obligated to just because her's had gotten wet. If she would have been thinking she would have taken her phone out of her pocket as well as taken her mask off but the thought just hadn't crossed her mind. But he seemed insistent so to keep him from buying her something expensive Mitsu decided to meet up with him on the day he said he was going to take her to buy this new devise.
School bag still over her shoulder Mitsu trotted her way to the gate to meet with the reaper so that she wouldn't be late. When she spotted him she picked up her pace, slowing down as she got closer.
"S-sorry I'm late." She said softly. Reaching up she pushed the mask up a little since no one else was around, her once hidden expression looking very apologetic. It seemed she was becoming a little more comfortable around the reaper, at least allowing him to see her face. "C-class ran long."

Since Mitsu didn't show up on time, Shun waited around a little longer to see if she would turn up. Just when he was about to head to town on his own, he caught sight of the masked girl heading in his direction. Good.
He glanced up at her and nodded as a greeting before turning towards the gate so they could get going.
"Don't worry about it," he said quietly while placing his hands into his pockets, "We have time."
Hearing her voice, Bent-Tail peeked out of Shun's jacket and waved to the girl happily. He was hitching along for the ride today it seemed.

Letting the mask fall back into place, Mitsu's gaze fell to Bent as he peeked out of the reaper's jacket. "Hello Ben..." One could hear the smile in the little lupine's voice as she reached up to pat the little miced tea.
At the mention of a familiar name there was shuffling within Mitsu's school bag before Milo peeked his head out. It seemed the little boafox had sat with her all during school, which was fine because he had napped during the majority of it. Letting out an excited yip seeing Bent the boafox started to climb out of the bag to sit on Mitsu's shoulder.
"Y..you know you really don't have to buy me a phone, right?" Mitsu figured she would try again as she followed behind the reaper. "I-It's not like I wouldn't have jumped in...even knowing my phone would get damaged...."

Bent let out a happy little noise before becoming more excited as he saw Milo peek out as well. The mouse climbed out to a better vantage point onto the reaper's shoulder while waving to the fox as well.
Glancing over at Mitsu as he walked, towards the town, Shun had a rather neutral expression before facing forward again.
"I don't have to no. But you also didn't have to jump into the water either," he said in a matter-of-fact tone, "I broke it, so I'll replace it."
It didn't take too long to reach the edge of town, as various shops and restaurants began to spring up on both sides of them.

Mitsu couldn't have imagined just sitting by and watching and not going in after Shun. "I..couldn't let you drown..." She said softly, the thought making her upset. That would have been horrible to witness not to mention she would feel like utter trash for allowing it to happen.
Still she followed him to town, their route taking them the long way as they had abandoned the idea of using the bridge since the 'incident.' As the shops came into view Mitsu noticed a lot of them were very different. The window displays had a lot more dresses than normal, big poofy dresses that Mitsu never saw anyone wear out and about.
Curiously distracted Mitsu wandered off their path to stand in front of a window looking in at the biggest dress she had ever seen. What were they for? "T..there are so many dresses....this one is so big..." She commented.
Milo's tail had begun to wag when he spotted Bent, the boafox settling in around Mitsu's shoulders for the time being. When they had made it to town the boafox seemed just as curious about the poofy dresses his head tilting from one side to the other.

"You couldn't, but I'm sure there are those who could," Shun said plainly as he continued to walk. He wouldn't be surprised at least if there were those who'd just watch regardless of what was going on. Of course, there were also those who would want to but physically couldn't for whatever reason.
In town, the reaper paid little attention to the shops they walked past for the most part. He had the destination in mind, and it didn't seem like any of the shops around were skellyphone shops at the moment. However, as Mitsu asked about them, he glanced back to see that she was a little further behind.
Moving back to see what she was looking at, he stared at the window display for a moment but then shrugged.
"Eh. I guess it is about that time of year again," murmured Shun, "Though why anyone would want to go in a dress that damn big is beyond me."

Mitsu's ears perked curiously as Shun mentioned 'that time of year again.' What time of year was it that you wore big poofy dresses? Mitsu had never gone to a Prom...nor to a dance really so she really had no idea what all of this was about.
"T..that time of year again? What do you mean?" She asked curiously her head tilting from side to side almost like Milo's. Quite the pair they were, their heads moving in the same direction at the same time. "I..I've never seen anyone wear dresses like this before..."

Shun raised an eyebrow at the question, wondering what school Mitsu had gone to before now for her to not really have seen anything like this before.
"Prom," he said, figuring that would be enough explanation. School dances were not typically his thing. There were a lot of people there and it was usually fairly noise. Not to mention it was generally a more sociable experience, which didn't mean much when he hardly had any friends. He supposed the only thing really, was food.

"Prom? These are for Prom?" Mitsu had heard of Prom but had never been asked to such a thing. Who would ask her anyway? But she had heard about them and they sounded fun. Food, music and dancing! Mitsu liked to watch the dancing though she was a little too uncoordinated to try it herself.
"I've never gone to a dance. I...bet it would be fun to go." Her voice had dipped a little into sadness before she pushed away from the window ready to follow Shun once again. As usual her expression was hard to read but her ears seemed slightly deflated at the top of her head. It didn't really matter if she had the opportunity to go anyway, she didn't really have a dress and probably couldn't afford any....she could just imagine the conversation with Mr. Adolphus to try and get money for one.

"More or less. At least for the girls who like to wear big bulky things like those," Shun said. For a moment or so, he watched Mitsu as she mentioned having never gone. She sounded pretty sad about that, and her ears reflected the feeling further.
Turning away from the dress shop, the reaper continued on to seek out the phone place while thinking to himself. Even though the girl had owed him before he fell into the water, he still felt some sort of debt towards her. Saving his life meant a little more than an owed lunch after all. As for the phone, he counted that for something else. Things were ticking along in his head, but he wasn't really sure yet.
"There isn't really anything stopping you from going you know," He said while walking along.

Following behind the reaper Mitsu's ears twitched a little at his comment. True...there was nothing keeping her from going. Mr. Adolphus never let her go to things like that because he thought it a waste of time when she could be studying or being productive around the house. Now...she was making her own decisions. Maybe she would go! But....she would be there alone and everyone else would probably have something they were there with.
"N...no, I don't...want to go alone." She admitted. The lupine barely knew anyone yet and it would be awkward to be in a large group with no one else with her. The very thought made the anxiety build up in her chest. "W..will you be going to Prom?" The wolf girl asked curiously.

As he kept an eye out for the one store, Shun glanced back at Mitsu momentarily as she admitted that she didn't want to go alone. It would... not be so great to go to such an event by oneself for sure. The gears turned a little more and he outright paused for a split second as she asked him if he was going.
It seemed this was saddening her... and he did owe the girl..
Taking in a breath, he nodded.
"Yes," he said simply, pausing in his words for a moment there, "I'll go with you."

The pause between Shun's answers had Mitsu nodding sadly. He probably had a date. The reaper was a nice looking guy after all it would only make sense. "I bet you'll have fun, let me know how.....eh?" She had started off her sentence thinking he was going with someone else but finally his last few words sank in. Go.....with her????
"Eh?" Mitsu couldn't seem to gather her words as she froze on the path they were on to the skellyphone store. "Y-y-you would go with me?" She stuttered out in complete shock. HUFF PUFF HOW WAS SHE SUPPOSED TO REACT? The thought that he would take her to Prom of all things made an odd giddy sensation well up inside her.

Shun really hoped he wasn't going to regret this decision. Dances and the like weren't his thing. But, he might not have to dance here so maybe it wouldn't be too bad. There was another pause after Mitsu had stuttered out her reply, but he did nod to that.
"Yeah I'll go," He said, "Think of it as a sort of thank you if you'd like."
Nodding again, he continued on. The phone store wasn't too far off from what he could tell. At least he hoped that was the phone store. The sign had what looked like an eyePhone on it after all.
