You are the apple...

I'm sure I'm not the only one currently out there looking for a job, so I was wondering if y'all could give some advice/tips on how to go about it. I've been looking actively for a couple months now and I havent even gotten so much as an interview.

I generally fill out applications online and send em in that way, but occasionally Ill pick one up and hand it in personally.

Ive been told you should go in a few days after you send in an application to show your eagerness, but I have yet to do that.

So tell me, Burn: What would be the best way to go about this currently fruitless venture?

Yeah, you should pester them about looking at your application. But don't be too over bearing, you don't want to make them shred your chances of working there.

Also, as you know, there is the interview process. ninja But I think you know how you should act in that.

neutral I think that's all there is to it, honestly. Hand deliver the application so they know what you look like and can recognize you when you get the interview, and pester them every couple days to look at your application and resume.

I agree with Tina138 on this. When you hand in an application, whether its online on personally, contact them about two or three days after handing it in, give your name and tell them you handed an application a few days ago and ask if they have seen it.

The person you are talking to might tell you yes or no, and if they say no, just say thank you for letting me know and hang up. Just keep asking very two to three days until they give you a yes on seeing the application. Then go from there.

Thanks for the info, guys. Dont expect much posting from me in this thread as I'll more than likely just be lurking it. But I'll for sure make a note if i find a job = )

Start low. That's the best advice I can give. The best thing to do I find is to establish yourself as a hard worker. As long as you dedicate yourself to your work and can keep your manager's contact info for use on future applications, you'll do just fine. You may start off with a minimum wage job that pays like $9/hour but once you start to get recognized out there, you can get a good job that can sustain you well. I just made >$300 in the last 2 days and they were my first 2 days on the job but I started much lower than that a while ago.
