So this is a story that I am currently working on, I'm not finished and I'm already having second thoughts about it. So any
POLITE criticism is greatly appreciated(:
Also I have not yet come up with a title for the story so ideas for that will also be greatly appreciated.(:
If there are any questions, just ask ... politely of course (rudeness is something I cannot stand..)
Now for the story >_<
As I walk down the empty road, I hear footsteps rhythmically following me, with each step I made, my stalker did the same. I dared not to turn and look for the fear of who he was; instead I kept my head straight forward and pretended he wasn’t there. I kept my ears finely tuned into each and every sound that was around me, the rustling of the fresh autumn leaves, the soft whispering breeze tickling my neck, even the sound of the owls making their approach to their nocturnal hunt for prey. Suddenly I stopped…I don’t know what compelled me to do this… but I did. The minute my feet stopped so did my stalker’s; all was silent…the wind stopped, rustling of the leaves ceased, and it was quiet…just a simple, dead silence that even a deaf person would find unbearable. As I began to turn my head slowly, he was on me, one arm around my neck, the other to my mouth, his mouth to my ear, his words crashing into my mind like bombs into water,
“Hush…you say one word and your life will be mine.”
I was terrified, my mind was screaming, my eyes were screaming, but I wasn’t screaming. His hand was clenched so tightly against my face I could hardly breathe. I could feel his arm tightening around my neck; I could hear my heartbeat racing in my ears. His words were calm, icy, deadly,
“Do you know where she is?”
I could feel his hand loosen upon my mouth and I coldly responded,
“Who is it that you’re looking for?”
“Lynn Près de l'eau also known as Celeste Eclipse”
I closed my eyes as I heard my name escape his cold lips,
“Do you know where she is?!”
I begin to clench my fists, holding back the urge to say yes. With all my strength that I had at that moment I simply said,
“I’ve never heard that name before in my life.”
His grip went limp and I was free, I turned to look at my attacker… but he was gone. I continued to walk home… my attacker’s words repeating in my mind over and over like a record skipping continuously. My fear ebbed away like waves receding into the sea. As I approached my house my fear returned. Every light in my house was off and the front door was wide open revealing the penetrating darkness waiting for me within. My footsteps went silent as I drew closer to the front door, within my empty house I could hear the moaning of the wind pounding against my ears. As I entered the awaiting darkness I heard whispers all around me,
“Sir, she’s obviously not here, what do we do now?” the first anonymous voice whispered.
“Wait a second…I can sense another person in the house…” came the familiar coldness once again.
