She'd actually managed to sleep last night. It was such a nice refreshing feeling that the she-wolf had been antsy and full of more energy than she had been for some time now. It left her feeling oddly, lost, as she didn't know what to do. Normally, at times like this, she would slink upstairs to the room above hers and have a nice morning with her best friend. But they hadn't done that in a long while. And, if LW was being honest, she was afraid to try it. Ren wasn't as stable as he used to be. That hell trip had done a number on them all. He was just one of the worse cases. And she missed him. Really missed him.
LW figured he probably wouldn't appreciate a hyper werewolf pouncing on him right now anyways. So what was plan B? Outside. Take a nice run outside and try to work off some of the energized feeling. Maybe after that she could go visit Gabrian. Maybe.
Once outside, she forgot all her semi-formed plans by the feel of the wind tugging at her hair. It was windier out than usual. A nice change. Her eyes brightened and wasted no time shifting forms. A yip escaped as the she-wolf bolted along a familiar and much abused path that led around campus. She had lost how many times she ran this path, almost every morning. It was refreshing to get a run in on four feet when she had been cooped up inside. And the wind! It raced through her fur and knocked her about making this run much more eventful. After one particularly good gust, LW tripped and flopped over with another yip followed by a canine curse. Sitting up, she looked around to see if anyone had noticed. Didn't look like it.
Stretching, she shifted back and stood where she was, eyes narrowed against the wind. The she-wolf stood there, letting the wind carry away her problems for today. She was determined to have a good day today. And the first steps to that were shoving aside the worry and fear. Taking in a deep breath, another gust made her stumble back with a laugh. Alright, so standing still wasn't going to help her have a good day either! Turning back towards the main path, LW clasped her hands behind her back and walked along slowly, tail swayed in the wind, hair blowing about but not annoyingly. Half of it was pulled back and out of her face anyways.
Today would be a good day.

Sparrow had spent the morning composing a letter to home. It had taken him quite some time; after all, he had had much to say about Amityville since having arrived a week and a few days past. After informing his mother about the "entertainingly busy Open House," he had then sat there, absently tapping a pen against the side of his face. Despite having met quite the variety of both boils and ghouls at the school so far (not to mention the one boil whom he'd thought was a ghoul), Sparrow's mind kept going back to one redheaded ghoul in particular. He did not know her very well, or really at all, but the way she had blushed when he had called her pretty, and the way she gracefully moved were all quite...intriguing.
With a sigh, Sparrow pushed the letter aside, leaving it unfinished as he stretched his arms up, working the kinks out. He got to his feet, straightening his jacket, and with a quick whistle to Dihi, found himself with a little golden bird perched upon his shoulder.
"Time for a walk, darling," he said, rubbing the bird's soft, downy feathers, and stepped out of the room, careful to lock the door behind him. A walk would hopefully do him some good, as would the fresh air, and once outside, Sparrow closed his eyes briefly, inhaling deeply. It smelled of rain and sun; the perfect combination, and linking his fingers behind his back, he began to make his way across the campus.
He had only been walking for mere moments when something caught his eye - something red and beautiful. A smile rapidly lit up Sparrow's face, but he fought it back hastily, replacing it with a much more serene expression as he stepped up behind the shewolf.
"Did you know you look quite lovely with your hair down like that?" he said, rather conversationally. "It seems as if you are having a delightful morning, if I may say so, LW darling."

It was difficult to tell if it was the wind moving her tail, or if the she-wolf was making it sway from side to side like it did on her own. Either way it was almost alluring to watch. Tails. They were fascinating things. Something she had learned to take advantage of. However, with the wind teasing her hair and the fur of her tail, LW was just enjoying the day without a care in the world (or so she pretended).
With the wind batting against her side, it made it near impossible to catch the scents of anyone that might be around her. Unless they were coming from the direction the wind blew from. As such, it was very easy (aka much easier than normal) to...catch her off guard. So when a voice spoke up directly behind her without the usual warning of feet approaching or catching the familiar scent of another student, LW reacted in typical she-wolf fashion. Squeaked in surprise, spun around somehow managing to step on her tail in the process, and grabbed onto the person that had snuck up on her so she didn't fall on her butt.
Wide violet eyes blinked up at...was that Sparrow? The boil she had met in class? Skulls! It was. And she was clinging to him rather more tightly than acquaintances really warranted. But jackdamnit he had scared her! The little sneak had come up behind her without warning and-
"I-I...do?" Her mind was stuck on his compliments. "I mean...umm...t-thank you?" Of course she was blushing by this point, now that her mind had caught up and informed her that:
a) This was her second time meeting Sparrow and she was clinging to him. b) He said such lovely things that made her blush (not something that was hard to accomplish, sadly). c) Now that she took a moment to look, he WAS handsome.
Half her brain was informing her she should 'let go' and 'step back' while the other half was still tumbling over the word 'lovely'. "Yes! I am. Having a delightful morning, that is." Finally her hands listened to what she was telling them and released the boil as she took a small step backwards to put some space between them. "I love being outside. And this day is gorgeous!" Had it even dawned on her that he might be flirting and that she wasn't helping? Of course not.

He had startled her; Sparrow suppressed a grin of amusement. Instead of being surprised at her gripping his arm in surprise, he made no mention of it, nor even implied that he had noticed. There was a blush spreading rapidly across LW's face, which was ridiculously endearing.
"Yes, my dear, you do," he answered her easily, slanting a gaze down at her. "You are quite lovely any day, of course, but with your hair down you look like a beautiful, exotic werewolf."
If there was one thing Sparrow liked, it was being in the company of someone as pretty as LW. The shewolf was just his type; small, cute, and easily flustered, though he was not the type to just take advantage of someone like that. Getting to the point where he could logically ask her out on a date would be a slow process, and would take some effort on Sparrow's process, but he was genuinely interested in LW. She was adorable.
She had loosened her hold on his arm, and Sparrow moved his hands back to behind his back, his fingers linked together. "You do?" he asked, smiling. He began walking, gesturing for her to walk with him. "I can see that; you seem the type to enjoy this type of weather, the fresh air, anything with the outdoors and the wind."
Sparrow was silent for a moment before he spoke again, letting them both walk on in a comfortable silence. "So tell me about yourself, LW," he said, looking down at her (she really was quite short). "What else is it that you love?"

If her blush hadn't been bad enough before, it was scarlet now. Sparrow definitely had a way with words and she still was not used to hearing someone say such sweet things. Except Ren. And Gabrian. But she barely knew Sparrow! What was she supposed to do? Or say? Blush obviously.
"I-I...umm," what was she trying to say again? Oh right. "Thank you. That's very...sweet of you to say." That was what people said in these situations, right? The she-wolf hoped so. It wasn't like she could respond to Sparrow like she did to Ren. She didn't know him well enough for that. Not yet. Her cheeks were probably giving off some warmth from how red they were.
Her fingers twitched, like maybe they would like to grab on again, but the she-wolf ignored them. A bright expression lit her face as she started walking with him. There was nothing wrong with walking, right? "Yes. I enjoy it very much. It's hard to explain, really. Just something about having wind rush through your fur is very enjoyable. And the clean fresh scents!" Her tail was swaying from side to side, still being toyed with by the wind. Her hair as well. She curled her thumbs into the pockets of the jeans she wore while they walked.
The companionable silence didn't bother her at all. I was quite nice, actually. It gave her a few private minutes to figure out what she thought of this boil. This was only their second meeting, though it was the first time of it being just the two of them. He was nice, gentlemanly, and cute. Which sort of surprised her that she would notice. She hardly ever noticed that sort of thing. Maybe she'd blame it on the fact she'd had a boilfriend and paid a little more attention now. Only a little.
Violet eyes flashed up to look at the reaper. "There are many things I love." She said with an amused look. "Pillows, bells, and cuddles being the top three." The she-wolf thought some more. "And hanging with my friends. Never have liked being alone." Especially not anymore. "Hmm...what else can I tell you?" LW grinned. "Maybe you should tell me something about yourself while I think?" She gave him one of her cute smiles.

Oh, that blush. It really was quite endearing, the way the red spread across her cheeks and nose, her expression one of surprise, confusion, and mingled pleasure as she clearly attempted to figure him out. Sparrow was beginning to like LW more with each moment he spent with her, thoroughly enjoying her company much more than he probably should have. He did not think she had a boilfriend; at least, he had not heard her mention one, though people had murmured things about the emerald haired nix...
"You're quite welcome, my dear," Sparrow said lightly. "Though not particularly sweet; merely a truth that perhaps did not need stating, but at least warranted a comment."
LW was obviously flustered, which made him stifle a pleased smile. He did not want to overwhelm her, of course, but she was just so very...open.
"I've never found running particularly pleasurable myself, to be honest," he said, enjoying the way LW's smile widened across her face, her entire countenance lifting, her eyes bright and beautiful. "Though perhaps now I might have a reason to be interested in it."
He gave her a teasing smile, then lifted a brow, tilting his head towards her. "Cuddles?" Sparrow said with amusement, both surprised and entertained by the blatant admittance of something he had thought would embarrass anyone else. "How very interesting. I seem to have an interest in that myself."
"Being alone is quite unpleasant," he went on conversationally. "I like the company of others just as much as the next person. I find it much easier to relax if I am to be around others, rather than shut away by myself."
Sparrow's eyes shifted towards her, a small smirk on his face as he caught her smile again. "I'm afraid I'm not nearly as entertaining as you are, my dear," he said, a melodramatic sigh escaping his lips. "I'm just a simple grim reaper who enjoys math and exploration, after all. And I'm rapidly developing a taste for the company of certain werewolves as well," he added innocently, as if it were a passing afterthought.

Oh Jackdammit! That blush was not going to go away anytime soon, was it? Not around Sparrow at least. So it had just been truth - wait. Waitaminute. The she-wolf groaned internally. Sparrow was better at this particular dance of words than she obviously was. No wonder she was doomed to continue blushing around him. Maybe she'd go ask Gabrian for some friendly advice in how to deal with boils as cute and charming as this reaper? Maybe...?
"Really? Running is so enjoyable though!" Not that she'd ever been able to successfully convince Ren of joining her. Or Gabrian. Jack, she hadn't ever convinced anyone, had she? Maybe she was just weird. Or it was a canine thing. "I would never say no to some friendly company. Especially the kind that can talk back." Unlike her faithful hazmutt. Austin wasn't much for words, but he was her companion in pretty much everything that no one else joined her in. Running was especially a favorite of his as well.
Her grin grew. "Yes! Cuddles." She agreed, dipping her chin up and down. "Well, then perhaps you should join in on the cuddle piles?" LW offered teasingly, though she did actually mean what she said.
The she-wolf wrinkled her nose. "Yes. Yes it very much is unpleasant." And so far, since coming to Amityville, the only time she'd ever really been 'alone' was her first time at the school. Then she'd met Ren, Gabrian, and Alessa and it was very rare to find herself alone now. Not to mention her minipets counted as company too! "I very much agree. I've found that if I'm alone, instead of relaxing I start to get anxious." She paused. "Or extremely bored and have to go seek out some company." Which was probably how she'd met a good portion of the boils and ghouls she was friends with.
That ever present blush had started to recede and fade to a faint dusting of pink along her cheeks....until Sparrow got her again. It had taken her a moment to process what he'd actually said. LW had opened her mouth to respond, felt things come to a screeching halt, and snapped her mouth closed. Oh he was a charmer! "Is that so? I think I might have to disagree, reaper. You are very entertaining and I very much enjoy your company." She grinned at him, tail flicking slightly behind her.
