Exams were being whispered all throughout the school and Calder was nervous and excited. He would be going home at the end of the year to finally see his parents, and he also had another Exam with the Clan. One he was even more nervous about than the one at school. Both gave him a hard dose of nervousness that he was finding himself making good use of his mother's tea that she sent him just to settle his stomach. When that didn't work, he'd go on campus to find some weeds to chew on and hoping the bitter taste would calm him.
Under a tree, he rested his hands under his head and looked up, chewing on a withered dandelion and wondering what he had accomplished this year. It seemed like he just came to this school yesterday, and he wondered if he really grew up from that boil a year ago. He hoped so.

It had been ages since he walked these paths.... somehow getting out of the school, no idea how even he had pulled it off. All he knew? He was gone for a while... and then found and brought back. His pets were happy to see him, but pissed as well. Someone was taking care of them while he ws gone, he was happy to see. Remi really did not want to be here, did not think it necessary... but the bloodline of his clan claimed he HAD to be here. Had to make himself stronger. He did not see why, normally those of his blood only made it to their 7th tail. Remi already had 6 currently. A weird number in his lines, normally they start at 3, then to 5, then to 7. Not in a while had there been a 6 tailed one. Some made fun of him for it, others? They just wanted to see if he could go further.
His grandfather was a 9 tailed fox.
Too much damn s**t to live up to, he just wanted to be free to do whatever the hell he wanted.
So what did he do..? Skip class of course. Someone was going to need to rein in the rogue kitsune. He was out of control.
Resting his back against a tree he had climbed not even 30 minutes prior, he looked out on the school grounds. "So many first years still.." A mumble to himself. All the time he lost pranking them, well damn. A lot of them would be second years after the exams. He wished them luck on those. Theyd need it. He failed his exam personally. He was not moving on to third year either, he missed so much that he was being held back into second year for another term. He wasn't too pleased with the arrangement, imagining another two years in this hell hole. Staring down, he noticed that one of the first years had sat next to his tree. a smile on his face..... he could make up for lost time.
Not one for rules, Remi lifted his index finger and summoned a small dose of fox fire. A ability that came to him naturally... almost like breathing. Floating over his finger he blew out a breath of air. The floating fire drifted towards calder...

With the day as gloomy as it was, warming up in one of those October days that left the air almost cozy, the soft rustling of dry leaves, he was finding himself falling asleep. His chewing was growing slow as his eyes started to drift shut, heavy with memories of the last year and the dreams of what would come. Idle fantasies of being a big shot second year and finally fitting in, being popular, and maybe having a boilfriend.
At first, the warm heat didn't even register. It was almost inviting with the cool breeze that coasted over the school grounds, but then he felt it grow warmer and warmer still at an alarming pace and his eyes shot open when he felt himself sweating and the smell of burning hair.
The small flame had latched to Calder's bangs, causing the boil to bolt upright and start smacking his head to extinguish the flames. After much patting, he was left panting before coming to one conclusion.
He threw the weed he had been chewing on. "Cursed!"

A smile that brushed his lips slowly transformed into a grin as he watched the scene below. Oh this would be interesting... slowly the fire approached. Remis sapphire eyes drew wider as he watched. Like a animal watching its prey curiously, it was hard to keep from not laughing. Biting his lip so hard that he tasted a bit of blood.
....When it actually hit, Remi could not hold it back any longer. A laughter filled the grounds as remi roared, and rolled backwards. So far in fact.. that he fell off the low branch he was resting out and landed on his back. With a OOMPH sound, it did not stop himself from laughing. Though the tears he had no one could be sure were from the pain of landing, or the abundant laughter. "Cursed? Oh boy are you dense." Was able to be squeezed out before the laughter started again, his tail lashing around.
The laughter itself was almost inhuman in sound. Well, he was not human after all... the laughter sounded more like barking.

Calder would have gone on believing he had been chewing on a fire-hurling weed if it hadn't been for the laughter. Ears up, he looked away from the partially-chewed plant up to the tree. Oh no. It was a cursed TREE! It was mad he was eating one of it's relatives!
Then the 'omph' came and Calder turned about, wondering if the tree was continuing to wage war against him by throwing it's own branches. It was the wiggling shape of that branch that told him this wasn't true, and rising up to his hooves, he went over to look at a laughing, gasping boil.
Calder's pout went to a full frown, brow creasing as he went to inspect his bangs and then back at the boil who was laughing at him. "I am NOT dense, and I should trample you for throwing fire at me! WHO throws fire at a person?!!" He went over, making his hoof-falls heavy to show that if he was given the chance, he could stomp on some delicate bits and break a few bones. "Why did you burn my mane?! That's important!"

Tears still streaming down his face the kitsune wiped them away with back of his hand hand, looking up at the other boil, grin still there. "Take a chill pill dude. you were not hurt right? Besides i honestly aimed to have the small flame hit next to you, not on you." Licking a finger he brought it into the air. "Slight breeze." He blinked a few times, narrowing his eyes momentarily before quirking an eyebrow at the hooves.
"Nice shoes you got there." Lifting himself to his feet Remi walked around the boil... clearly curious. Not one to mind touch, he ran his fingers through the boys tail. "I see your some sort of pony, equine....same deal." Making a quick move away, he decided it best not to find himself below those huge toenails on the boys ankles.
"Your hair will grow at least it didnt hit something more delicate. Your still cute, so alls well that ends well?" That devilish smug look was back as he stuffed his hands into his pant pockets.

First he was trying to burn his mane off and now he was offering him PILLS?! This guy was bad news. Bad news! Worse yet, he smelled like some dog thing. Probably a wolf. Wolves were bad.
"I am not taking any pills from you and turning into an ice cube." Apparently he thought the boil was some magical, pharmaceutical wizard, and backed away from him slowly. Not quickly it seemed as the boil went up and started to move around him like a vulture. The stroke to his tail shot up a bolt of energy up his spine that made him stand like a telephone pole for a good few seconds before feeling his face reddening and heart racing. Too close! TOO CLOSE! Stranger danger!!
While he should be hiking his hoof and slamming it into the boil's shin, he hesitated at being called cute. Not too many boils called him cute, and he kept his leg from lifting enough to catch the boil circling back. He looked older, and certainly wasn't in any of his classes. Did that mean he was....a mature older boil?
"I'm..I'm not a pony! I'm a kelpie, you..you.." He waggled his finger at the boil as he tried to figure out what he was. Blue. Tails. Smelled of dog. "Blueberry Fire Dog!"

A stare.
A blink.
A cough.....
A face that looked like it was about to explode...was turning red.... and then the laughter, barking like, started again full force. "Blueberry fire dog!?" He choked out between sobs, his body threatening to fall on the ground once more. This laughing fit had not lasted long, his eyes turning sharp as he glared down.
"I should bite you for calling me that, Pony boil." Remi paused and straightened up, the smug grin back that anyone whom knew him would come to recognize. Approaching a little closer, he was in striking range if Calder so chose to kick him. "But your acting too adorable to hurt. I am a kitsune and a Knob." A minor threat? Or just informing him...

He huffed at the name. Everyone needed to stop calling him Pony Boil. It was REALLY getting on his nerves! He may share similarities to the equine race, but his kind were higher up on the intelligence ladder - which wasn't exactly being proven right now, but you couldn't really expect genius comeback from a flustered first year.
Speaking of lacking intelligence, Calder should have reared back when the other boil came to loom over him, but like any stubborn mule, he stood his ground and did his best glare up at the boil. Speaking with his eyes was one thing his kind did well and was part of their very Fear ability. Of course he wasn't using it now, but the presentation of not backing down was there.
"Oh--Oh yeah. Well, I would stomp on you if you did." Take that. "And I don't even know what a kitsune is, but you smell like a wolf."

"Who knows you might like the bite." A gleam in his eye, smirk followed with a wave of a hand. "Please don't, i rather like my paws the way they are, even so. I bet i could outrun you." Doubtful, but he would say it anyways.
Close to the tree still, Remi leaned his back against it and folded his arms. Monsters.. how could they not know. He had a soft spot for their kind, kind of feeling kindred with them as a fellow shapeshifter. "Close, but i'm not a a** sniffer like they are. I think we are distantly related. Lets just say i'm a foxy male."

"I would not!" (He probably would depending if it was just a playful n**.) Boil, this guy was smooth. He wondered if he would get smooth come his second year. Did all second years talk like this? He was talking to a second year! A second year that called him cute!
While he rapidly processed this information, he stood there watching as the other boil relaxed on the tree in a very cool fashion. "So.........you're a fox boil?" He said, hesitant and unsure. He didn't want to ask if he just thought foxy as in hot because then he could be laughed at again. He didn't want the older boil to think he was more of a dork than he already was.
"Well, I'm not a pony boil. I may look like one and even shift into one, but kelpies are different. For one, we could out run any kit-soon."

"Im a demon." He said in reply to the 'fox boy comment'. "Not a monster, technically im not even a fox but i call myself one anyways, but a shapeshifting kitsune demon." A shrug, he was not about to show and tell unless the 'pony yet not pony' did too.
"Truce? I wont call you 'pony boil' unless you call me 'fox boil'. Though i am foxy in other terms." A smile, confidence was such a mask to Remi...
"Its Kit-sue-neigh. You should be good at the Neigh part." Remi had a feeling he was pushing his luck, but damn if he didn't always do that.

"I don't go neeeiiiggghh. That is a dumb word! I don't go up to you and go Woof, Woof, Bark or whatever kit-soon-neighs make!" He stomped over and poked the boil in his chest. "That. Is. Just. Rude!" He said with each poke before turning about sharply and flicking his silver tail.
Once he took some paces back, he took a deep breath. This boil was older, "foxy", and called him cute, but he was also set his hair on fire, laughed at him, called him a pony, and insulted his language. He had to be taught a lesson. Turning about, he glared at the other boil.
"Let's see how fast you can run. By the end of three. You move or I'm going to be the one that bites you." He held up a finger as mist started to roll around his hooves. "One!"

"Clearly you do say 'neigh'." The smirk was quickly wiped off his face by the look the other was giving him, replaced with an eyebrow quirk. Remi had struck a nerve, something he was damn good at... proud of actually. There were usually bad results, but damn if he did not enjoy pushing buttons. So it was worth it in the end.... usually. He apparently pushed this one a little too far, not amused at all by the fingers being held up and the counting. "Uhm. Bye!" He said, turning tail and running in the opposite direction. The 'one' was said with him still in human form... but with a quick flash of blue light, and a VERY large fox bolted out of the light.. and ran a lot faster than the human-esk Remi that once stood there had. Good thing they were outside.

Calder turned, fog forming up his legs before it swept over him. He was still counting as he quickly shifted, but was already moving by the time three was spoken. The boil was certainly larger than any fox he had ever seen, not to mention in such a odd color. Still, it was reminisint of deep, clear waters, and he found it rather appealing. You couldn't really go wrong with blue. It was refreshing! Like the slow chilling of a corpse or the rolling waves crashing against a boat.
Flicking his tail, Calder started his pursuit, sprinting behind the bluring blue streak. If Remi turned, he noticed the silvery white horse following behind, ears back. Breathing deep, he let out a hard neigh just to show him the different between what a true neigh sounded like.
