Name: Gaia Book Club
AKA: GBC
Owner: me, fiction
People you should listen too: Me, Kaori_luv
Guild Mule: Bookwyrm (not created yet)
Total cost: 45.5K

What the guild is for: The sharing of books, novels, plays, and stories. You like a book? Write a review on it. You don't like a book? Write a review on it. You want to read more? Search are subforums and get ideas as to what to read next. IF YOU LOVE BOOKS SHARE THAT LOVE.

The Rules:
- Be respectful
- Follow Gaia's ToS
- If a book is in the adults section of a bookstore please be well aware of Gaia's PG 13 rule and make a note as such
- Keep the guild and all threads PG 13 at all times
- No trashing someone because of their opinion
- Please, if you dislike a book explain why not just 'this book stunk like a skunk'
- If a book is considered Romance please keep the following in mind...
~ The 'romance' part is only a very minor part of the book
~ The review/discussion will be kept PG-13
~ The title and first post should provide the proper R rating since the book contains 'romance' even if your thread does not

Subforums:

Mystery - Mystery subgenres include spy, detective, and crime stories. This subforum will cover all books that are primarily mysteries. Think Nancy Drew and Murder on the orient express.

Fantasy - This subforum covers books that deal with the magical, such as dragons, mermaids, wizards, fairies, ect. The can be based in our world or another but the difference between this subforum and the sci-fi subfourm is its not dealing with outerspace, seriously futuristic tech, ect. Think Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.

Science Fiction - This subfrum covers all books that take place in distant worlds, futuristic technologies, post apocalyptic earth. Think Star Wars and Star Trek.

Suspense/thriller - "Suspense novels and thrillers are tense, exciting, often sensational works with ingenious plotting, swift action, and continuous suspense. In this genre, a writer's objective is to deliver a story with sustained tension, surprise, and a constant sense of impending doom that propels the reader forward. Unlike mysteries, thrillers are dominated by action in which physical threat is a constant companion, and a hero (James Bond, for example) is pitted against a nefarious villain."(Exploring the Different Types of Fiction) (I cant come up with anything better ^^)

Classics - These are the books that are considered classics such as Jane Eyre, David Copperfield, and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. If you aren't sure if the book you are thinking of is considered classic then ask but base thought process is older then 100 years old or so and would make your high school English teacher weep for joy over you reading it.

Others - This is the section for all other fiction books. It covers books that don't really fit in other categories, well the other subforums that I have provided.

Non-Fiction - Any non-fiction book you would like to share would go here. Such as histories on areas, cooking books, crafting books, and drawing books.

Personal Reading Logs - This is the section where you get to have your very own little journal. You can list the books you have read and/or list the books you want to read. We won't bother you if you would even like to add a poem or short story to your log, just please don't make a separate post just for them.

Archives - because no good library is complete without archives. Seriously thought here would be all threads that belong here, mainly old 'book of the month' threads ^^

The Main Page

The Rules and FAQ - This thread will go into the rules in more depth so no one can say 'you didn't say that!'. It will also be where the FAQ will go.

Suggestion - Any and all suggestions will go here.

Book/Author of the month - a book or author of my choosing, although really its more of a ooooh this one looks nice. This book will be featured with its own thread on the main page where a lively discussion/reviews will be done on it. This is primarily per month but it might stay up for 2 or 3 months if I feel like it.
