Amu had been laying in the shade for a while because she had become hot from hanging out with Kuro. The black stallion always seemed to attract the heat and bring it ten fold on them. She had her wings open and it seemed to help cast a bigger shade but it didn't really make her any cooler. Her soft eyes were scanning the area wondering if she would meet anyone new today.

Adalinsia was confused, a common enough state of being for the red mare. Once again, the day had gotten off to a bad start when she had asked her companion Anelisse a question, and gotten a very contradictory response, as usual. Ada didn't know what it was about Soquili in this part of the world, but they were all extraordinarily talented as saying one thing, meaning another, and then getting upset when she couldn't figure out what they actually meant. In her understanding, when someone said that they were fine, it meant that they were fine; if they weren't fine, then they should say so! Yet once again, Anelisse had been in a bad mood today, and when Ada had asked her about it, Anelisse had said with a great deal of forcefulness that she was fine, even while her body language said that was a total lie. It said something about the amount of time Ada had spent with Ane that she had finally figured out that the body language was probably the truth, but it still confused her and she didn't need the silent gesturing of Raccoon to tell her that she ought to go somewhere else for a while. Fortunately, Ada had wings, and was able to easily put some space between herself and the confusingly grouchy Ane. She didn't really have any plan of what to actually DO with her morning; all Soquili were the same, and she wasn't sure if it was a good idea to try chatting with anyone else after the bad start her morning had already taken. One was that strange saying, once bitten, twice shy? Except no one had bitten her...

Amu was relaxing in the shade when she heard the familiar sound of wings getting closer. Hope rose in her throat because she thought it was Kuro but he wouldn't come looking for her would he? She got up and appeared out of the shade to look above into the sky but the sun blinded her. A annoyed sigh came from her as she hurriedly took her head back down, she tried to blink away the spots.

After a spending nearly an hour in transit, Ada was officially ready to take a break and rest herself. Her feet were up for the challenge of taking over, and on the ground she was much more likely to find something to either graze on, drink, lounge on or under, or otherwise occupy herself. She enjoyed flying a great deal, but it did leave her with rather limited options as far as doing things. Being no trick flier and having neither the thought or inclination to learn, flying was primarily a means to get to an end, nothing more.
So, spying a likely-looking landing place in the form of a tree-edged meadow, she pulled up into her descent and made her way into a light touchdown in the thick, well-cushioned grass. If nothing else, she would have a snack handy!

Once her vision had cleared she looked around and noticed that it wasn't Kuro but a rather bright colored mare. She snickered to herself because she had acted foolish, in her mind she wanted it to be Kuro but maybe it was a blessing in disguise. Maybe this mare could be a new friend for her and she could share what was on her mind with her. Amu walked into the meadow and decided to greet her from afar. "Hello." She said the word kind of softly because now she was becoming shy.

Ada hadn't been quite prepared for the appearance of another mare, but while she was surprised, it wasn't necessarily a bad thing to see someone new. Whether it proved to be bad would depend on how this meeting went and just how cryptic this new mare proved to be. After all, she had just come from a stressful situation; the last thing she needed was another!
But she had always lived her life in spirit of charity and kindness, and she returned the other mare's greeting with a smile and nod. "Hello! This is a lovely spot, I would say; do you agree?"

Amu felt completely silly because she wasn't sure how this mare behaved. "Yes it certainly is." She decided to agree with her, she had no idea what she was doing. It was totally unlike her to behave in such a manner but she was at a complete loss for words. Amu found herself just staring at the mare, she had no idea what to say.

Well, that was a start, at least. The other mare had responded simply and concisely, with none of that weird language where she said it made her feel as happy as a clam or any such nonsense. After all, clams couldn't talk, and she doubted that any Soquili would truly want to be happy in such a fashion anyway...so she never quite knew what to make of it when Soquili said such things. Fortunately, she hadn't had to start this conversation off with such a worry!
Simple as the other mare's greeting was, it worked for Ada. Feeling emboldened, she went on. "I have just had a difficult experience, so I thought that getting away from the mare that was perplexing me would be good for both of us. This place seemed pretty, and I hope it helps. I do hope that I don't cause you any trouble, myself."

Amu smiled at the mare and shook her head. "No trouble at all, this place has eased my nerves plenty times over." She decided that being honest was the best policy in this situation and the mare didn't seem like a threat. She relaxed and looked around, she was a little stumped on how to continue the conversation. Words didn't come easy for her oddly enough.

Well, so much for complete clarity. 'Easing my nerves' was definitely an expression that fell into the confusing category for Adalinsia, as she knew that a nerve was something that caused her to feel. The nerves themselves couldn't feel, they merely relayed information, so they themselves didn't feel any emotion that would need to be eased. Fortunately though, for all that it was an expression it was less convoluted, and after a long moment of thought Ada was confident that she understood. "Well, I'm glad that you don't object to sharing. I know that when some Soquilis have places that they find comforting, they just want to keep others away."
If the other mare felt awkward, it had so far escaped Ada; after all, her whole life was full of awkwardness!

Amu couldn't help the laughter that came from her mouth, she found it funny that she looked like the type of soquili who would chase others away. She was more like the type who wanted to run after them and get to know them. Amu really was one of a kind and she knew it deep down, she smiled at her new friend. "I'm anything but a keep away." Her smile had grown as she spoke the words, she now had a full on grin on her face. She was in a really good mood and she was hoping that it didn't change anytime soon.

Well, that made sense; after all, it seemed like it would be hard to be a KeepAway as well as a Soquili! Unless being a Keep Away was something like being a grouch; not actually BEING a KeepAway, but being a Soquili that felt...keepawayish. Yes, that had to be it. It almost made sense when she thought about it like that, though it took her a long time to get to that point. She was learning to deal with those strange phrases Soquili in these parts liked to use, but it was slow going.
Ignorant just how long she had been silently mulling over the other mare's very short phrase, she returned the smile with all the pleasure of one who understood the joke. "I am glad you don't mind sharing; it can be very saddening to find a place I like and then learn that the current resident didn't want me there." Some Soquili might have beat around the bush, but no such games for her!

Amu frowned at the idea that someone could and would even be so mean to run someone away from a water source. No one owns anything, we all are supposed to share the land and the goodies that it gives us all. It was the way she thought and she figured that everyone else thought that way but apparently she was wrong. Could she be wrong about her ideal? She blinked in confusion as she tried to figure out if what she thought was really right or deadly wrong. She decided the only way to find out was to just ask the other mare. "Are we not all suppose to share?" She asked the question as if she really had no idea what to expect anymore.

If Adalinsia was a different sort of Soquili, she might have been suspicious of the other mare. After all, a question like what she had just asked was a rather naive sort of questions; naive, or idealistic. No doubt there were kalona or skinwalkers out there (and even some simply unpleasant regulars) who would be delighted to have the opportunity to demonstrate just how much 'we' were not supposed to do anything.
However, Adalinsia, as she was rapidly proving, was just as naive as the question. When faced with a direct question, she could only blink at the other mare in confusion. What on earth could she mean by them all being supposed to do something? Who were 'they all', and who was it who was making decisions on behalf of the many? It was a good decision, to be sure, but it seemed awfully...troubling. Her concern showed in her face as she slowly drew out, "I'm not sure. Is there someone who would have made such a decision? I'm not aware of any statement either for or against sharing, if I may be honest with you."

Amu kind of froze once the other mare spoke, the things she said to her made no real sense to her at all. She had no real idea how to answer her back except to rephrase her words and try again. "I mean, no one owns anything, you have as much right to drink here as I do." She smiled at the mare, she was feeling thirsty though and decided to dip her head and get her some more water. As she was drinking the water, her long white braid fell forward and got into her way. She huffed with slight annoyance and moved her head in a rapid motion to bring the long braid away from her.
Her head lowered once more trying to get her fill of the water that was before her, she would after all have to return to Kuro soon, he might start to worry. Her soft pink eyes traveled from gazing at the water to the other mare. She finished drinking and rose her head slowly, her mind was contemplating offering the mare a visit to her abode. Before she opened her mouth to speak though, she stopped herself. The invitation could be a possible over stepping of boundaries. Amu smiled at Adalansia and before she could catch herself, she found herself yawning. "I do apologize, but I really should be getting home." She said the words softly, she had no idea how tired she really was until she yawned. "Perhaps we could meet again?" Amu asked the question, being hopeful that perhaps with the right amount of time passed, they could become friends?
