Amenophis became tired of walking around under the hot sun and decided to cool off in the lake. He walked into the water and began to swarm around in circles. The water instantly made his body cool down and he didn't feel as hot as he did before. Although while he was in the water, his gold seemed to weigh him down and it required more strength to move around. He figured he should probably get out of the water before he hurt himself so he quickly moved from the water. There was a nice shade tree close to the lake and he went to lay down in the shade.

The stallion had caught the scent of water, and was slowly making his way over to what appeared to be a lake. His head was lowered, his wings folded, and he walked with a slow, almost heavy, gait. Part of his thick, black mane fell over his face but that was just as well for the stallion. He looked to be an impressive creature, complete with two sets of wings, and a strange but smaller pair upon his head. It wasn't difficult to spot the sort of breed that ran through his lineage . . . .but there was something off about him.
For starters, he really wasn't that large. At all. In fact, he was quite a petite sort of creature, with many a mare actually standing larger than him. Furthermore, he honestly seemed to have a rain cloud over his shoulder, weighing him down. His expression looked serious and grim, and every step he took seemed heavy. It was easy to see he wasn't a particular chipper sort of individual, but such was the way of things.
Not everyone could be happy, after all.
Ignoring the other stallions presence, too lost in thought to worry about who might be around, Ariashi pulled himself up to the waters edge and drank.

Amenophis had drifted off to sleep and had no idea on how long he had been asleep, he opened his eyes as we woke up and he noticed a stallion across the way drinking. In a way the stallion almost looked like him but he was more extravagant than himself. He began to wonder if it was possible that he could be a sibling or maybe his father?! Excitement began to form inside him and he stood up, rather too eager he raced to the water and stopped in front of the stallion. "Who are you may I ask?" He knew it was rude to skip the name bases but he was extremely curious to know more about this particular male.

Ariashi had noticed movement from the corner of his eye, but was surprised to see the figure storm up to him so closely. His head wings flared slightly in alarm, and he involuntarily took a step back. While he was accustomed to Babette getting ridiculously close and snuggly, to have a stranger walk right up to him and demand conversation was . . a bit disconcerting.
Who was this character anyway!? Someone who seemed to be lacking in manners, most certainly. Frowning slightly, not out of anger but more surprise (Ariashi was never one for many smiles, regardless) the stallion gave a small shrug. "I think I should be asking that of you," he murmured quietly, glancing down at the water before looking back at the stranger. So much for quiet contemplation and a drink. . .
"Either way, I'm Ariashi. Why do you wish to know?" Most kept their distance from him, but this other certainly seemed to forget about personal space and manners. Oi. Why did he seem to always attract the crazies!? From Babette (whom he actually liked, even if he thought her a little insane) to his father and mother to this fellow! Why couldn't he just enjoy a quiet afternoon without getting harassed. . .?

Amenophis realized after the other stallion had spoke that he had been extremely rude. He backed up a bit and looked down, took a deep breath and raised his head. "I apologize Ariashi." He decided that a straight out apology would be the best way to start off. "I do not know my family, when I woke from my slumber and my eyes laid upon you, I noticed that you wear gold bands just as I do." He began to explain but once he noticed the reflection of the other stallion he realized how foolish he was behaving. "I thought that perhaps you could be my father or possibly a sibling." He began to get disappointed in himself and just wanted to go and curl up with Amira. He was beginning to miss her, his mind strayed from the stranger as he continued to gaze into the water, almost willing her face to show up next to his in the water.

Ariashi found the entire scene a bit ridiculous, though he could understand (vaguely) why the other might have thought himself to be related. Their colors were very similar, although their markings were not; this stranger was a solid gold with straight (albeit disheveled hair), and a unicorn tail. Ariashi himself had much longer hair, the sort that curled like his own mothers, and his golden coat was mottled with paler and darker spots and splotches. Not to mention his wings . . . all four pairs of them.
Giving a small shake of his head, the stallion glanced back at the water. "No, no it's . . it's all right. I just was startled was all. I'm sorry to hear you know not of your family. . . It's . . .unfortunate." If his words were a little bitter, it was because he knew what it was like to be without family. His mother left when he was young, his brother following not long after; and what of his father, Drashi?
Hmph. Well, he had been so focused on his work and his life in the herd, that he hardly seemed to be around. Oh, sure, Ariashi had never lacked in love and he knew his father had tried but . . . sometimes his trying hadn't been good enough.
Oh well. That was neither here nor there. "May I ask your name?" He might as well; he'd given his own earlier, it was only fair. Besides, they were kindred souls in a sense. Perhaps this stranger was better off though - not knowing ones family took away some of the hurt. Knowing the face of the ones that rejected you was it's own sort of quiet torment.

Amenophis gave a small smile to the other stallion, it was just meant as a sentimental 'thank you' smile. "It is unfortunate..I wonder all the time if they ever truly loved me...or what tragedy could have occurred to leave me here by myself." He trailed off as he finished the last word of the sentence, his mind was playing tricks with him again. It wandered and brought up images of images assumed to be his family and all sorts of incidents happening to them. His body shuddered and he closed his eyes quickly, he wanted the images to seize and never return, but that would never be the case, he knew it deep down. Ameno tried to make his mind remember Amira and all the things about her he loved, it helped him cope sometimes. Within a few moments, the thoughts vanished and were replaced with his love. "I apologize, my mind plays tricks on me, or rather I torture myself with possible endings. My name is Amenophis but you can call me Ameno if you desire." He spoke in a rough voice, he didn't feel too great on the inside and didn't really care how he sounded.
