Super Sailor Kallichore hit the ground running.
Crimson boot heels ground against concrete as she sped off on the tail of a youma she'd detected a few blocks back. Since upgrading, she'd felt almost superhuman (well, she really was superhuman, but perhaps it didn't sink in until now). The gray haired senshi dove head first into youma battles, preparing herself for the inevitable second coming of the Negaverser with the spear. She didn't want revenge, no - simply a chance to prove herself to be on even footing now.
Confidence dripped like sweat from the senshi as she rounded the block, angled sharply but held upright with extreme speed. She'd lost some weight and become lean like a runner. While her father noticed the changes, Kallichore dismissed him and told him she'd taken an interest in exercise and that was the end of the conversation. With billowing tatters on all sides, she looked like a ravenous mental facility escapee on the run from the law, and she liked that fact.
The youma before her bore the shape of a large beast of some kind, capable of standing on its hind legs to thrash nearby buildings and parked cars. It was chasing a young couple that was out for a jog. Kallichore could hear their screams as a fever in her mind, fueling her to continue. She couldn't launch her attack yet - aim had to be perfect since she only had one shot. The couple ducked into a nearby parking lot and wedged themselves between a Hummer and a small compact car. It made them sitting ducks and their energy could easily be sensed by the beastly thing. It salivated at the chance to devour them whole. For whatever reason, it wholly ignored the presence of the senshi behind it, vision tunneling into the civilians just waiting for it.
Picking up a rock, Kallichore chucked it at the youma's head for its attention. It simply ignored her and began to tear apart the Hummer, starting with the doors. The behemoth vehicle rocked back and forth with the force of the blows, causing the female civilian to shriek bloody murder. Kallichore growled and jumped into its back, trying to choke it with one skinny arm.

The Page of Earth was just getting off of work, and had powered up on the roof as usual. He tried not to be conspicuous about it, even going a few buildings down to power up. Just in case someone suddenly felt him pop into being.
Because being two buildings down from the library would definitely make it less obvious who he was, right?
He worried about it constantly, even knowing that he, as all people who could power up into something else, had magic protecting his identity. He just felt unnerved and exposed, and he didn't want to give himself away. not for his own sake, but for those of all the senshi he had ever helped. Not to mention his dog, his friends, and his son. If someone on the wrong side of things caught him, then everyone he cared about could be in trouble for it.
He tried not to think about that, though.
Having made his way back to the library, he climbed his way down from the rooftop. He noticed the spark in the back of his mind from pure energy, looking around and spotting the source. A senshi, he confirmed, and one he had seen before. But again, as was often the case, only as his civilian identity. She wouldn't know him.
A double edged sword, that magic.
He moved over to see if she needed help with the youma she was chasing, cutting off its path only to see it get distracted by a Hummer it decided it hated. There were civilians present, and Camelot's protective instincts kicked in.
"Stay calm!" he yelled to the panicking civilians hiding between the cars, who ignored him expertly. He moved to climb up onto the car, to get the youma's attention. He saw the senshi on its back then. "Oh. Hello. Need some help?" he asked.

With the continued and unabated shrieking of the female civilian, Kallichore tried to hold her grip onto the beast of a youma. It was covered in a thick, somewhat oily fur that caused her hands to slip right off of it. Grabbing onto an ear or a horn did little to help and the senshi finally gave up trying to keep on top of the thing. It still ignored her.
Someone appeared on the roof of the car, someone she'd never seen before. A shield? Since when did a senshi hold a weapon? Now wasn't the time to ask and she nodded vigorously to his request. "Yes, if you could help me take this thing down... I don't want it hurting anyone!"
The civilians took no heed to that as the man tried to comfort the woman. Once someone else showed up, he began to lose his cool as well. Kallichore knew this newcomer was on the side of good - she could tell by his energy signature, but he seemed a little... old for a senshi. The gray haired teen began to kick and punch the youma as best she could to get its attention, all to no avail. It seemed quite interested in the man on the roof of the car. He looked quite tasty. It began to ravenously claw its way up to the roof of the car but gained more success in bringing the roof down to its level.
Camelot on a Hummer platter. Mmm.

"Nor do I," Camelot said. Sometimes he got a bit too into character, and it carried into his speech. It wasn't a conscious effort, so much as a day dream forcing itself into reality. Over the years of collecting many books on knights and adventures, he had often imagined himself in the heroic situations he dreamed about.
Reality had proven quite different for a while there, with all the scrambling and actually being the damsel in distress that he had experienced. It had, for a little while there, put him off those fantasies and the ideal vision of the hero he had carried around with him. But now, suddenly, he actually was a knight, and things had come full circle. He had new faith in himself and the very concept of knighthood.
And his day dreams were back, with new life. In moments like this, it was near impossible to keep little habits from his readings and imaginings from slipping into his reality.
Feeling particularly triumphant and heroic today, the knight stood his ground, then hopped from the roof as it began to sink. His face was set, though on the inside his inner monologue was flying.
Don't just stand there. You're going to get eaten. Oh God it's coming this way. Get off the car! It's going to bite me. Oh s**t. Hey I can jump on it. Don't get clawed. Don't fall. Don't look like an idiot.
He managed to plant his feet on either side of the youma's head, landing on its shoulders and looking down at it in surprise. It was difficult to balance, but he tried to make it look less so, holding out his arms carefully as he considered his options. He decided to jump away from it, landing on the ground near the senshi behind the youma, shoving it into the car with the force of his jump.
His face lit up when he landed and looked at the senshi, though he forced the impossibly happy expression away as quickly as he could. He was feeling exhilarated, thinking that had looked exceptionally skilled.

The youma gurgled in surprise when its face was forcibly wed to the Hummer's interior without so much as a courtship. There wasn't even a ring to place on the Hummer's steering wheel, and there certainly wouldn't be a honeymoon. While Kallichore was busy sizing up the situation, the youma's head became jammed in what remained of the door and window. It grunted and tried to pry itself free of the blasted thing, only to find it wore the door like a hideous metal necklace. It looked stupefied and angry, and set its sights on the two powered individuals now instead of the civilians cowering behind the carcass of the vehicle. The civilians took their leave and escaped through the bushes surrounding the parking lot and disappeared.
The gray haired senshi shook her head. "At least they're safe now, and we can concentrate on this thing." Readying herself into a battle stance, Kallichore wore a look of utter determination on her face. Whoever this guy was, he was agile enough to keep himself from getting hurt, and was actually quite useful. Something could be said for someone who chose the path of action rather than running away. The senshi stood up straight as the youma roared and looked like it was about to charge Camelot.
"Surge of the Maddened!"
A thick, heatlike wave spread out from the senshi and rushed at the youma, disappearing like smoke into the very fiber of its being. What this would do to it was beyond the senshi, but she hoped it worked. The beast of a monster looked confused for a moment, turned abruptly to the right and charged, ramming itself into another truck. Well, that worked to some degree. She turned to Camelot. "Do you... think you could help me kill it?"

Camelot grinned at his accomplishment, watching as the youma struggled to free itself from the Hummer. One dead Hummer and one trapped youma? Not bad for a day's work, certainly. The Knight watched them both, though really it was the youma that needed the most attention.
The Hummer was out of the fight.
The youma managed to get itself out, though, and Camelot tensed when he thought it was coming for him. He planted his feet and readied to defend, keeping an eye on Kallichore as well, not wanting her to get hurt. He had seen her hurt before, after all, and was not keen on letting her fall into that position again.
He watched as the senshi called her attack, blinking in wonder. The smoke seemed to be absorbed by the youma and he wondered for a moment if it hadn't been effective. When it took off randomly, though, Camelot imagined she had managed to do something to it. Made it act out without control?
"I think so. My shield isn't much for being used as a weapon, but if we can get the youma down and ah... well... smash its head in..." that was his usual method for dealing with these things, and so far it worked. He may or may not have adopted the method out of a mixture of necessity and a chance viewing of a zombie movie.

Kallichore scoffed. "A shield is better than my fist or my boot any day. This thing's got armor thicker than these cars." Pushing some gray hair from her face, brown eyes kept a vigil on the stumbling monstrosity that just pulled itself free of the car it had decided to hug. Those cars, they sure do need love. "If you can crush its skull or something with that thing, color me grateful."
It was the truth too, and before Kallichore could elaborate further, the creature let loose something that resembled the b*****d love child of a blech, a roar, a wheeze and a string of curse words in a foreign language. It managed to turn itself around to face the general direction of the two powered individuals, which made the super senshi slightly nervous. It meant either her power didn't affect it very much, or the hallucinations were moving in such a way that Camelot was again visible. Either way, the senshi moved to stand near the knight and see what she could do to assist. With her power used up, it was only a matter of time before things got ugly. Kallichore didn't like ugly.
The youma took two menacing steps forward. It wobbled on its axis slightly, indicating its vision was still swimming from a multitude of things. She started to look around for something that might prove useful since her punches and kicks were about as effective as a dry sneeze.

The Page of Earth nodded his head. He imagined she was right: punching that thing would feel very much like punching a wall, and he doubted either would like to do it. He knew from some conversations and some trials that his strength was more physical than a senshi, but that did not mean he wanted to go around using his fists.
if he could avoid that, it would be great.
The sound that erupted from the youma drew his attention, and he almost winced at it. He wasn't sure if he should feel bad for the thing or not, though it was partly his fault it was so mad, of course. He frowned at the youma, tense.
When it looked at him he lifted his eyebrows in surprise. Was it supposed to be looking at him?
Holding his shield up in front of the duo, he looked at Kallichore and noticed she was trying to find a weapon. He caught her intentions and left her to it, deciding to take the fight to the youma while it was still stunned. He leaped at it, bringing his shield forward and slamming it into the thing's head. He tried to turn it to ensure it didn't see Kallichore and give her a chance to find something to fight with.
"This way, you big lug," he said, swinging his shield at it again.

Calling the youma a lug must've offended it, for it turned around and let loose something awful from that mouth of its. Drool spread like disease as it coursed down the mutated chin and hit the ground with a wet slap. Without so much as a second thought (Kallichore doubted they ever received more than one of the blessed things), the youma charged the offending Page, intent on crushing him into the pavement like a smear. Kallichore was ready, willing and possibly able to provide aid, though the effectiveness was questionable. The senshi's attack was beginning to wear off though the youma still showed signs of unsteadiness. That could be used to Camelot's full advantage.
What the youma lacked in balance, it tried to make up for in speed and power. Leaning precariously from side to side, it continued to charge quite blindly as Kallichore looked around for something more effective and impressive than her damned boots. Right now, she wished she was a bodybuilder. Or Arnold.

Camelot looked in dismay at the youma as it began to drool. Youma were, in general, disgusting and awful. He had rarely met any that were cute, and they usually only started that way before turning into something hideous. At least this one skipped that unnecessary step.
It knew it was horrifying.
Not wanting to be crushed or turned into any kind of smear, be it on the pavement or a nearby wall or anything else, Camelot braced himself for the youma's charge as best he could, noting that it had a drunken stumble to it that he could still use. The magic might have been wearing off, or not as effective as wanted in the first place, but it still clearly hindered the ugly thing.
He forgot about Kallichore for a moment, needing to be get his head in the game and focus on bringing the youma down.
His shield was in front of him as the youma cut the distance between them. He moved forward as it charged and he leaped. He pulled his arm back and, though he knew it was going to sting, slammed his shield forward as hard as he could to slam it into the youma's face. He had a lot of hope for the attack. He hoped it would be effective enough to either bring the thing down, or at least cripple it enough for Kallichore to find something to finish it off with.
It wasn't like he could do it again. The shield burst into splinters stubbornly.

Color her impressed.
The youma wasn't expecting the older knight to fight back, least of all with force like he did. The shield's slam dazed it something fierce and it moaned, whirling around before it hit the pavement with a dull thud. It groaned and tried desperately to turn over, but to no avail. If this was a cartoon, the youma's head would be orbited by tiny yellow chicks, chirping and twirling about. Kallichore took this opportunity to find something to beat the thing senseless with. If it had any senses left to beat.
She ran over to the wreckage of the Hummer, finding it in utter pieces and the area utterly devoid of people. While she could hear the youma's moaning and heavy breathing, she raced to find something sharp and damaging. Something pointy, hopefully, that she could beat it to death with.
Oh, would you look at that? A broken gear shift. Oh, and how convenient! A rather large chunk of broken glass still attached to part of the car in a relatively safe manner. There must've been a god or goddess watching over them with a horribly morbid sense of humor. Taking up the gear shift for herself (oh how she knew just where to put it!), she returned to the knight and handed him the glass. "Very nice. Couldn't have done it better myself." she said, a grateful smile on her face. Turning to the youma, she took four paces and was near its head. In one swift thrust, the youma could now shift from neutral into mostly dead from the lever in its neck.

Camelot took a moment to bask in the triumph of actually being useful in a fight for once. Usually it took him a moment of wild flailing and intense thought to try and come up with an effective battle tactic for these kind of things. For some reason, today was going his way, he felt like, and he was actually looking for more impressive than he was used to.
Of course, as soon as this occurred to him he became over aware of himself, and had to compensate for his sudden surge of confidence with some kind of skill to back it up.
And he couldn't very well finish the youma off now, with his shield broken. Usefulness diminished, he deflated a bit but perked up when he saw Kallichore swoop in.
"Oh, thank you," he said politely, like she had just handed him a flower not meant for killing a monster in any way. He took the glass and returned her smile, thinking they had made a good team so far. Following her lead, he moved to finish the mostly dead youma, almost wincing as he jammed the piece of glass into another part of its neck.
The youma burst into a fit of dust, by far its least effective attack of the night.
Coughing and swatting his hand in front of his face, Camelot gathered himself then grinned at Kallichore.
"Well that was fun."

"Certainly a workout..." she agreed, nodding once.
Turning to face him fully, she received the opportunity to look him over fully. An older man with greens and browns. Very nature-colored. And the shield he once had was broken into splinters, but like a senshi, did it regenerate? And who was he? He was useful, that was for certain, and that was to be commended. "Sir, I hate to be rude, but who are you?" Kallichore wrung her hands together to keep herself busy. If she didn't know any better, she'd start posing all sorts of rude and probing questions to find out more about this person than she needed to know.
His energy signature did not ring of a senshi, but it was an energy of light and goodness. She'd never met someone like him before. If he was a senshi, he was very unusual. No bows, no tiara, and a weapon. She didn't know of any senshi with a weapon. Maybe it was a new thing? She tilted her head in anticipation of his answer. Who was he? And where could she get some armor of her own?
She shifted her weight back onto her other hip. He may have been part of another faction she'd felt glimpses of in the past? Someone who was on the side of good, but not quite a senshi? Perhaps it was an in-between class?

Camelot smiled, his green eyes glinting with understanding.
It wasn't the first time he had been asked a question like that, and until every member of the negaverse and of the senshi met a knight he imagined it would not be the last. As far as he understood it, the knights were a new 'class' of fighters in this war, their own brand of warriors who had no true side. He felt that gave them a purpose that ran deeper than fighting and killing.
They had to protect one another, protect and save civilian lives and, if he could imagine a perfect world, end the war. To him, life and the idea of a 'normal' existence for kids who deserved to grow up regardless of who they were or what they were fighting for, were the most important things to fight for in his own right.
"My name is Camelot. I'm a knight, ah. A page of Earth." He looked at the little circle with a plus in the marking, the sign of Earth, that was on his clothes. "I defend this city, these people, as best I can. At least, that's the goal."

The gray haired senshi tilted her head, brows furrowing together in confusion. His explanation of his purpose seemed to be like that of a senshi, yet he wasn't a senshi? How odd. "So," she said, shifting her weight again onto the other leg. "You're not a senshi, but you're on the side of good, if my understanding is correct? What makes you and yours different, if you don't mind me asking? Aside from the lack of a miniskirt, that is."
She certainly knew beggars couldn't be choosers, and she herself didn't ask to take up the mantle of the tiny skirt to defend people from harm. In fact, she thought Camelot got the greater deal there - no skirt, just armor, armor, and some fancy cloth. Oh, and armor. Kallichore recognized the planetary symbol for Earth, but didn't put it together with a class other than a senshi. She'd seen some unusual fuku in the past (hello, Ganymede) but Camelot's had taken the cake in her mind. Now she knew a bit more about the knights, or just this one in particular.
So what made them so different? His energy signature read as light. Did they too have starseeds? Obviously he had a planet, but he was standing on it, unlike every other senshi she'd ever met. "A page of Earth..." she repeated, mulling the words over in her head and mouth. A page was a knight-in-training if she remembered her history classes correctly. Knights sounded like they could be quite usefu.
