The Noble estate Gardens had been built as a homage to the passing greats of history. Although many in the district could afford a luxury as having a grand garden to call their own it still felt appropriate to have one that all could visit…as long as you lived here of course. Decked out in beautiful flowers, tall grass and bountiful bushes the garden boasted of a pond and small waterfall, benches and mowed grass for summer sitting. It was a world away from worlds and often used for early morning strolls in the comfort of beauty.

This was the setting of A’Meiya ‘play date’ Her hair was loose and curling softly under her cheek, her dress had been checked, checked and rechecked to make sure it was the perfect colour to match this seasons foliage and would not clash with what Shin-Mu would hopefully wear. Her mother had given her a bag of mochi balls as a peace offering if conversation was not flowing and some simple words of advice. “Don’t. Be. Yourself.” and here she was ready and waiting and on tender hooks. Yuk Lan one of the Quan servants was standing to one side, sour faced and twice as ugly she peered down at A’Meiya who had unknowingly gathered an handful of hair and was chewing on it relentlessly.

I dare say Sadao-san will care to hear of you destroying your chances so soon A’Meiya. If I mean to overstep my mark but I think it would be best if you don’t eat your hair right now.” Simple words but laced with venom Mei didn’t even bother to turn around as she began to spit the hair out, dragging loose ends that were now plastered to her face in spit. Oh this wasn’t going to be fun.

“What time will she be here? Am I late? Is she late? Oh you don’t think she came, saw me and left do you?” Frantic hands balled into fists as she fidgeted from one foot to another as if performing an erratic dance. She could almost feel the rolling eyes of Yuk Lan behind her and she stifled a sigh of inpatient.

“Are you saying I would bring you to this meeting late? A’Meiya I would prefer it if you did not being my standard of work into conversation again. You are on time, Shin-Mu will be on time but another outburst like that and I will have to tell your Father –" “- Step-Father-" “…yes, well be quite, she will be approaching soon.”

A delicate sigh escaped dark, glossed lips as the dark noble youth made her way along the path at the entrance of the gardens. Somber gaze down cast towards the endless array of blossoming flowers in neat little rows throughout the lush lawns. Looking at the lovely buds, but not truly seeing them. Her mind wandering elsewhere, cycling thoughts, both current and past. With all that had happened to her in so short of time a trivial thing like a meeting for tea seemed terribly unimportant, yet here she was.

Her parent's weren't aware of recent trauma, both physical and emotional, and Shin had not enlightened them. Everything that had happened, every bruise and busted fragment of pride and heart, all of it was intertwined with Huang fu and her own naive carelessness. Sire and mother did not need to know, would not know. In fact, the only living soul who had a clue to the majority of Shin-mu's weighing woes was Chen, the burly attended that was currently trailing her like a mammoth, silent shadow.

When Father had told her of this meeting, the young woman had agreed without waver. As she always had, and likely always would. There was no love between, but duty was strong, and if she could not have his affection, she would have his pride. He had said go, and here she was.

Removing one delicate hand from the sheer fall of her own sleeves, the girl trailed the tips of her fingers along the blooming petals at the cusp of a bush she walked beside. Plucking at a silken, Shin let the petals fly in the gentle breeze as she turned a corner in the path and looked up to see A'Meiya. Automatically the darker maiden offered a smile, duty and manners forcing the corners of her mouth, though it lingered longer then it might have for the gentle look of the girl before her.

She hadn't heard the conversation between young noble and servant, and it was good that she hadn't, but the hard look of the woman standing off to one side thawed the warmth in Shin's features, and after regarding the woman coolie she turned her attention to her peer. Stopping a small distance before her, and dipping her chin in the barest of nods. It wasn't a bow, the lady knew her place well, but it was more then she'd had to give and A'Meiya should feel suitably honored.

"A'Meiya I presume." Her voice was soft, welcoming. Part of it trained through endless etiquette lessons, but part of it simple openness to meet someone who appeared a kind soul. She had not been what Shin was expecting, a pleasant surprise.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 03, 2011 9:24 am

A’Meiya waited with bated breath as she watched the figure making her way towards them and was spellbound by what she saw. “Oh…wow…” Eyes wide to the point of breaking she looked on as Shin-Mu move towards them with graceful poise, so polished, like every step was viewed and judged so they were flawless every time. She was defined, like a diamond cut to perfection. Her Step-Father was right, if there was anyone who could teach her the etiquette of being a Noble of status there would be no other who would come close. The young girl hadn’t even spoken and A’Meiya wanted to listen to any words that would leave her lips with an eagerness that made her tremble. She wasn’t sure if she could do this now. The nervous butterflies in the pit of her stomach started to sink low and suddenly she wanted to throw up, like, everywhere. “Uhhh…”

If it wasn’t for Yuk Lan sensing the girls nauseated panic, swiftly poking her in the back with a bony finger to distract her it may have just been the case. A low murmur of distaste hissed quickly behind her as Shin-Mu approach was mere seconds away. “A’Meiya! Don’t you dare show your Step Father up! He is asking a lot from you, don’t disappoint!!
but from a pathetic stupid ‘Zhu’ spawn like yourself why bother! The whisper was barely audible but Mei still heard its sting. It was a cruel nickname her brothers had made up and now adopted by servants or people who came into contact with her. Jokingly at first but as time went on people felt it suited her, explained the erratic behaviour, her inability to grasp the simplest task or her endless stupidity. She had heard the rumours and the gossip, she may be slow but she could still hear. A gulp of hatred replaced the fear as her last name echoed in her head next to the cursed insult, Zhu, her original much preferred last name. The sickness didn’t feel so bad now with the tears threatening to spill instead. “I will not disappoint Mister Sadao-San” she said carefully to not let the spite sound in her voice. She didn’t want this to be the first impression Shin-Mu had of her, she didn’t want to prove Yuk Lan right. After the elegant bow Shin- Mu performed A’Meiya gave her own, lower than her guest as was expected of someone with her own status.

“Yes I am A’Meiya, step-daughter of the renowned businessman Quan Sadao and daughter to Quan Fung Mee and my late father Zhu Yung Fa. I appreciate you meeting with me today out of respect for our fathers, I hope from today we become firm friends.” It was here that Mei started making mistakes. She had pulled it off, made a respectful first introduction without a common slang word in sight and it was easy! Even Yuk Lan relaxed behind her as she nodded in agreement, her own low bow completed quickly (but hers more or less toughing the floor!). If it was this easy to become relaxed then she may as well continue and her mouth opened before Yuk Lan could do anything more. “It is an honour to met someone of your status Lady Shin Mu. I know little about you, except your wonderful dress sense of course! And your hair! It has beautiful highlights and lowli– OW!” Another skilfully placed jab between the shoulder blades stopped Mei continuing her gabbing instantly. Her eyes nearly spilled the tears if it were not for who she was standing in front off, a flickering of an apologetic smile filled her face. A’Meiya did not do grace, elegance or at a push manners. But she did so want to be those things, if not for anything more than to have the presence this girl commanded, to be someone more than a dead man’s mistake. An idea formed and she took a chance. Now or never.

“Shin-Mu…can I call you Shin-Mu? I guess I can since its your name, but do you mind…I know this is awful but if we…can, you know…can we walk alone…without our chaperones?” It was a very bold, silly question to ask. Here was Shin Mu a complete stranger being asked to risk her life in the hands of another complete (and very possible crazy) stranger. If her eyes did beg ‘pleeeeassseee’ her clasped hands and leaning torso towards her may give the signal she wanted to escape from here.

“Just for a walk within the garden confines, I promise no further out, even if its just round the lake? Our escorts can entertain themselves for a while am sure of it!”

That carefully placed smile never wavered 'pon the maiden's lips as A'meiya made more formal introductions. In fact, if anything the smile grew, the pleasant surprises where the other girl was concerned building. The delicate point of her chin dipped where appropriate, nodding in agreement or understanding as A'Mei mentioned their fathers and the arranged meeting set up by them.

The compliments were also nice, and the barest hints towards smugness flickered into the set of fine features before Shin-mu blinked, surprised as a startled yelp of pain interrupted the paler girl's speaking. For a flickering moment she didn't realize what had happened, but a glance over A'Meiya's shoulders let her see the disgusted expression and general sourness of the attendant standing behind her. Blush hued brows twitched upward curiously, and a thoughtful expression sobered any hints of her previous smile. From her understanding the other noble lass was of higher standing. Perhaps not as high as her own, but of a respectable status nonetheless. That the older woman behind dared put hands upon her, regarded her ward with such obvious contempt, did not sit well with the refined youth. Not one little bit.

Cooling eyes narrowed unhappily before softening again as her peer once more requested her attention, and she was pleased by the proposal to separate themselves from their attendants. In fact, had A'Mei not suggested it, Shin would have likely sent the other woman away, escorted out of her sight by her loyal Chen. The burly mountain of a man a subtle distance away was not, as the other had labeled him, a chaperone, but she let it slide. The titles we not important. "You may address me as such if you like." She was more used to Lady Shin-mu, but as of late, the only ones to call her such were those that persisted in causing her pain. "And a walk around the gardens sounds like a lovely idea."

There was no worry in her mind about being separated from Chen. He was a guard, but she was not some fragile blossom to be protected. She was a graduating soul conduit, on the edge of her finals, and she could most certainly hold her own in a battle. Her ever present dizi was tucked within the metallic cinch that circled her thin waist, she was armed. "Chen, do keep A'Meiya's attendant occupied, won't you?" It was subtle, but the message would be clear to the large man. Keep the other woman here, away from herself and her new companion. She didn't want to see her. He bowed, and walked past Shin's side, large blunt fingers moving to curl around Yuk Lan's upper arm to escort her a little aways.

With that taken care of, Shin turned a bit of an impish smile to A'Meiya. "Now then, Shall we?"

The look on her face said it all, relief, pure freedom. Her smile couldn’t have grown any bigger as she watched Yuk Lan being led away and even better that it was more on the heavy handed side of being led away. The guard dwarfed Yuk Lan so much that she seemed to be hiding in his shadows and her expression remain white and emotionless as she stared daggers over at Mei but there was no doubt she was nervous under the watchful eye of this brute she didn’t protest, this meeting couldn’t last forever.

Mei on the other hand was almost jumping with excitement. The two had started to walk away with Shin-Mu’s blessing and they slowly made their way through the flower garden. Although flowers were sprinkled across the whole acre it was here in this small sanctuary that they had been carefully positioned and managed for perfect symmetry. No colour classed, no size was over shadowed. Each flower had been studied and pruned and cared for that it was a rare occurrence to find a blemish of any nature. This was A’Meiya’s favourite part.

“Oh wow did you see that I mean, ohh!... *ahem*...I mean I can’t say how grateful I am for your…‘help’ back there. Yuk Lan is…well…she not the…you can’t say she is…err.” It was showing on the student’s face how she was trying to word this part without using any of the colourful language she had picked up at the dock. It was proving difficult to remain a lady of status when all you wanted to do was bury someone neck dip in horse manure.

“My Step-Father would not let me leave without a chaperone; Yuk Lan is his most…senior member of staff. It was only natural for her to want to over see this meeting but we don’t exactly see eye to eye, I know its very subtle haha.” She stated while kicking an over grown blade of grass beneath her wedged shoes. Her pretty toes had been painted a brilliant pink to contrast with her pale green dress, her bows has been ironed and washed and then ironed some more for this event. It wasn’t surprising that every so often a hand would come to tug at her waist or the hem of her skirt to get into a more comfortable position.

“I think I need to get me one of those big chaps you have!” she giggled forgetting her place for a moment. It was very hard for her to keep levelled headed while in company of those that could. Hopefully Shin-Mu would be able to tell Mei was not cut from the same cloth as herself, although thrust into this world she was not born and bred from it. Every day would be a continuing struggle to be accepted in the eyes of others, especially if she continued like this. Which for the time being she seemed happily oblivious to the rumours and gossip that surround her. Stopping for a second as if to ponder her next question Mei turned to her ally with a soft smile. There was so much to find out about Shin-Mu but so little time. She had to choose her questions carefully, be prise with every moment and to waste a second.

“So…do you like…Mochi balls?”

Pale spring eyes watched on in satisfaction as the older woman was led away from them, painted lips twitching upward in almost a cold smile. She was still glaring at the young woman beside her, but in time that would end, Shin-mu would see to it. She despised though that acted above their station in such obvious and cocky ways. The horse faced attendant considered herself untouchable, superior where she was not, and that was going to change if Shin had anything to do with it.

Sniffing sharply, the girl smoothed hands down her thighs, smoothing pale silks before she and A'Meiya started walking. Admiring the careful placement of flowers where it was apparent great skill and effort was put into their selection and arrangement. It was lovely, beautiful to look at, but she had frequented this garden on many occasions. She was more interested on her new companion's thoughts on what had just occurred.

They were, when they came, a little less then articulate, and it pulled Shin's gaze from the blossoms and up to A'Mei, a single pale brow arching curiously. She didn't mind, but it was a little surprising. Still, her speech patterns weren't important.

"She is a shrew of a woman and terribly disrespectful." It was clear by her tone she disliked the woman. "Does she always look at you like that?" She was especially curious on this point. Aware that she would need to learn the extent of the issue before anything can be done about it. The girl beside her was a nice, kind young lady, and clearly was not aware of her placement in society. Shin-mu would have to educate her. Manners, poise, speech, and confidence. Her clothing was already more then acceptable, she looked lovely.

The jump in conversation shook the dark noble from her internal musings, and she blinked at the other. "Chaps?" Fingertips rested lightly on the metallic hued cinch at her waist, gaze dropping to look herself over, lips pursing thoughtfully.

She was thankful for the quick shift onto something more familiar, and bobbed her chin in a small nod. "I do, they go very well with tea."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 10, 2011 9:41 am

Mei face almost erupted in smiles as she heard the reply she had sought for and before the young girl could put a stop to any further shenanigans A’Meiya had flung her purse up high above them. The stings flapped furiously in the air before falling with a squishy thud in her hands. Now she thought about it maybe that wasn’t the best idea but either way she had sweet things to eat and someone to share them with and the soft grin plastered on her face was getting bigger with every second.

“My Ma thought it would be a wonderful idea to break the uhh….the ice I think she called it, with these mochi balls -"] she swung them a little by the strings to prove they were indeed real before slipping it over her wrist for safe keeping. “- and I promise I only ate one, but I don’t feel there is any need for ice breaking do you? –" she paused at this to give Shin-Mu a slanted head tilt as if by this action frost crystals would suddenly appear between them. “No I don’t think so.” She said matter of factly and ended the statement with a firm nod. She signalled to move on by well…starting to walk away. Mei was not one for correct procedure; there would be a lot of work for Shin-Mu to do if she ever took on the role as mentor for this confused student.

“Oh you wanted to know about Yuk Lan didn’t you! Well…well Yuk Lan is one of many, I think it is only me who feels different but if those with her thoughts were made into a tree it would snap in half for being so top heavy with gossip and rumours.”] Her words were accompanied with a chopping motion, her hand slicing neatly though the air to land in her other upturned palm, nodding all the while. “I believe she will always see me as beneath her because…well I guess I am in a way.” Pulling a face she shrugged as her arms started to swing back and fro, her legs copying the movement in an almost military style as they made their way around the gardens.

“I wasn’t born into status you see, my father was a fisherman and my mother was just a tailor, although a very good one I assure you. But that doesn’t stop Yuk Lan from feeling I have degraded the household name of Quan, tainted it with fish she says, but never in Mothers presences of course, and no one believes me especially when I state it to be so. They are not…they are not very nice people but am ok, I try and ignore it the best I can.” She gave a half hearted smile, her attempt at reassuring Shin-Mu that she was bothered by it at all. It was only then that she realised maybe she shouldn’t have said so much about her poor upbringing, this was after all a girl of high status and tastes.

Pale eyes followed the motion of the purse as it was flung upward, painted lips pursing thoughtfully. It was certainly not proper behavior, terribly unladylike, but she kept her comments to her self. Not yet aware that she would be taking this girl under her wing, so to speak. For now she left her to her won devices, taking a grain of amusement from her free spirit. It was actually a little refreshing.

"Your mother sounds like a very nice woman, and smart." And loving. The last was kept her herself though. There was a thread of jealousy there from the conduit. She knew her own mother loved her, that was never under question, but she considered herself lucky if the woman graced her daughter with her presence once a week. They were always busy, her parents. She did not begrudge them their work, accepting things as they were, but she did wonder what it would be like if they had a more traditional house hold.

A return to the topic at hand was welcome. Familiar ground she was comfortable with, good at. "My impressions are correct then." She gave a sharp sniff, spring gaze narrowing slightly as she regarded a honey bee dancing from flower to flower. "You are mistake then, my new friend," she looked up again, offering the other girl a sly sort of smile. "Whatever your place in the past, it makes little difference in the present." Role model or not, she would offer this bit of knowledge and advise happily.

"Consider if you will your mother. By marrying her new husband she had taken on his status in society. It is the same with all marriages between people of differing hierarchy." The lower becomes the upper, benefiting from the high standing of their new connection. It is not always done for social climbing, but it is always true. "With your mother's climb to nobility, you're status raises with hers, and your new step father's, until you marry."

She came to a slow stop, reaching out to place a hand on A'Meiya's arm to bring her to a stop. "Yuk Lan treats you as she does because she knows she can get away with it. She dare not do so in front of your mother because she knows it is not allowed. You are above her, and I believe it is time she learn her proper place, do you not agree?"
PostPosted: Thu Jun 23, 2011 11:29 am

A’Meiya’s eyes grew wide with new thoughts that tumbled threw her mind like wind swept leaves. She never thought of it like that. Never dared question or tell Yuk lan off for being mean to her. Her Step-Father never made her feel special, or ‘one of them’, so why should his oldest servant? His love for her mother was unmistakable, probably the only reason why he even allowed Mei to stay in the house with her own room and not with the servants in their designated areas.

“I guess…” she started trying to think of the words, it was almost like she was chewing on that bee Shin had watched while her tongue stuck deep into the side of her mouth as she thought carefully.

“I guess I didn’t think I could say anything. Yuk Lan is a treasured employee of the Quan household, if I was to speak up and say something. Well I can only imagine they would brand me a liar…and if my mother was to agree. Aaeeii, I can’t even imagine the arguments it will cause!” Her hands shot up to her face to plant her cheeks between them, her gloves bunched up at the palms as she shook her head.

“Oh Shin-Mu, I agree, I really do, please do not take my panic as a sign of disagreement!” Her whine was almost high pitched in her protest. Her head shook rapidly side to side to make sure she never meant it that way and yet a heavy sigh followed in quick pursuit as she looked over at the student.

“I am not a brave as you Shin-Mu. I may train in body to be strong but I don’t think my mind has caught up yet…on any level…Pfft-haha” She couldn’t help the laughter from escaping her lips as she covered them with a hand. Truer words had never been spoken and for once A’Meiya had noticed.

“Sorry Shin-Mu, you are very kind to listen to my problems, we have only just met and I feel like I have put an awful lot on your shoulders. If you have any troubles you wish to share, anything you think I could help with please, just let me know!”

It was a kind gesture but if Shin-Mu was the intelligent witty person she seemed to be she could guess that A’Meiya would probably add to her problems than give good advice for them.

The dark noble watched intently as the other girl thought over what she'd just said, soft green eyes slightly narrowed as a smirk curled slowly along full lips. There was a fierce sort of pride connected to what she was doing, and she was quickly finding that this, helping her new friend, was a welcome distraction from the recent heart arches in her life.

"Forgive me for asking this so boldly, A'Meiya," she started, sliding her hand from the girl's arm to catch her fingers so she could hold her pale hand in both of her own. "But would it be accurate to assume, on those occasions you have spoken up, that you approached the issue with fear and insecurity?" It wasn't the nicest thing to say, and she knew that, but she needed to know just how her new friend handled situations before moving forward.

If she were right then it was clear to Shin where the problem lay, and she would be happy to help A'Meiya gain strength and poise. It was a sad truth, but truth all the same. The Strong abhorred the weak, and branded them useless. The lord of Mei's household was a strong individual, noble and proud, and she could see where his tolerance and trust may not be extended to the girl standing before her. He was grown, set in his ways, and not likely to change.

Shin-mu on the other hand was still young, and no so hard that she would not help person she was quickly considering a friend.

Releasing her hand she reached up to cup A'Mei's cheeks gently, leaning in as he voice softened. "I wouldn't dream of taking your fear as anything but it is." She smiled, both reassuring and sly. "I can help you A'Meiya, if you so desire it. I can make you the strong and confident noble expected of your station, and not Yuk Lan, nor your step father will have a sour word to say of you. I assure it."

As far as her own woes? She did not speak of them, not with anything still blessed with life. However what she said was, "Of course."

The student wasn’t expecting Shin-Mu to take her hand but the obvious shock was quickly dismissed with a warm smile and an almost grateful sigh. The girl looked up at the other and saw only wisdom and kindness, even if her words pinched at Mei’s consciousness as she unhappily agreed with the statement.

“Yes, I just fear so much for the outcome that I would rather the house staff have their fun at my expense, I know I am not the smartest….but I wish I could prove them wrong.”

A’Meiya blinked slightly as the hand caught her face softly, she felt like crying. Here was a girl from such a status who was willing to look past all that defined her! Her Step-father would be happy of course, this is what he wanted but…she didn’t want this for him. Shin-Mu was kind, and smart and everything that she wasn’t! She felt like she could be the Noble everyone expected of her instead of the disappointment she had become. She wanted to change that. She wanted to change. She no longer wanted to be kicked out of bath houses for messing about, or starting food fights…or being chased by the villages again for indecent exposure! Shin-Mu’s words came thick and fast that the young girls head started to swim. If she could froth at the mouth she would be doing.

“You would help me? Me? As in me, me!?”
It wasn’t known if the other academy student was prepared for loud squealing girls but she was going to get it either way! The flash of colour, streaming tears and a high pitched squeal came at shin-Mu from all sides as A’Meiya literally threw herself at the girl hugging the very life out of her as she did it.

“Whhhaaa, SHIN MU!!! *sniff* Y-YOUR SO, *sniffsniff* YOU-UR SO, SO…Ku-Ku-Ku-KIND!!!WHAAA!!!”

Ears would bled.

Shin-mu was not prepared for the squealing, crying mess of a girl that came at her, but she reacted to it exceptionally well, all things considered. Stiffening at first with arms trapped between then, ears pressing back along the sides of her head with a small wince. "A'Meiya," she prompted, and probably without success, voice slightly strangled from the pressure of the hug. The girl was strong, it was surprising. After a moment the dark noble began to relax, and with a delicate chuckle she slide her arms free from between them so she could curl them around the excited girl before her.

"Mei," she leaned forward to lay her lips along the other girls cheek, speaking ear her ear. "Young ladies of class retain their composure in moments of excitement." Well, if she was going to take this girl under her wing, she might as well start the lessons now.

Unwinding her arms from around Mei's narrow waist Shin reached up to very gently pry the the other girl's arms from around her shoulders. Letting fingers slide along her wrists before reclaiming her hands in her own. "I should take that to mean you accept then?" As though she really needed to ask. Still, it was wise to be sure, even when things seemed obvious.

She was glad to see her proposal was appreciated, and she gave Mei's hands a small squeeze before releasing them, reclaiming the girl's arm so she could begin to lead her back towards the tea setting their attendants. "Now, I think it's time we got back. Those mochi balls you mentioned sound delicious, and I'm keen to try one." At the table, with a pressed napkin across her lap, of course. Always manners.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 08, 2011 9:04 am

The young lunarian was in a daze! The feeling of being lead back towards their temporary guardians was one filled with a fuzzy happiness. She was going to be taught to be better. To be a noble lady in which all would respect her. Her new life, it would start now! The words of advice echoed in her empty brain as she smiled, looking more drunk than sober as she squeezed the hands back that claimed her own.

"Of course Shin-Mu! Composure, I can do that...i think. Is that what happens when you eat to fast?" Her eyes looked questioningly at her new friend as she wiped the tears of joy away from her cheeks. This would be harder than it seemed.

"My father will be most pleased, I can't wait to tell him! He does not seem to have shone to my other new friends. He finds them well, a little unrefined i guess, a bad influence on me almost! But you will be wonderful! I hope to be as nice a lady as you one day, do you think its even possible?" Her words gushed at possibilities too exciting to contain and all the way to their destination she would semi-dance in joy. Shin-mu would have a challenge claiming her hand when it all got to much but A'Meiya seemed to be in a world of her own.

"Ahhh yes the mochi balls!" She squeaked as she pulled the bag apart with hurried fingers, her tongue licking her pink lips in anticipation as she forced a hungry palm inside. "These are the best I assure you!! Once I ate seven in a row, I got lots of composure that day!" she giggled without reserve as she pulled out a slightly bruised ball of sweetened rice paste handing it over without a second thought for plates, napkins or even manners.

It was easy to say that Shin-Mu would see a lack of all three in the weeks to come.
