Makani would have been throwing a right tantrum at this moment, if he didn't think he was above such things. First he'd left his lovely home to protect his sister, then he'd lost his sister! Wouldn't that make any fox want to cry?
The trouble was that no one around really seemed to appreciate his problem. Makani had to remind himselves that these people were horribly primitive in their living style, having to tough it through harsh winters and hunting for food. None of them could relate to what he was trying to say.
He missed his easy lifestyle. Was that really so wrong?

Violet padded along the path quietly she had left the Yukon gang quite some time ago but she hadn’t joined up with any other tribe yet. She missed tribe life. She enjoyed the hustle and bustle of life in a tribe. Being alone was both lonely and tedious. She had to hunt and eat her meals alone. The chill of the evenings only severed to drive home her loneliness. Her tail wrapped around herself she kept traveling forward. Before her on a path there was a green male. She was pretty sure she remembered him, though she didn’t remember his name, she knew she knew him from somewhere. “Hello.”

Makani stopped and stared at the female. In his somewhat distraught state he was having a hard time remembering even the simplest of greeting rituals. There was also the most vague feeling of recognition, though Makani was sure he'd never seen this adult vixen before.
"Hmmm," Makani managed. Really, his heart wasn't into all the pomp and cheer that should have been attached with a proper greeting. Poor show on his manners and cultures, but there you had it. The female looked so down herself he doubted she would appreciate a full showing the way it was meant to be appreciated anyway.
((Green XD? He looks blue to me.))

“My apologies for the interruption of your thoughts sir. My name is Violet.” Dipping her head in greeting Vi wondered what was wrong with the male before her. He seemed tensed and upset. It definitely wasn’t a great day for either of them. Perhaps she could do something to at least make the male’s life a bit easier even if her own was hopeless at this point of time.
“Are you well sir? You seem rather.. distraught?” Distressed is the first word that comes to mind though it would be rude of me to call a male distressed as often as they associate such a word with vixens. I wonder why some words have such gender attachments.

If there was any way to totally and completely put Makani in his place, this vixen had just discovered it. Now not only was he feeling approval for this vixen's manners, he felt like he was being such an uncultured barbarian by not giving her a proper greeting to begin with. So while his heart was still not quite into all his usual pomp, he made an effort.
"I apologize, dear lady, if I seem a bit short of patience. You see I have lost my sister. We come from a very isolated bit of land, far away, and I worry about her being on her own."
He almost stumbled over his tongue trying to arrange his words in proper order with what seemed to be the priority, since his first impulse had been to give his name. Since he had answered Violet's question though, he could now introduce himself. "My name is Makani."

“A pleasure to meet you Mister Makani. There is no need to apologize good sir. I am sorry to hear about your sister. It must be difficult to be away from all one has known and then to be separated further.” I understand that sense of disappear that exists when one is alone as he is now. “I would help if you search, would allow for it.” Violet gazed at Makani with her yellow eyes full of sincerity. “Sadly I am unfamiliar with this area. Still allocating additional resources when they appear is often fruitful is it not?”
Lifting a paw Vi gently pushed her purple and white hair out of her eyes to get a better look as she gazed at the land around them. The air was much warmer than it was in the mountains so Vi felt at ease. Still there didn’t appear to be any signs of other foxes around as far as she could tell.

Makani resisted the urge to shrug. "My sister is a bit less polite than I am, so it is at your own peril should you decide to join me in looking for her," he said. That was putting it kinda polite. Miliani had a very strong, possessive streak when it came to her brother. Actually, it was something the twins shared. Makani would have to thoroghly interigate any male that so much as looked at Lani, and he was pretty sure she felt the same about him and females.
"I may know a bit about the land, at least," he added. Deities knew he'd been wandering in it quite enough for the last week! Again, he had to repress an urge. This time he'd wanted to groan and look about the forest like it was a sentient being attempting to thwart him. Makani preferred to look sane during first meetings, to make a good impression.

“I do not mind the steadfast behavior of others. I suppose that comes from my heritage on my one mother’s side.” Violet waved a paw as though the stubbornness of another had no impact on her choice to help. “After all it would be erroneous of me to leave you to search alone. Your sister could be frantic looking for you. Having more eyes and foxes out to find her and let her know where you are would be for the best.”
“It is nice to know that you have some idea what this land holds. I fear that since I have left my tribe that I have felt a bit lost.” In far more ways than one. I suppose that’s one reason why I am so glad and willing to help. Violet followed Makani’s gaze to the forest feeling it held promise of a place to be.

Makani wasn't sure if he had always been so tempted to shrug before he got to this land, but he was...pretty sure he hadn't. Maybe? Ah well, it mattered not.
He turned back to Violet, and nodded his thanks. "You will recognize her as soon as you see her," he said. "We are identical twins in all but gender."
Makani slowly turned and started to walk off, giving Violet plently of time to catch up to him. He was slightly intrigued by her speaking of a tribe, but didn't want to pry by asking.

Her eye’s lighting up with surprised Violet nodded to show she understood that Makani and his sister were twins. Well that is very interesting. I wonder if she is as quite as him. That would make for a rather awkward conversation I would think. Though I suppose I am not much. A strange fox coming up and offering to help when you have no idea who they are or what they are doing is rather ominousness.
Unable to think of anything to say Violet followed Makani looking and sniffing for any signs of his sister. It’s at times like this I wish I had my grandmother Anila’s wings. It would be so much easier to spot a fox like Mankani or his sister from the air.
"How is it you and your sister came to be separated mister Makani, if you don't my asking?"

Makani kept his gaze fixed firmly ahead. It wasn't Violet's fault, not intentionally, anyway, but her question had caused him to blush. He liked to seem on top of things and perfect, and having his cheeks color in embarassment certainly wasn't going to help his pride.
"It might be more accurate to say she lost me than I lost her. Lani was tired and wanted something to eat, so I offered to hunt. And then, when I'm far from our camp, this massive storm rolls in. I didn't really know how to navigate in forests, so I couldn't trace my path back." Didn't know? Try don't know. The last few days might have seen his knowledge expand ferociously, but he was still lacking in all but basics.
And would that cursed blush hurry up and vanish already!

Not seeing Makani’s blush Violet had no idea what kind of effect she had on the male. It seems to me that you might have lost her… I suppose pointing that out will only make you upset though so I should keep my thoughts on this matter to myself. Innocently she continued on. “Yes the weather can be an unpredictable foe at times. In the Yukon Gang I was raised to be cautious of avalanches. I have never experienced one myself; still the prospect of being buried alive under snow is quite terrifying. ” She sighed lightly. “I know more of the higher altitude lands. Still some of the basics I know might be of some help this far down from the mountains.”

Makani shuddered, a subconscious reaction for him anytime a certain white substance was brought up. "I detest just being in snow," he said, "nevermind being buried in it."
They had only walked forward a few paces when Makani came to a stop, and sighed. "I suppose I should be-... Well-... The truth of the matter is that I'm really not quite certain how to go about finding my sister in a place like that," he huffed, turning his head a little to look at Violet. He prayed the blush was gone, but since his cheeks still felt warm he was certain the Deities were ignoring him.
"I could maybe follow my own trail back even if the terrain is different than I am used to, but the rain washed everything away. And this is only assuming that Miliani has even remained in the same spot, which I doubt. Really, all of this will be a search driven by sheer luck," he finished, feeling more embarassed than ever to have to admitt all this. But better now than later, and look even more the fool. Besides, a true gentleman never led a lady on like that.
((XD If we decide we like them together, their second RP should involve snow!))

Unable to stop herself Violet laughed. “There are a great number of foxes whom would agree with you. Having grown up with snow so long I myself am impartial to it.”
When Makani stopped Violet had been worried that she had offended the male in some way. His confession did not in the least shock her. It would make sense that the case was what it was. He had mentioned a large storm after all. The fact he was unaccustomed to the terrain made her feel a bit bad for him… and was that a blush on his cheeks. Well regardless it was cute and he was so very honest. Violet couldn’t help but feel her heart go out to him and a drive to help him formed. Thinking Violet blinked slowly and looked about at the woods about her and then back to Manaki. “You are quite the gentlemen. For that I thank you, though I do not believe you are without hope as you make it sound. Do you remember any land marks that are unique to where you were? A fallen tree or a large singular tree with limbs hanging down to the ground can help us narrow down our search as would the kind of leaves or bark the tree had.”

Well at least he was already blushing before Violet began asking her questions. Makani shook his head slowly. "All trees look alike to me," he confessed. "I do not think I would be much help there." He frowned, and tried to pick his brain for some kind of info that could help. "I do remember a sorta big rock, next to the path I took. It was sorta slanted, and there was thunder already. I thought I could use it if I needed to shelter from rain."
