Welcome to the House of Trintika and Laima! Enjoy Your Stay!

RULES
i. Please, respect the house and the people in it. This isn't a fraternity, it's a home!

ii. There are three guest rooms. The hostile takeover of any other bedroom is NOT WELCOME.

iii. Lastly, this is where a family lives. Try to keep it PG-13, at least.

Description
The Lindell House is a roomy, airy place with plenty of space. It's not a mansion, but quite close. The foyer is (like the rest of the house) hardwood floors and colorful paintings. There is a coat closet to the left and a table piled with mail to the right, but little else. To the left of the foyer is the master bedroom, straight ahead is the living room, and to the right is the kitchen and stairs.

The living room consists of two well-worn chairs, a couch, a coffee table in the middle and a dusty television on the far wall. The television is covered in finger prints, and teh coffee table is littered with paper. The rug on the floor is matted, but clean, and it is apparent that the room is very lived in. On the left side of the television is what looks like a closet door, but actually contains a teeny-tiny bathroom. To the right of the television is a sliding-glass door that leads to the backyard, which is really only a deck with a grill and lots of grass.

The kitchen is modest and big enough for only four at a time. There are the usual appliances (refridgerator covered in magnets, oven and range, toaster, and coffee maker) and little else. The sink is usually full of dishes, both dirty and clean. The small cabinets are full of herbs and spices, as well as a mountain of junk food. Connecting to the kitchen is a small dining room with a table for four and a window looking out on the backyard.

Upstairs are the two "children's" rooms and three guest bedrooms. There is only one bathroom, however, so beware. Each bedroom has a bed, a closet, a nightstand and a beaureu.

And so concludes the tour of the Lindell House.

Aubri knocked at the door, glancing down at the basket held in the crook of her arm. Inside, a small, light blue creature slept peacefully, shifting ever so often.

The child had a propensity for taking naps, and had been, compared to Shandar, very well behaved.

Trin opened the door, breathing heavily. "Soory, I was trying to clean the place up... such a mess..." she took a few moments to catch her breath, then smiled graciously. "Please, do come in Aubri. I'm eager to get to know her." She gestured to her living room. "Sit down anywhere. Would you like something to eat or drink?"

"You and Hakim are both so... welcoming," Aubri commented, passing Trin and flopping down on the nearest chair or couch, placing the basket on her lap. "Sure, I'll have something to eat. I'll try to wake Sleeping Beauty here up."

She raised an eyebrow, then turned her attention to Laima, ruffling her fur with one hand.

Trin nodded, rushing into the kitchen, and returning a few moments later with a tray laden with various sweets. "Okay, so I cheated-- half of these pastries were bought at the supermarket. But, in my defense, I did make the peanutbutter cookies. They're the only thing I know how to bake."

She smiled, setting down the tray on the coffee table and sitting down on the couch. "Has she woken up yet?"

"Why don't you take a look for yourself?" Aubri quirked a slight, wry smile, and held out the basket to Trintika. Once she'd handed that off, she reached forward and snagged what looked to be an apple danish, or something of the sort.

Nibbling on it, she settled back into her seat. "She's very sleepy, even compared to the other Uluen. When she's awake, though, she seems to be very well behaved. Should be easy to take care of. And she likes... jello. Oddly. Made some the other day, she practically jumped into the bowl. Cherry, but she might like other flavors - I don't know."

Trin nearly melted at the sight of the small cat. She looked so delicate, but perfect. Her eyes blinked open slowly, glancing around curiously. "Hi, kiddo. Welcome home. I promise I'll make you Jell-O so much you'll be fat and happy."

Trin looked up, her grin plastered no her face. "Thank you so much. She's adorable; I can't wait to start taking care of her."

"Good to hear. Oh, and I advise against letting her get fat. They are meant to be powerful hunters, even if they haven't needed to live that way for some time. I'd say make sure she exercises somehow."

"Oh, of course! I wouldn't dream of not letting her exercise." She pointed to her right, in the general direction of the backyard. "There's more than enough room for her and her friends to play around." Trin's smile seemed pasted to her face, as if she couldn't take it off if she wanted to.

"Oh! I often go to Barton to go shopping and stuff. When she's older, would she be able to go with me?"

"I don't see why not. Makes perfectly good sense. I bet she could even help you shop. Carry your purchases."

She finished off the danish, licking her fingers. "Oh, one last thing - she's nearly what the Dumyr call an "Ellundel" - a preteen, sort of. Our guesses at their ages seem to have been a bit... off. Eheh."

"Laima the Ellundel..." she said, letting the words roll off her tounge with a smile. "Yes, she does seem to be a bit big for a kitten. Well, no worries, I'll just have to stop somewhere and get her a larger bed." She stroked her fingers through the silky fur, enjoying the feel of something so soft.

"I can't wait for her to meet Aaka, if she ever comes home..." she said more to herself than anyone, glancing out the window. She blinked rapidly, bringing herself back to reality. She picked up a tube of hand wipes off the table and offered one to Aubri. "Wet One?"

Aubri blinked, then took one, cleaning her fingers off. "Thanks. Oh, and one last thing..." She balled up the wipe in one hand and rummaged around in the basket with the others.

Pulling a small book out, she extended it towards Trin. "A journal, for your progress, if you want to keep records. The back also has a small address book section. I've taken the liberty of putting down the other caretakers' addresses and phone numbers, in case you want to arrange... playdates, or something. Or in case you need anything. Mine is in there as well. I only ask that you keep your doors open, in case one of the other caretakers needs your help."

Trin nodded. "Awesome! And, of course, my dors are always open. Like a perpetual door-opening machine." She took the journal and looked it over. There wasn't anything particularly unique about it, but it felt like it would be a very special book someday.

"Thank you, really. This is... incredible." She continued stroking Laima, as if the minute she stopped she might float away.

Aubri smiled a little and stood. "Well, then, I'll let you guys get to know one another. I'll call you if anything comes up. I'll talk to you soon."

And then she just... left. Rather rude, quite unexpected. Ah, well. She probably had things to do, people to see...

Trin blinked in surprise at the woman's exit, then shrugged it off. she must have better things to do, and Trin was dying to talk to the little one anyway (even if she couldn't understand much).

"Hi, Laima. I'm Trintika, and I'm going to be your new mommy." She figured she better record this at once, so she immediately took out her journal and started writing feverishly. After a few minutes, many smudge marks and one very cramped left hand, she lay down her pen and sighed, stroking Laima.

After cooing and petting the cat-like creature for a few minutes, she decided she better go buy that new bed for Laima. Seeing how Aaka wasn't home at the moment, she figured she would just have to take her with her. Quickly slipping on her shoes and a light jacket, she headed for the marketplace with a spring in her step.
