Clop, clop, clop

Each step that Isysium took was slow and rough sounding. His head was level with his back, though that didn't really bother him. It wasn't like he needed his sight. His sense of sent and hearing was stronger than it had been when he was still alive. The black crow on his back flapped its wings a few times before hopping towards the stallion's withers. Isysium didn't bother slowing down nor did he stop. He kept on with his pace, the steps getting heavier and heavier with each passing moment.

Clop, clop, clop

It took him a while for him to realize that he wasn't alone. It was then that he stopped in his tracks. He lifted his head up a few inches and sniffed the air. He could smell one, perhaps two, other equine heading towards him. He could feel the vibrations of the other equine's hoof-beats slowly heading towards him. Pinning his ears back against his skull, he let out a loud whinny to inform the other equine that he was there and didn't like others sneaking up on him.

Her quarry was ahead and she was determined to have him. The faint smell of blood wafted from him, driving her predator instincts. Her hooves moved in a slow, meticulous fashion, her body slinking closer to the ground than usual. The movement could only be compared to that of a feline stalking its prey.

Hunger gnawed at her belly, a strange type of hunger that refused to be satisfied by the withering vegetation around her. No, it was a craving for blood. A smirk flickered across her face, but she twitched it away with a flick of her ear. The other her, the one who told her what she did was wrong, was silent. Always there, annoyingly, but for the moment control was hers, not that weak creature's.

Today was all about the blood. Finally. It was becoming easier for the instincts to take over, to let the thirst overwhelm her. The good her found it harder to fight. Soon, control over this body would be all hers. Emerald eyes winced as she stepped on a twig, giving away her position. She cursed under her breath, hearing the stallion's whinny.

But it was only a minor setback.

The one thing that Poison Ivy hadn't noticed was the large, lumbering oaf that staggered far behind her. He was far enough away that unless you looked on purpose, you wouldn't really notice him. His thundering steps slapped loudly against the ground, cracking twigs left, right and center.

The stallion was a massive brute, with broad shoulders and muscles that rippled beneath his pelt (and indeed in full view, for some chunks of his hide were missing). His bones jarred painfully as he staggered about, but he ignored the pain. He was used to it.

Why he followed the mare he could not possibly explain, even if he could talk properly. He knew that she was familiar, so he stuck to her. Beyond that, he had no idea. He did not even know her name or why she was so familiar.

So, he blundered along, his overly-large tongue lolling out of his mouth, a goofy expression spread across his features. It was only when the mare, and indeed the white-one-who-was-familiar-too stopped that he came within hearing range.

"Hurr.... Wait. Taurus. No keep up."

User Image She had spent most of her time out of hell stashed away from almost everyone; an unwilling captive of the stallion Thorn. He had taken her as his prize, a precious treasure and nothing more. She wasn't even an individual to him, no thoughts or feelings of her own, just something for him to have. Because he could. The very thought of the monster stallion brought shivers to her hide, and though he was not brutish in his ways towards her, he was very cold. Unfeeling even, as if she didn't even matter. Ashe had always been a prize to someone, in life her owners had cherished their elegant Lipizzaner mare who with delicate precise steps won them many awards; but, even they - greedy, money grubbing humans - had at least shown some sort of affection, compassion towards her. Thorn was... different. There was no purpose in holding her captive, no reason to keep her so close to him, and yet he did without so much as an ounce of admiration. He was the true tormentor of her own personal hell, one that she could not escape.

Luckily enough her captor had finally allowed her the freedom to travel the herd territory alone. Well, mostly. That damnable black great dane was still tied to the end of her lead line, and with the blindfold that still covered her eyes it was a necessity. "Now where are we going, Mutt?" she questioned dryly, shaking her head in agitation to the situation. Of course, he had followed her down to the very depths of hell after their death in the heart of the stable fire, and now he was here with her as well. It seemed that no matter where she went, the dog was bound to stay right by her side, leading her further into the fires. As it was, he had steered them into the very heart of the stable fire that killed them, then down into hell, and now he followed the orders of his new master- the stallion Thorn. Could she never be rid of his company?

Of course, it were these such thoughts and similar ones that kept her from paying attention to their surroundings. Not that there was much she could do. The scent of rot and decay choked out just about everything on this mountain, so there were no flowers to smell, nor particularly strong scents carried on the wind to let her know where she was. That being said, hearing a stallion's whinny up ahead certainly caught her off guard, eliciting a bulking squeal from the surprised mare as her ears pinned against the sides of her skull and her hooves danced in every which way as she tugged on the lead. This in turn caused the dog to snarl and raise his hackles as if something too had caught him by surprise. "Who is out there?" Ashe demanded of the whinnying stallion, bone hooves still swaying as she picked them lightly and uncertainly off the ground; surely she would have run if it were an option. The dog on the hand remained on guard, smelling something different in the air than what currently had Ashe panicking. The scent of a predator? Its white teeth bared at this yet invisible threat.
