Many, many years ago, there was a man known only as Mr. Midnight. Now, Mr. Midnight and his wife, Mrs. Midnight, lived happily together with just the two of them; no children. They were abnormally rich, and I mean BEYOND filthy-stinking-rich, even more than living in beds and rooms made of money themselves. Ah, but all good things come to an end... eventually... Mr. and Mrs. Midnight often had parties and invited many others to come and keep the wealthy couple company for a while. One night, however, is all that it took to change... As the wealthy Midnight couple disappeared deep into their home, things got a bit... darker... The lights that brightened the walls and rooms flickered before plunging the entire mansion into darkness. A massive storm raged outside, rain beating against the windows so hard the glass threatened to shatter. That, it did. The glass shattered, rain pouring into the home, lightning flashing throughout the dark night, thunder so close behind it caused the mansion to vibrate. Suddenly, a shriek pierced through the storm. All the guests, scared out of their minds, froze in place. Seconds seemed to tick by as long as a minute or even an hour each. Finally, a soft gray-ish light shone at the top of the stairwell where the Midnight couple had vanished. Not one light, but two. As the soft glows descended the staircase, they became clearer. They were, in fact, Mr. and Mrs. Midnight themselves: ghosts. The guests once frozen in fear now screamed in horror, but no sound could be heard outside the mansion with the still-raging storm. The guests tried to leave and escape this horror, only to find that the mansion was locked. No amount of force, no matter how great, could break down the mansion. Some even tried to get through the broken windows, only for their bodies to be torn to bits by the shattered glass. The guests scattered throughout the mansion in their last desperate hopes to evade the horrors that await them. Sadly, it all came so fast... No one saw a thing as they were each hunted down one-by-one until every last living being in the mansion was dead and turned into spirits like Mr. and Mrs. Midnight...

The storm around the mansion finally came to an end once everyone was dead. The once beautiful mansion has been turned to ruins, yet still stands to this day, nearly a hundred years later. No one dared go into the mansion when they realized this great tragedy for those years, so every piece of evidence is still intact. The only one who lives here is an old, gray-haired butler (whose age remains unknown) named Walter. He is the caretaker of the mansion, though seems to do a terrible job judging from the state the building is in... Well, at least it’s still standing... It is rumored that Walter is a spirit himself, yet clearly looks and acts human, more or less, and that he supposedly was there on that very night of the unearthly occurrence of the storm. He lives here alone, but that is about to change... Posters began appearing all over the nearby city’s walls and telephone poles:

Dear All Who Can Read,
Now is the time. Those who are of the ages between 13 and 19, or “teens” if you so may, are welcome to join the adventure and mystery of Midnight Mansion. Those who wish to test their skills are welcome to come and live at Midnight Mansion as long as they like. Food, water, shelter, etc. as necessities will be provided though you may wish to bring your own clothing as the articles here at the mansion may not be “up-to-date” with the current standards of society. You may bring anything else you might find necessary during your stay. The challenge is to solve the mystery of this unfortunate fate of Midnight Mansion. There will also be a reward for those who solve the case... I’ll be looking forward to meeting fresh new faces...

Guess this is where you come in at. You pack your things and hit the road. When you arrive at the mansion, Walter greets you at the door and shows you to your room (one person to each room, though all rooms are the same). If you need anything, you may call for Walter at anytime (just be reminded that at times he may not be able to show up so don’t freak out if he doesn’t come). The only other thing mentioned is that as “detectives”, you are to tour the home yourself. Just try not to get lost...

Now, I’ll let you in on another little secret or two...
1.) turns out that once you enter Midnight Mansion, you can’t leave until either the case has been solved or if you die (let’s hope that second part doesn’t happen). If you absolutely need something that you may have left at home, then Walter will retrieve it...
2.) Truth is, another rumor is that if you step foot in the home, you’ll soon lose your mind as well as soul to that which has devastated the mansion once before. Do you believe that?...

Personality: Walter is generally kind and very polite. He is nothing much more than a caretaker of Midnight Mansion, at least, that’s what’s known about him. There just might be a hint of insanity somewhere, but otherwise, he is a mystery in himself.
Bio: Not much is known about Walter. He was always the head caretaker of the Midnight Mansion, friends with Mr. and Mrs. Midnight ever since they bought the mansion. This is why people suspect he is a Spirit himself, since he has lived so long yet looks only 50-some years. Even after the incident, he has taken care of the mansion but careful not to touch anything that might be used for the investigation. What took him nearly 100 years to let others into the mansion to solve the mystery is yet another mystery.

Personality: Cynthia isn’t afraid of much. She is very daring and adventurous, but she is also caring and protective of others. Determination can go a little far into just being stubborn at times.
Bio: Cynthia was born and raised in the city as an only child, though she visited her aunts and uncles who lived far away every so often. She liked the change in scenery. She was always asking to go somewhere new when she was younger. At age 13, she was allowed to go off on her own a lot more since she was “old enough”. When she found out about Midnight Mansion, she didn’t even hesitate to go for it. The sense of challenge and yet another scenery change excited her. She brought her own clothes, flashlight with extra batteries, her laptop and charger, her phone and charger, even some walkie-talkies she got when she was 11 and their charger. Along with notebooks, pencils, and any other supplies like that she thought was necessary, Cynthia was set and headed off for Midnight Mansion.

Personality: Melody may seem like a Good Spirit, loving to sing and have fun, but she only finds true pleasure in messing with others. If you want to get information out of her, you’ll have to pass her games first.
Bio: Melody Nickson was one of the daughters of the guests at the Midnight’s party. She came along since her parents didn’t want to leave her at home, and to show off her love for singing since she was given private lessons. Her voice was almost irresistible as a human, and is the same way as a Spirit. On the night of the incident, she was killed like all the rest, but she doesn’t say how. Now that she’s a spirit, she uses her singing to lure others and prank them, though so far only a few have learned her tricks.

Bio: Chelsea was walking with a group of her friends home, when a group of older boys came by. Of course they teased the poor girls, then daring them to go into the mansion. She was the only one that actually went inside. After lying to her parents saying she was going to her friends house, she went to the mansion with only her stuffed rabbit at her side. She explored the bottom floor first before heading towards the bedroom. As she headed upstairs, she saw the ghostly couple floating past. She tried to escaped, but tripping over her shoe lace she fell to her death. People say that if you close enough to the house, you can hear her footsteps and her playful laugh.

His parents did everything they could to keep him home, but he managed to sneak out of the house, leaving a note behind explaining the situation. He took clothes, three bags of apples, a flashlight, four packs of 24 batteries, his DS and charger, as well as his phone and its charger and a pair of 90’s sunglasses.
