Shehk took care to gather up as neat of a presentation as she could possibly make for a school booth. She'd gotten her ghouls together to bake some spookies and dress them up in neat presentation, setting up several prepared batches of them in color coordinated groups on the surface of said booth.

She herself made sure to be in uniform, having asked anybody from the FEARleaders who wanted to show up and help out to be in uniform as well if they could help it, to one side of the booth's table was a rather large cage with two rather terrifying looking creatures in it. They looked arachnoid, with eight eyes and horrendous black and hairy bodies pincered mouths, and twitchy movements. The only thing that kept them from being 'just' giant spiders was the most terrifying thing of all - they had one hundred legs a piece.

When Shehk reached into the cage and pulled one out, it skittered up her arm and around her neck, and then attempted to go down the top of her uniform, chittering and clicking the entire time before Shehk grabbed it in one hand, fearlessly, and sat down, stroking it with one hand.

In neat (if not somewhat looped) handwriting was a banner that read 'AMITYVILLE FEARLEADERS', displayed rather proudly by the Pricolici who observed the scene with a sort of proud awe. Spookies, check; banner, check; clipboard, check; spiderpom, get!

In front of the booth was set up a sign, right underneath the Spookies. Shehk grinned widely where she sat. Now she just needed someone else to show up and help her out, ha ha.

OOC NOTES ABOUT THE BOOTH:

  • To claim a bag of spookies, you don't need to -literally- give us anything, but feel free to save the graphic that your student claims and put it in their journal or whatever else! However, please bold when you take one or give your ticket away to somebody else so I know who is in the raffle for the prizes!
  • If you win an IC prize (like a date), I will still be giving you a minipet. C:
  • Come and RP! While there are prizes, I want more IC interaction than anything else, which is why the prize-winning is so simple! C:

TO ANY OF THE FEARLEADERS/FEARLEADER CANDIDATES WHO ARE ENROLLED

  • Let Pach know if you want to raffle off a date! I was going to take this list at the group activity, but I didn't have time to make the activity happen before the open house. Whoops!

Finally some bonding time with her fellow fearleaders, this was the sort of activity Sin was excited about. Oh sure the open house was bustling with other activities but for the moment her sole focus was trained on the Fearleaders booth. She had donned her uniform and tied her hair back and there she was ready to support her team. She eyed the bags of spookies and was pleased to note that none of the baked offerings looked too badly burnt or mangled. Yes this was quite nice and a good chance to show of their spirit and maybe recruit some new ghouls or boils.

She hadn't exactly mentioned to Rosc yet about her volunteering herself as a date, after all it was just one harmless little date for fun. There was no need to involve the incubus when it would only upset him and probably trip his jealous streak.

"Hey Shehk...this all looks great." Since first joining the Fearleaders Sin had fortunately shed many of her previous prejudices and now she didn't see Shehk as just an undead, she saw her first and foremost as the excellent captain she was. She never expected them to do anything that she wasn't willing to try and teach them first.

This was the way Vieve saw it: you'd get the most money-making opportunities from the library, especially if you tried to sell those nerds there library books. But today wasn't as much about money-making as it was socialising.. what did they call it, exactly?

Oh, right. Networking. And she'd heard FEARleaders were the coolest kids around, which was why she'd made a beeline straight for their booth. It didn't disappoint her: they'd put thought into presentation, amongst other things. She liked that. A lot.

Approaching them, she picked up a bag of spookies, then almost dropped it when she noticed the price. Wasn't Open House supposed to be free? Were there hidden costs attending the school, too? She'd heard there were no school fees, but you could never be sure.. maybe she'd throw in a quick question if she got a chance to chat with any of the students. In any case, the salamander wasn't sure the spookies were worth it (as good as they looked)- especially not if she could try getting it for free..

"Say," she turned to the closest girl in a FEARleader uniform, and gave the most charming smile she could. "Do I get a discount for being the first one here?"
PostPosted: Wed Jun 01, 2011 10:53 am

Shehk grinned back at Sin. It was likely that ghoul's fault that Shehk herself had gotten over a few drawbacks she had about demons at the beginning of the year (most of which she found to be unfounded and very narrow minded on her part), but none the less school was more enjoyable when one wasn't caught up on stupid things like race.

Well, except when you were an undead in a den of strange demons... Shehk's brain flashed momentarily to her date with Altair and a ping of horror went through her mind, shaken off quickly enough as she got up and held her arm out to Sin, offering the spiderpom to her. It clicked, but seemed docile enough, not even minding that it was being flung about. Then again, spiderpoms were flung around a lot.

"Thank you, Sin m'dear." she grinned, placing her other hand on her hip. "It took a bit of effort, but I'm thinking it will be worth it. Ever so worth it. Took a bit of research on the part of the spookies too. But I'll try to not eat them all."

To Shehk, the opportunity to eat something that a group could eat too and not make herself sick was A++.

However, it seemed someone was trying to play the charmer and get a lil' something extra from the pair, Shehk's brows lifting a bit before she reached into the cage and let the other spiderpom out, taming it into her arms as she had the first worried one and stroking over it in the same adoring way she did her other pets.

Shehk knew how to put on a charming face, grinning so her sharper vampiric fangs showed off and leaning over the top of the table, her tail wagging ever so slightly.

"How about this; hang around, hold a spiderpom for a while, and maybe char for a bit. I'll give you a bag for free. It helps attract people if there are people here, after all."

Several possibilities ran through the salamander's mind as the girl she'd approached handed her a spiderpom, and one of them was 'take it and run away and try to sell it'....

That thought got abandoned pretty soon.

"It's a deal, then.. but I won't just be standing around. Time is money and all, right? Tell me more about the Academy, about the FEARleaders, y'know, insider information. Things a prospective students should know?"

She shuddered a little as she reached out to take the spiderpom, but then she remembered free spookies, and clamped her hand tightly around the spider, going as far as to wave it around lamely.

It stared at her mournfully.. which was kind of cute, somehow, and Vieve made a mental note that they might sell well as pets. She was getting kind of attached, herself.

... At least, until it bit her.

"Hundred Legged Spiders, or Spiderpoms as I call them, are quite docile. They're used for a variety of tasks. We simply get the ones that aren't suited for more..extreme tasks so they have to interact well with the other creatures of halloween. Well. Sans anything they deem food." Shehk reached out to stroke over it's furry body, before leaning back again, shrugging.

"There is nothing big about the school in general to know about. Unless you want gossip. Lots and lots of gossip. For example; I have a sneaking suspicion the school nurse and the secretary have some sort of thing going on. He's the only person she is any level of 'nice' too and she just rolls over for the Headmistress because she doesn't want to have her a** kicked.

Or something like that. I wouldn't take bets on that fight, that's for sure." Shehk shrugged her shoulders a bit.

"Not much to say about the FEARleaders, I like to drag girls based in on ability rather than status or anything else. I figure if I have to teach these girls to FEARlead, I might as well get the best I can to start with." Shehk chuckled a bit. "Though that hasn't been hard for me to do yet."

She winked at Sin.

"Though I'm sure if you ask some other people who show up, they'll have more interesting things to talk about. I'd highly recommend talking to anybody who shows up."

"Docile," she said, through gritted teeth. "Reaaaally docile." To be fair, though, the bite hadn't hurt that much, and taking a leaf out of Shehk's book, Vieve stroked the spiderpom she was holding to calm it down. She could've sworn it purred.

"The nurse and the secretary? Seriously?" In most stories it was the butler, but she supposed they didn't have those in a school. "I'm not here for gossip, though- it's not like I know anyone yet. More of what school life's like, what dorms are like.. I don't think they're open for viewing today. Hmm."

In any case, Shehk seemed somewhat unwilling to share more, and Vieve sensed that being overly nosy wouldn't be profitable. Perhaps the other girl would be more inclined to tell her things.

"Perhaps.. you could show us what you do at FEARleading practice?" Hopefully there would be an 'us' soon.. waving the spiderpom, Vieve looked around. Someone else had to be interested in this!
PostPosted: Wed Jun 01, 2011 12:29 pm

Shehk shrugged. "The dorms vary greatly. For example; I'm a Pricolici, so I live in the undead dorms. My rooming is better than the zombies, mummies, and skeletons because I'm not rotting nor am I inclined to do so, but I don't have the same amount of status that a full-vampire would have as I'm only partially vampiric." Shehk ran her fangs over her teeth to emphasize, her ears twitching a bit.

"The other dorms are a little bit different than that one. Vary from case by case. So figure out who is in your dorms and you'll get a more honest answer. The demon dorms, from my experience, seem to have the best rooming. Monster dorms aren't bad either."

Shehk had a...very good working knowledge of the monster dorms, but she didn't share that. Instead she shrugged and got up from the booth, stretching as she walked.

"Give me a minute to stretch out and I can do a few fancy tricks for you if you'd like to see." she said, tail wagging just a bit. "If I try without it, I'll hurt something. Most likely myself, at that."

Roch smelled spookies. Even though he had just finished off half a table of food at the cafeteria, he always had room for spookies. He stopped, though, seeing all the superbly hot females at the booth where the spookies were. He wasn't having much luck with ladies today, he thought, just standing there with his hands in his pockets as he looked at the spookies.

But those were spookies. And they even had a purple bag of them. And he liked spookies...

"Awww, man!" he complained to himself, heading for the booth and digging deeper into his pockets, trying to find a silver seed. "I know I had one somewhere..."

Shehk grinned at the reaper fishing through his pockets, patting him on one shoulder once she felt sufficiently warmed up for all purposes. She stretched out, then placed her hands on her hips.

"If you hold still for a bit and let me use you in a trick, I'll give you one on the house." she offered. Certainly giving things away for free wasn't very productive, but Shehk seemed inclined to show off something impressive, by the way she walked off to give herself a bit of distance.

"All you gotta do is hold still and don't flinch." she added, tilting her head to one side.

He looked at her, then nodded, feeling a bit stupid for having his hand a good foot down the pocket of his pants. "Can I at least pull my hand out of my pocket?" he asked her, not budging from how he stood. "Or does it have to be there for some reason?"

If she was going to attack him, he hoped it didn't hurt as much as when one of the guys back home had pulled that line on him.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 01, 2011 4:43 pm

"Stand up in straight. It'll be more effective that way. Otherwise you might get hurt." Shehk grinned. "Pretty much, I need your shoulders." She patted her own, as though Roch didn't know what she meant. Though she was sure he did, but none the less, she made the gesture anyways.

"Pretty much I'm going to use you as a launching point for something. It shouldn't hurt at all. I'll kiss it better if it does though." Shehk laughed lightly, her tail wagging in good humor.

She must have been pretty confident in what she was doing.

He straightened, squaring his shoulders for her. "Uh, like this?" he asked, his eyes going over to the bags of spookies. They smelled good. "Those are home made, aren't they?" he asked, almost as if he hadn't even heard the "kiss it better" comment. There was food involved here, he was willing to let her do what she wanted!

He should have introduced himself or something, but his mind was on food. "And that's a pretty big sucker, too."
