Yes, it's behind the times. We're late on it. We're lazy.
http://www.duelingnetwork.com/Dueling Network is a fairly new website in which you can construct your deck and duel others. It has its ups and downs, yet it is enjoyable as an alternative to be able to duel others, and for deck construction.
Unlike YVD, Dueling Network is completely browser-based. You type in the URL, sign in under your User Name and Password, and you're ready to get started. It offers Deck Construction using cards known from OCG and future TCG release(sans confirmed yet unreleased TCG exclusives), which is a much larger movepool compared to YVD. Like YVD, Dueling Network is also free to use.
There are slops to Dueling Network, though.
• Public and Private Chats are available on the browser, but in order to conduct a Private Chat, you have to scroll through a list of every register user online, and it never sits still with frequent signing in, out, and disconnections. I recommend any of you schedule your duel through an alternative method such as instant messenger, or private messaging.
• Deck Construction allows you to put together your Deck, Extra Deck, and Side Deck. However, THERE IS NO OPTION FOR A FULL 2/3 MATCH. My LARGEST peeve on this site, by FAR. All single duels are conducted in the usual manner, yet the only thing left to do after the loser conceding the game is to quit the hosted room itself, and open a new lobby.
• For cards such as Pot of Duality, Reasoning, etc., there is no option to reveal cards on the top of your deck, nor for your opponent to be able to choose a certain selection of cards such as Power Tool Dragon's. These plays are small in number, but should be addressed, and hopefully something the site should improve on.
Aside from the errors, Dueling Network is a great site to use in order to learn and understand the game. Mechanics can be visually explained, as can timing, specific effects and rulings, et cetera. I highly recommend you all give it a try.
And, if any of you would like to ask me for a game, you can find me there as That's Jazzy.
On a side note, does anyone know the name of the song they have at sign in?
