Trudging through the monster dorm halls, Mei was ready to call it a day. With classes and after school activities, it was almost as though she had no time to breath in between..rest was the best option right now. Even if Jack himself showed, she would turn the cheek and keep moving for her bed which called to her longingly.

Turning a corner, her crimson eyes landed on an unknown ghoul roaming the building. What an odd looking toy..she looked like something out of a fairytale rather than out of a horror--then again, there was a lot who fit that description as well. Well, whatever, new ghoul was nothing new..the school was filled with them. Keeping to her path, she watched the ghoul from the corner of her eye. Was she lost? How funny! Of course, everything was amusing when you were sleep deprived. Walking past the ghoul, Mei made no move to help her--she couldn't! SLEEP! IT WAS SO CLOSE!

Once past, the doll glanced over her shoulder eying the ghoul before looking straight ahead again. No! She will be fine! She's a big ghoul, she can handle herself! Besides, she needs to get used to locating her own room anyways, right? Right! She had made it to the end of the hall before she stopped completely..her conscience finally weighing on her. "JACK DAMMIT!" Spitting the words out, she stormed back to the ghoul---highly irritated. "Yo! You lost?"

Oh boy. This ghoul.. "Seriously? I mean, uh.." Rethinking her attitude, Mei scratched at the back of her head, mulling over the right choice of words. Probably best not to make too many enemies at this school. "Er, well..Do you remember what room number it is?" She asked, hoping that she had an idea. Then again, she wouldn't be lost if she had just followed the numbers.

Honestly? She would really give away one of her emblems just like that? To someone she hardly even knew? Not that Mei was complaining. She planned on collecting quite a few emblems in time. Taking the small trinket from the ghoul, she examined it for a moment before handing it back.

A door with her emblem marking..Wonderful, that was like a needle in haystack. They would be searching the dorms all night. "Huu.. I guess I could help you out. Just let me drop by my room so I can unload all my books and stuff. Its not far, just around the corner actually." Pointing down the hall, she motioned in the direction, gesturing for the ghoul to follow. Last thing she needed was to have to search for her in case she decided to wander. "I'm Mei by the way. You are..?"

She forgot to..Oh Jack, its no wonder she was lost! She said her door had her emblem design--at least that was something to go on. It would be better if they had the dorm room number instead though. She had no idea which direction to start in. "Alright, we'll find it. Do you at least remember what direction you had come from?" She asked, hoping for a positive answer. Though, she wouldn't hold her breath with this ghoul's memory.

"Nice to meet you Amphi." She seemed nice enough, a little dimwitted, but that could be said for any new students. "Hm? Yeah. Almost a year now." Exams were practically in her face, something she needed to crack down and study for. "How is that?"

Arriving at her dorm, she slid the key into the slot, twisting it open under her grasp. "Okay, just have to dump this inside and then we can start searching." Stepping inside, she located a cleared area to set her bag down, and not lose it by morning. The amount of plushies she had stashed up in her room was insanely crazy. Which, was something Mei probably was.

Mei would offer her something like a snack or drink, but lacking an appetite for, well..anything, she didn't exactly have any food about. Not unless the ghoul liked gum, which she was fresh out of. "Okay. You ready to go?"

Oh thank Jack! She did remember the direction at least! That would cut the search by half. Mei, without realizing, gave a sigh in relief. She wanted this day to end, but the day would continue as long as she was aiding in this search. This hopeless search..

"Yeah, exams are coming up fast. Though, I'll be glad for this year to end. Too much crap has happened." The exams..probably were tough. She hadn't met any who was already a second year, so she couldn't question them on what to expect. "I dunno. Knowing this school--most likely." Was she even prepared for it? What all had she learned so far anyways? Not to take long boat rides to psycho islands with crazy hooded people trying to kill you? Yes. That was a lesson well learned. "Hm? Oh, its fine. Don't worry about it."

"HAH!" She laughed out loud, unable to keep herself from doing so. "You obviously haven't met anyone else around here yet. I'm not exactly the nicest ghoul you'll come across. Trust me." Land walker? Must be a term for others on land between mer-folk. Whatever the case, it was the first time she had ever heard it.

Mei was a little preoccupied with what she was doing to realize Amphi's reaction to her room, that when she turned around, all she saw was the ghoul apologizing and clinging to one of the larger plushies. "About what?" Why was she apologizing? Did she do something wrong? Weren't those plushies always there? ....she needed to get this room cleaned.. "Er..whatever happened, its okay. Now, lets go." She stared a moment before speaking again. "If your content on holding that plush, you can take it with you."

"Could it be," She grinned. "its because no one else has been through the halls and come across your..situation?" it was, after all, fairly late in the day. Most students were probably off in their dorms, studying for the upcoming exams. Others were probably of at the maul, hanging with friends. It wasn't like the dorm halls were always crowded with students..not like the school itself. Shrugging it off, she studied the ghoul a moment. She was still clinging to the plush, as if she would die or something if she let it go.

"Uh..Well." There was the 'Junko' incident a year ago that she could have brought up to prove the ghoul wrong. But, that was not quite a topic she wanted to talk about. Especially with someone she had just met. So, she didn't. "Just trust me when I say I'm not. But don't worry. There are some craaazy sicky sweet ghouls in this school that will make you feel so welcome. Trust me." She was still grinning, thinking of some of the ghouls she had already met.

Raising a brow to her question, Mei stared at the ghoul as if she had asked her one of the most insane questions she had ever heard. "You mean you can't tell? Seriously?" How could she not be more obvious than she was? The cracks alone gave it away! "I'm a living doll--or HP doll as my father calls me. One of the 'bigger models'. Some of my siblings have limited actions." Breathing out, an unneeded breath she continued. "The scroll is what keeps me animated. If I lose it, I cease to exist. Or at least until I get it back, or get a new one." Snorting, she motioned for the door. "Probably not. Living dolls aren't unheard of. But my father likes to make things more unique. Aside from my siblings and I, I've never heard of their being any other HP dolls like myself."

Locking up the door behind her as they stepped back into the hall, she turned to the ghoul with a question of her own. "Just how long have you been out of water? 'Land walking' as you so called it."
