I was reading an article about it and it got me curious.
It says that a lot of kids are experiencing it without even knowing or something.
Or that you wake up with a jolt it could be that you've been out of your body while you were sleeping/dreaming.
So far I know I have never had it, Maybe I have without realizing. I don't know.
I just got curious how a leaving your body-experience feels like. Maybe it's a bit of a 'dumb' question but this article made me really curious.

This isn't exactly what you are looking for, but I had something similar or close to. Once I did fall asleep, almost immediately after I was in stage 1 of sleep, which is normally quick jolts of dreams and things from the day. As I was entering a dream, knowingly, I stopped to think and it felt like my overall consciousness stopped and pulled me away from my body, or "forced thought". Sorry if this was a waste of time for you to read, but I thought it was something close too. sweatdrop

Ok...well when I was younger (and even a few times now) I would almost on a regular bases (spanning about once... maybe twice a month) I would keep haveing this dream about falling... or haveing this falling sensation..... and when I would almost hit the ground I would wake up.... but I swore that every time I woke up... not moments before.... I had fallen....maybe a few feet from where I was sleepng to the ground...... now I can't really explain... and I could be wrong.... but now.. I have kind of blamed those feelings on this..... idk...

I have heard about and read journal and articles about this topic. These types of articles usually claim that anyone, no matter what age you are, astral projects while they are asleep. Some say that your experiences during astral projection influence your dreams. Usually there isn't some sort of feeling attributed to it because you are asleep. There are eye witness accounts of people walking in to a bedroom and seeing something floating above the person that is sleeping. Occassionally something causes the person to snap out of it which can make you feel like you are feeling. However, the feeling of falling when sleeping is more commonly associated to psychology, sleep and the REM and non REM cycles. Because of how your body reacts with your energy levels dropping during sleep. I have done journey work while awake and I can't really describe the feeling of it. I just find it to be an informative experience.
