 Patchems was at the edge of a lake getting a drink seeing the day was hot. Not having a care in the world at the moment as she has her eyes closed enjoying the cool water going down her throat and cooling her off from the inside to the outside. The thought of maybe going swimming crossing her mind but right now she wants to drink the cool water.

 Anahita could feel the heat penetrating through under the surface of the lake. She wasn't fond of hot days, nor the sun. Seeing as she wasn't sure of the "land world," she really only came to the surface at night. That was about the same time she noticed an abnormally colored object leaning over the water's edge.
Being the curious sort she swam up to the top, but kept her distance. She breached the surface taking in a deep breath and observed the creature. Brown patches over a white coat with brown striped white tresses fell from its mane and tail. Strange..., she thought, I've only seen two-legged creatures before...

Patchems has noticed the Mer~mare as she continues to drink. Her eyes still closed as she steps a bit more into the water cooling off from the heat. Thank goodness her coat color has a dark one. She thought a bit as her ears flicked at the sound of the water moving but to be honest she thought it was just a fish. Seeing she has never seen a Mer~Soquili before. Keeping her eyes closed as she dips her nose fully into the water and moves fast bring her head up and rears allowing the droplets of water to hit her neck and back.

Anahita stared in bewilderment at the creature, she definitely wasn't sure how to approach it. Slowly she came a little closer so she was within at least five feet of them.
She ducked her head under the water as the sun had dried her skin, she didn't like that feeling, she always had enjoyed the sensation that water only could give, and went back to observing the Soq-mare.

She opened her eyes a bit as she sees the water moving a bit. It must just be a fish. Patchems thought. She then leans her nose to the surface of the cool water again and begins to drink once more. Her eyes closed. What if it wasn't a fish?? But what else could it be?? She thought more on it as she shakes it off as just a fish in the end and continues to drink.

Anahita thought about it and wondered how she should go about approaching the situation. She realized that this one may not have noticed she was there. She continued to think about it and realized that the creature was only really trying to cool off.
A playful idea crossed her mind, she raised her tail to the surface and thrust it towards them, a wave of water headed toward the shore.
That should get their attention, she thought with approval.

Splashed with water Patchems takes a few steps back opening her eyes and shakes a bit as she looks about. Wondering what caused it. She then walks into the water again but this time she keeps walking until the water in up to her chest area. She looks about again scanning the area and noses the water wondering what could have been so strong to splash a wave like that.

Well, that definitely got their attention, Anahita thought. She breached the water again snorting out what air she'd inhaled earlier, she looked at the Soq. "Who're you...?" she asked staring at them.
Her hair falling over her red eyes as they clung to her head after rising out of the water. She kept a steady eye on her new occupant. She thought that the Soq was smart enough to stop where it did, had they continued they would've found the drop-off.

Patchems looking at the Mer. "I am Patchems and who are you?" She wonders a bit as she shifts her hooves under her but she isn't too close to the drop off. She knows it is there. She found it once when she was younger. It isn't going to get her a second time.
"You must be a Mer. I am a normal Soquili" She states as if pointing out what can be seen with the naked eye.

"I am known as Anahita," she replied simply. "And I am a Mer..." Ana gave a weak smile. "I suppose you're the first Soquili I've met, certainly none of your kind back home."
Ana glanced around Patchems to her hind quarters, "First time seeing someone with four legs," she gave her a quizzical look, "Is it difficult?" She nudged Patchems' left hind leg with her tail. Ana tossed her mane, raised herself up, and then balanced herself on her tail to look at Patchems in the eye.
"Do you live nearby?" Anahita asked cocking her head.

"Is what difficult? My back legs? No Silly we land Soq need all four legs to move about. We can swim as well but not for long periods of time. We use all four legs to leap, jump, trot, gallop, and run. Walking as well." She watches Anahita as she sways and flicks her tail a bit. Her tail in the water when she isn't flicking and swaying it about as she looks about the area like she is scanning it.
"I live in the forest that is close to here." She smiles a bit as she looks back at the Mer. "And Yes I would think none of us land soq would be in your home. We would die if we were under water that long." She points out.

Ana processed it, "Seems the land world is more surprising than I realized, it seems really exciting compared to swimming all day." She gave an unsatisfied look at Patchems. "You called your home a forest...? So that's what those tall green things are around here... none of those back home either, er... well, at least not this kind."
She nudged her nose with her front leg, "So... the way you were talking, there's more Soq? I haven't really seen any other than you and Mer~Soq, and those young'ins. You know those little Seathi?
"But, then again, I never really ventured out of the ocean... until I ended up here..." Ana's voice was drenched in forlornness, "But there's a two-legs that keeps an eye on me," she motioned to the small teepee at the lake's edge.
Anahita rocked back and forth on her tail, when the sun reminded her why of she hated the day. She dipped her head in the water, cooling off her head with her mane clinging to her neck slowly releasing trickles of relief down her body and back into the lake. "It certainly is a hot day..."

"There are Soq with wings and some with horns. There are many different kinds I guess." She smiles. She had made an ocean friend it would seem. She nods as she listens to what the Mer Mare is saying as she switches her tail in the water and then flicks it up to get water on her back. "Yes the day is a hot one. And those tall green things are called trees. They are my home." She points out a bit as she stretches a little. "I can swim but I couldn't be able to do it all day. I would be to tired."

Ana was dumbfounded, "So many..." She couldn't believe the world was filled with so many different Soq. That had definitely gave her much to ponder about.
Ana tousled her mane, "So... what's it like out in that world? I have always wondered...
"I'm so bored with the water, just kinda wanna see something new ya know? Guess my curiosity got the best of me by bringing me here. But by Spirit Almighty, you're here now!" she whinnied gleefully. She gave Patchems a huge grin, "Do you have a two-legs?" Ana asked by chance.

"A two-legged?? You mean a person." Patchems knows them as people or person. She shakes a bit as she then pushes off into the deeper water and swims around Ana. "Well it is dry and hot when it isn't raining. Today isn't a bad day. Most run and play games like tag. I do that with my mate when he isn't busy." she swims more.
