Etira had finished inviting Mew and Sahra over to have ice cream at the ice cream place nearby. An E-mail had been sent and hopefully they'll be able to find the place. Et got dressed out of her night gown as she had been lazy until this point in the day. After she got everything ready, it occured to her that Vivina was being awefully quiet today. She went over to Vivina's room only to find her not there. Then she went to the kitchen. There was a box of chocolate covered insects laying on the middle of the floor. She followed a trail of crumbs to the living room where Vivina was found munching on the insects while watching TV. She sighed and went over to Vivina. "Vivina...do you want to go out and get some ice cream? I invited two people over. You've never met Sahra and Mew before, so this will another opporitunity to make more friends!" She smiled at Vivina and fixed her hair a bit.
Vivina paused chewing on the surprisingly delicious cricket and smiled really big. "Aeesuh cuhreema? The cold cweamy thing in the fweezah? I luv that stuff!" She jumped off the couch and ran to turn the TV off. She then ran into the kitchen to put away the half eaten bag. After that, Vivina went to get her pink and purple dress that Et bought for her on and the black silky scarf that came with it just in case it was cold. She ran back to Et and jumped up and down. "I'm ready mommy!" Of course, while she was getting everything else ready, Vivina didn't have the time to wipe the chocolate off her mouth.
Et giggled as Vivina returned with her mouth covered with chocolate. "Vivi, you forgot to wipe your mouth! It's still chocolate covered!" She grabbed a damp cloth and washed Vivina's face. She looked to see if she missed a spot and then kissed her cheek. "There we go. Now we can go to the store and get your favorite, Honey-Carmel Crunch." She chuckled as she remembered the first time she gave Vivina ice cream. She then wondered what flavor she'd be getting. She pondered on a few possibilities then gave up as she decided that she'd be choosing when she got there. She led Vivina out of the house and walked in the cool afternoon towards the ice cream store.

Walking warily down the stair way, entering at a rather slow pace, a woman dressed in a simple black gown had seemed to have just awoken. Mew yawned, looking about the living room, she hadn't expected to see Sahra anywhere around the house, and even though she wished it wasn't true, it was. The little girl seemed to have disappeared, but that was only normal. "It's going to be tons of fun finding her." Sighing, Mew flopped down into a near by arm chair, pondering what she was to do.
"HEEER!!" A muffled voice popped out of nowhere, a sort of squeaky voice, high and child like. Mew couldn't quite figure out where it was coming from, mind being clouded and dazed and all due to her being half asleep. Her tail twitched while she peered about, looking for signs of life in the large room, and not to her surprise, not a soul was in sight. "I guess I'm just hearing things." She muttered to herself, leaning her head on the back of a fisted hand. "GWET OFF MEH!!" There is was again, that voice! But was it? Was she truly going insane now? "MOMMEH MOVE!"
"Huh?" Mew jumped to her feet, turning around quickly and backing off, she looked down at the soft blue recliner to see a small spotted form slouched, rubbing it's head angrily. "Whoops." Mew just couldn't help but laugh.
"It is nawt funneh Mommeh..." Tail trashing hard against the chairs side, Sahra's ears went flat against her head as she shot a glare at the fox standing before her.
"I'm sorry, Sah." Mew scooped Sahra into her arms and hugged her tightly, spinning around oddly she grinned. "Oh, and I almost forgot! I was looking for you because I made plans for us. Er, well, more like just you, you get to go and meet a new friend! And have ice cream." Mew knew Sahra might shy away at first, but would be perfectly fine in the end. That, after all, was always how it turned out.
"Oh, okee..." Sahra wasn't about to argue, especially if it meant getting ice cream-- oh the sugary goodness! The chocolate, the strawberry, and the orange...it was just all so good!
"Alright then," Mew replied, "Let's get going. We don't want to be late, and we don't want to miss the flight." And with those things said Mew headed out the door, thoughts of the ice cream parlor fresh in her mind. She didn't really care to change, and Sahra seemed to have dressed herself, so they were all good.

The cool, crisp breeze danced around Et's hair. She took a deep breath to relax her busy mind. She looked around at the path while bein lost in her mind. Spring was nearing and so her mind was filled with spring cleaning plans, birthdays (including her own), holidays, events, and doctors visits for spring fever and allergies. She glanced around at the tree buds and flowers beginning to bloom. People walking, riding bicycles, and driving cars passed her and Vivina, who's hand she was holding. The two turned a corner and looked upon a field. The grass was still brown, but fresh green grass was starting to grow among the base of the old. "Hey Vivina, wanna take a short cut? The ice cream place is right across the field. I checked a map." She questioned the child tentatively. She looked at Vivina who seemed to be observing the birds in the sky.
Vivina observed the street she was walking on with special attention, making incomprehensable noises of awe now and then. The small strip of pavement stretched on for miles along meadows and woods. Not too long ago, they were walking on a dirt path in dry region. This world was strange with the constant shifting of nature. The wind blew gently and flew through her hair as well. She wondered what that magical cool sensation was and decided to question Et later. She looked up suddenly at the sight of black figures in the sky. As she looked carefully, she found out they were birds, and they were flying. Vivina gaped and waved her arm about. She dreams of flying like them one day, not just gliding. She knows it's impossible for a sugar glider to actually fly long distances. Why else would her species be called sugar glider? Still the thought of flying amazed her. She looked up at Et and smiled happily. "Short cut? Eef we get to thuh ice cweam place fastur, YES!" She jumped up and down wanting to get her hands on her favorite flavors as soon as possible. She watched Et chuckle and smiled as they walked across the field.
Et and Vivina casually made their way over the field. The endless sea of grass seemed to go nowhere. Et glanced back and saw the tops of the tallest trees disappear. To the right, she noticed a few trees, and by the base of them were a family of deer. She heard Vivina gasp as the family minded their own business of eating. Et hushed Vivina and told her to walk slowly as they went by. By the time they had tip toed by, the family had gone back into the forest. She looked back wondering where they went and then continued walking. She had to pull Vivina a bit to get her walking since she seemed to be confused as to what they were and where they went. A few more minutes passed and Et could see the giant sign in the shape of none other than an ice cream cone with three scoops and a cherry. She told Vivina to run and so they dashed the last few yards to the ice cream store. When they got there, all they had to do was to wait for the others.

Et and Vivina sat at a table waiting for the others to arrive. She saw that Vivina was looking at the posters on the windows, mouth open as the need for ice cream grew. She tugged Vivina's dress slightly just to prevent her from standing up on the seat and pulling the poster down. She didn't want to grab too much attention, not that Vivina was getting enough looks from the other customers. It's always her eyes they look at. What's wrong with having large eyes? I think they make one cute looking. She thought to herself and closed her eyes.
Vivina frowned as she was seated again. What were they waiting for? Why couldn't she get the ice cream now? She moaned impatiently and played with the frills on her dress. She also grabbed some napkins from the dispenser. She didn't want to spill ice cream all over her new dress, so she started to prepare herself beforehand. "Look Mommy! I beeinguh saff! No spill iece cweam on mai nuu duress!" She smiled at Et and was returned with a pat on her head and a return smile, which made Vivina feel good inside.
The jingle of the bell whenever the door opens echoed around. She also heard the gaspings of an excited child wanting ice cream. Et looked up from where she was sitting to see a small cat-like girl dash to the counter. This must have been Sahra. She looked towars the door and noticed the person in her gown and barefoot. She stared awkwardly and stood up to greet her. "Hey! You must be Mew, am I not correct? I'm glad you could have made it! It seems Sahra's choosing her flavor ice cream right now." She chuckled as she saw Vivina trotting over to the counter as well.
Vivina jumped off her seat and giggled as she ran over to the counter right after Et went to greet Mew. She saw another girl looking at the menu and wondered what flavor she liked. She went over and introduced herself. "Hai! Was yur name? Mine ees Vivina. Mai mommy ees ovur thare talkinguh. She duhs that a lot." She pointed over to Et and turned around again. "Wat flayvor are yuu getting? I like hunny careahmell crunchee, but I wanna try sumthing diffuhrant. Do yuu know anee gud flayvors?" She asked Sahra for advice on flavors and continued to look up at the many choices. Did she want to try Sparkling Strawberry Sorbet or the orange and creme cone with hot fudge drizzled on it? Or maybe even a multiflavored sundae. Yes...that way she could try a lot of flavors at once! Now to only find the perfect combination...

Standing in a slouched position, Mew was rather dazed and not primarily paying attention to anything at all. "Hm? Oh, yes, that would be me." She twisted and end of her gown in between her fingers, feeling almost odd wearing a dress instead of shorts and a tank top. Her tail swished back and forth, showing her content and calm mood. She softly padded to a nearby table and seated herself, pulling her feet up close to the chair. "Sahra's very indecisive, so, that may take a while." She laughed slightly, tilting her head while leaned on her fist to peer at the spotted girl from the corner of one eye. "Oh, yeah, that's right. It's nice to have met up with you." She had almost entirely forgotten to finish her greeting. "And what was your name again?"
Standing up on her very tip toes, Sahra could just barely see the ice cream, and she was having a very hard time seeing the kinds that were the closet to the glass. "Urg." She muttered, frustrated, she didn't know if she wanted Chocolate and Orange flavored ice cream, or Chocolate and Blue Moon! Or maybe Moose Tracks or Cookie Doe, TO many flavors. "Huh?" She turned to look at a girl, about her own height, roughly, and blinked. Was she talking to her? "Oh? Er? My name is, eh...Sahra." Sah felt a tad confused, even more than she had before with the flavors. But she guessed this was the kind of thing that happened in these kinds of places. Maybe she would be fun to mess around with!? "I'ma not sure yet." She admitted, "What're yew thinking? I usually just gwet the boring flavors. But they always the best..."

Et carefully observed Mew and raised an eyebrow. Is this how all people dress around here? She supposed not and thought that she must have been tired. Et followed Mew to the table and layed back casually, looking over at Vivina pointing up at the menu boards. "Hmm...Vivina might be going for her favorite, but I heard her mumble about trying something different today." She sat up as she saw some people staring at her, possibly thinking that she was asleep. "Oh, the pleasure is mine. And it's Etira. Just call me Et for short. Don't really like my full name." She added that at the end. She yawned and slouched over like a boy would and looked at the small table menu, spotting the Couples Sundae special. She sighed and looked away as she was suddenly filled with grief. She shrugged it away as if she didn't see the menu and looked up at the two girls again.
Vivina stood back to see the menu. She could read some of the flavors on it and jumped up and down to see the ones on the bottom of the list. The words did no good so she stopped jumping. "Sahra? Thas a nice name." She smiled and tried to look where the ice cream was also. She suddenly got an idea and pulled a chair over. She stood on it and gasped as a variety of flavors and colors appeared before her eyes. There was mint chocolate chip, mocha, butternut, rocky road, death by chocolate, cherry garcia, and even gelato! She eyed the chocolate and cream gelato and smiled as she remembered Et making homemade gelato. Her eyes caught something and looked at the end of the glass container. She read the label out loud. "Chocolat cuvur'd crickits? Thas a toppin! I luv crickits!" She decided to save that for a topping and went back to choosing a flavor. "Um...I'ma trying sumthing nuu. I think I wan Cweamy Rosewatur ice cweam with chocolat cuvur'd crickits!" She knew that other people might not like waht she liked, but she didn't care. She always thought on the bright side of things and jumped off the chair. "Wanna use it?"

Ears twitching, Mew's eyes never left Sahra as she stood at the counter side. It was much different letting her go out in the woodlands alone, there it was much safer than it was here. And even though she didn't know it, someone was always keeping an eye on her! Mew nodded in response, turning her head to look at Et for a quick moment, but then turning back almost immediately. But then she realized something, "Some'thin wrong?" she asked curiously, having noticed the mood in the air changing quickly around them. After pulling at the side of her gown, Mew noticed that she was attracting unwanted attention. She shot the various peoples a good glare, knowing that they would look away, she grunted, and turned her attention once again back to the two girls.
"Eh, thanks...yours is too." Sahra nodded contently, she did like her name, especially since it was a V name. She had always had a taste for names that began with the odd letters in the alphabet, they are different, and different is good! But as the girl dragged a chair along to look at the flavors, Sahra stood again on her tip toes to look at the selection. Oh! Triple fudge strawberry, which sounded appetizing, especially if Mew would allow her to get it dipped in that fast drying chocolate stuff she saw a lady get last time they were there. But she wanted orange, too, what could she do about that? She could get two different kinds, couldn't she? Well, she guessed she'd just have to hope so. "Naw, but thanks. I know whats I want, now, I think." She nodded, ponytail whipping around fiercely.

Et shrugged painful thoughts away and stood up straight. "Oh, no...nothing's wrong. Just a little stroll down memory lane." She looked up from a scraping noise, only to find that it was Vivina. She smiled as she saw her child getting excited over the many different flavors. Knowing Vivina, she'd probably get an exotic flavor. Et looked back at Mew who was glaring at the other people. She chuckled to herself and played with her hair. "You get that often? Heck, I sure do where I live. Dunno what these people's problems are. No one around my area has any fun and having purple hair considers you as a child of the Underworld. Darn those plain country folk...Why did I ever move there in first place?" She smiled and focused back to the two girls who seemed to be ready to order. "It seems the two are ready to order. I wonder what flavor they're getting..."
Vivina giggled as her long tail wrapped around the chair. She pulled the chair back to where it belonged and nearly ran into a group of people while getting back to Sahra. Vivina jumped up and down to signal Et to come here and then leaned against the glass. "Okies then. Thas good that yuu kno what yuu wan." She smiled and spun around, watching the frills on her dress fly out. She gazed at the lace and wondered how they got on the dress. She even wondered where Et got it without her noticing since she's almost always by her mommy's side. She shrugged and waited patiently for her mouth-watering treat.

"If you're sure, I just wanted to ask." Mew felt relaxed, leaning into her chair she stared up at the ceiling, thinking back to the many times she had dealt with such people. Some times had been more 'eventful' than others, but she didn't let any of it bother her, for it was their own problem if they didn't like what they saw. "Indeed." She responded sourly, "Some people just can't seem to deal with others who are vastly different than the normal population, it angers me. But it's their own problem, right? But it makes me all the more happy to live in the middle of nowhere." Following Et's gaze, she turned her head back yet again to the two small figures, wondering how things were going. "Well then, I suspect we better let them order." Mew arose form her chair, and headed for the counter.
Sahra couldn't take her eyes off of the ice cream in the display; she was now hungrier than before. She turned around on one heel, looking for her Mother. "Come on MOMMEH." She said excitedly, "I'ma hungry now." She watched as Mew rose, and she couldn't help but bounce around as she neared.

Et sighed once again and flipped her hair out of her face, which was bothering her slightly. Et got up and straightened her clothes. Then she followed Mew to the counter where th two girls were waiting anxiously. "Ready to order you two? Hehe...I'll see what I want to get also..." She smiled and looked at all the flavors. She didn't want anything too boring so she decided to get the Dirt Pie special with a lot of gummi worms in it. She looked at Vivina, who was tugging at her pants. She lifted the girl up and pet her head.
Vivina ran to Et and grabbed one of her legs. "Mommy...I hungree! N wat flayvur are yuu getting? I wants that one with thos crickit toppins" She pointed to the creamy rosewater and dug her nose under her scarf. She clung to Et as she was lifted into her arms and squeaked with joy.
"The rosewater? That's a really elegant taste you got there sweety. And I'm thinking of getting Mud Pie. It's really good." She lowered Vivina's scarf and tickled her nose. She calculated how much the ice cream would cost and and got her wallet out. She asked the man behind the counter for the ice cream and specified exactly how Vivina wanted hers. The man looked at Et and Vivina carefully, then shrugged as he scooped the ice cream. Et swore she heard him say something about weird children popping up everywhere and glared at the man while he wasn't looking. The man gave the ice cream to her and totaled up on the cashier. She dug through her wallet and grabbed $10 to pay for the two cups. She received the change and set Vivina down to give her her cup. She saw Vivina giggle and walk off towards the table Et and Mew were sitting at. Et then stepped aside to let Mew order for Sahra and her.

It hadn't taken Mew long to find her way to the counter, and looking around for a few moments, she quickly decided that she wasn't very hungry, nope, not at all. "Alright Sah, what are you getting?" She spoke softly, in a tone probably only Sahra could manage to hear, and possibly even only understand. Mew had always had a bad habit of using odd talk with the cheetah, although much different from baby talk, it would seem almost as bad. Mew leaned against the counter; staring into the display case, and down at all the different flavors that were there. She was leaning on her side, with her arms crossed, long locks of silvery hair nearly blocking her view.
"Mommeh~" Sahra strutted to her mothers side, looking up into her multi coloured eyes, she knew almost immediately that she probably wouldn't be getting anything, so, she walked up to the register. "Heya person." She said to the register clerk, trying to get his attention. It didn't take long at all, after all it was sort of hard to ignore something as odd looking as Sahra and Mew, they both stuck out quit badly. "I wants orange and cookie doe and triple strawberry fudge dipped in choco-LATE!" Sahra grinned to the clerk, looking up at Mew as she stood in front of the register, and handed a bill to the man after he had rung her up. "OHH. Ice cream~" She snatched the cone from the man's hands, and trotted off happily towards the table that Vivina sat at.
Mew simply shook her head, watching rather contently, she enjoyed seeing Sahra happy, and comfortable for that matter. She strolled slowly back over to the table and took a seat, crossing her legs after plopping down and sliding the chair in, she leaned on one fist, elbow digging into the table.

Et looked back to see Sahra walking happily back to the table. She smiled and let her sit with Vivina. She looked over at Mew and wondered why she didn't get ice cream for herself. "Hey Mew, aren't you going to eat anything?" She dug her spoon into the cup of ice cream, cutting a gummi worm in half, scooped up a spoonful of vanilla ice cream with Oreo cookie crumbs and gummi worm bits, and plopped it into her mouth with a content hum of satisfaction. The worms were cold and nearly frozen and Et nearly yelped in pain as she bit down hard on the candy. She swallowed the ice cream, leaving the candy to soften a bit before chewing again.
Vivina gaped as she observed carefully at the perfect cup of ice cream. The cream colored ice cream had a distant but sweet fragrant of roses. The top was covered in drizzled chocolate and chocolate covered crickets, just as she ordered it. She took a plastic spoon and carefully spooned a bit and tasted it. It was very sweet with a bit of crunch from the crickets. She made content noises and ate another spoonful. She looked over at Sahra to see what kind she got. She saw that she had a cone with many different flavors and lots of chocolate on top. She stared in awe and went back to eating her own ice cream.

Pulling up a free chair from a surrounding table, Mew seated herself close to the table, but not scooted up to it. She crossed her ankles and slide her feet up under her chair, leaning back, one arm weaved around the other. She made some effort to observe those around them, as odd as that was; it seemed quiet at the table. The girls were eating madly, or so it seemed to her, enjoying the sweet tastes of the dessert. Mew turned her attention back to Et, she had asked her something, hadn't she? But what was it? She hadn't exactly caught every word, even if there were only a few said. "Um...no not really." It was the perfect answer to anything, even though she wasn't sure what she was saying it to, she shrugged, not caring much, her gaze shifted, but her head did not; starring out a window, she quickly fell silent.
Sahra gnawed on her cone, having finished up the upper scoops and chocolate glaze quickly, this was the part she enjoyed the most! It was something could chew on happily without getting in trouble for ruining it, or getting yelled at because something "wasn't edible." That was always the excuse! Why did it have to be edible for her to chew on it!? She could never really understand that. "Oh. This is good." She nodded contently, looking over at Vivina, she grinned. "Good, too, neh?"

Et looked up as Mew replied. "Oh...ok then..." It seemed that Mew wasn't really paying attention. At least her reply made sense. She chewed on the gummi worms and prepared another scoop of ice cream. She noticed Mew gazing off in the distance and followed to where she was looking at. Et shrugged it off after seeing that she failed to find what the target of Mew's gaze was. She plopped the spoon in her mouth and quickly froze after Mew went unusually quiet. She looked at her wondering what was wrong and nudged her just to make sure. "Hey, Mew...are you alright?" She glanced at the two girls and saw that they were to busy enjoying the ice cream to notice anything.
Vivina munched on the topping and soon found out that she had eaten all of the crickets and chocolate. She giggled and went on to eat more of the actual ice cream rather than just the topping. She took the cup and dunked her spoon into it, scooping up a round lump of creamy ice cream. She observed how it shined in the light and licked it off the spoon instead of placing it all in her mouth. "Mmm....yes, this ice cream is vewwy good."
