Seth looked about the beach in excitement. Damon had agreed to let him go so long as he stayed at the section near a certain bookstore that a friend of his worked at. Well... Friend might have been stretching it a little but she was usually willing to give him a ride home if it got late. Towel, sunscreen, and varying sand castle-making supplies tucked carefully into the bag slung over his shoulder, as well as some money for food, Seth made his way closer to the water. He didn't plan on getting wet, but he did intend on finding some pretty shells or at least lounging in the sun for the better half of the day.
As he got set up on a more remote part of the beach, it didn't take long for the beginnings of a somewhat elaborate castle to form. Sure the tide would take it away and ruin his hard work but the naga didn't mind. It was fun for him and the sun felt nice after the air conditioned bus and house. Why Damon and Ily couldn't stand the summer heat was beyond him.

"All right, Sita. Now, this time, I want you to stay close," Soljyr advised the young naga. "No running off like last time. This place is pretty busy and I want to know where you are." Sita nodded and smiled happily. She had been anxious to return to the beach again, and today's weather was much more pleasant than last time. "Stay out of trouble and I'll buy you some ice cream."
As Sita slithered across the warm sands, her belly tingled with excitement. She was hugging a small red bucket in her arms as she approached the water, inside which was a yellow sifter and two shovels. There was also a tiny rubber duck wearing a sailor's hat and a tiny riverboat that sank more frequently than it floated. She had her tools, and now she intended to construct a sandcastle worthy of the kings and princesses she'd heard about in her bedtime stories.

Seth had the basic foundation of his sand castle done and was in the middle of working on a fort when he heart a sound he could only describe as scales across sand. As he looked up, his purple eyes widened in surprise and he nearly knocked over his castle as he waved a hand in her direction. "Sita! Over here!" he called out, voice just barely a notch above a normal speaking level for most. She hadn't aged at all since they had met in that laundromat, a fact that saddened him a bit.
But, that was what was weird about them. Nobody ever aged at the same pace and as a result, there were few that remained the same age through life. Moving over, Seth adjusted his tail so he wasn't hogging up all the room and she had a place to rest. Glancing around, he didn't see her guardian at all. At least, not the same one that was at the laundromat and the only other person nearby that she DID see was a guy, not a girl. Strange.

Sita had flipped the bucket over by the time she heard an oddly familiar voice. Where had she heard that voice before? It certainly wasnt completely as she had heard it the first time, she knew that much. She hesitantly turned around when she saw another naga with black hair trailing down his back. But on his head there was.. Something resembling a a tuft of brightly colored tuft of feathers. It was almost like a flower perched on his head. He may have grown, but Sita recognized her biggest friend. "SETH! It's Seth! Daddy it's Seth!" she screamed with bliss, sliding up to him. "Wooooaahhh.. You got biiig!" she giggled, hugging him.
Soljyr had been setting up the beach towel and umbrella (he'd learned better from last time) when he noticed something? "Who is that?" he muttered to himself. Then she hugged him... "Do these two know each other already?"

Seth giggled and hugged her back, grinning from ear to ear. "An' you haven' changed a bit," he replied, glancing back to the one she had apparently been calling to. Daddy? Maybe she had a second guardian that wasn't at the laundromat that day. That would explain a lot. Deciding that's what had happened, he waved to the man before turning his lilac eyes back to his friend.
"So Sita, how've you been? Wanna help me with my sand castle?" he asked, settling back into his coil. All the excitement was tiring, and he severely hoped she wouldn't make him wander around. So much energy to be wasted. That was why he was carried everywhere when he was younger. It just made sense.

Sita noticed his glance over her shoulder and she looked over and saw Soljyr looking back at them. He was putting on sunscreen this time, too. Sita remembered last time he turned red. "Hi, Daddy!" she called out, waving one arm over her head with a big grin on her face. He waved back with a friendly, but curious smile. "Mhm, I wanna hewp you wid your sancassel," she answered, picking up her trusty shovel. She drove the plastic blade into the darker, and as she had learned, much stickier sand.
"Where is it?" she asked, tilting her head as she scanned the beach for anything that would mark a sandcastle. Maybe there'd be a moat! She'd seen those in the castle stories Daddy had read her before. She picked up her rubber duck sailor and boat and put them back in the bucket. With Seth's help, she really could mold a colossal sandcastle with a moat and towers like in the books!

Seth laughed softly, pointing at the perfect square and small trench around it. At each corner there was a rounded circle seemingly stuck on for a tower that would be added later on as he started going up. He always worked in layers, finding it easier to accomplish in the end. "Here, star' adding onto th' outside tha' way. I'll work on th' second layer," he instructed, already moving around the castle and pointing to the end farthest from the shore. No need adding onto it so it was closer to the water and closer to destruction by water and unsuspecting beach goers.
As Sita worked, or so he figured she was, he started to add on the second level, molding out the towers and their tops as he went. Working slowly and carefully, Seth made sure none of it would just give way at a moment's notice and ruin all his hard work. "I though' your guardian was a girl, Sita. She at home?" he asked curiously, glancing up at her as he waited for her to answer.

Sita giggled and followed the intructions to the best of her abilities. "Okay, Seth!" she agreed, slithering over to the sandcastle under maintenance. She dropped her bucket on the sand and picked up her shovel, raising it up. As best she could understand Seth's intructions, her job was to increase the boundaries of the foundation. So she emptied out the rest of the bucket beside her and filled it to the rim with some damp sand closer to the shoreline. Minute by minute, she refilled and reemptied the bucket until she figured she had a wall going. So she scooped up some sand with her hands, happily snickering at the the texture of the wet sand in her hands. It was like molding clay! She patched up the sides and patted it gently into structure.
She was so engrossed by her work that she hardly heard Seth's question. It brought back a flicker of memory of that other woman that she'd spent time with, but it was kind of fuzzy. "She? No.. I like wid Daddy now.. I.." she started, frowning slightly as she tried to remember. "Mommy could'en keep me.." She pouted slightly at the thought. It upset her some, but she couldn't understand why... Daddy was taking real good care of her now. "I stay wid Daddy now.. " Her toddler mind couldn't interpret the conflict.

Seth had half of the second tier done by the time Sita managed to fully answer him. Her mother couldn't take care of her so the facility gave her to a new parent? That was, just, so sad sounding. Pausing in his castle making, he looked up and over at his friend. She didn't seem as upset as he had thought she might be at such a revelation. At least she was taking it well.
"Oh... M'Sorry. Hey, maybe we can go do other things now like... Get ice cream or go t' th' museum," he commented with a small grin. Yeah, that'd be awesome! He could hang out and play with Sita more! It wasn't often he ran into someone who was also a naga nowadays anyways. Finishing up some of the detail work of the second tier, he paused to look at his work. "Whatcha think?"

Sita was too puzzled by her emotions and drifting memories to really notice Seth's effort. Should she have been sadder? It upset her, she knew that much... Maybe Daddy would know why... She'd go ask him later and then it wouldn't bother her so much anymore, she figured.
She looked up suddenly, the frustration erased from her face and she looked over at Seth and smiled. "Okay! Daddy sed he'd buy meh ice cweam, too! But I have t' stay outta trubble," she responded, clapping her hands together. She gasped as an idea popped into her head. "Maybe Daddy can buy us bo't ice cweam!" She giggled to herself.
The sands still felt warm under her scales as she slid back a little ways for a better vantage point. "Woooooah... It looks jus' like de ones in my book! It's biiiig! Jus' like you, Seth!" she shouted with excitement. She reached down and picked up her duck sailor and placed him high up on one of the second tier, stretching up on her tail to reach such a height without falling over. She wouldn't want to wreck the sand castle after all that work! She slid back to her vantage point and placed a finger on her chin and tilted her head a bit, thinking. "Hm.. Sumthin' missing.. I know! A flag! All de cassels in the book gots a flag!"

"My dad gave me money so he doesn' have t' pay for me," Seth replied, chuckling as well. Sita acted a lot like himself, but less... lazy and far more energetic. Now he knew what it felt like to deal with himself when he was younger... Sorta.
Seth laughed as Sita stretched to reach the top, remembering how he wouldn't bother with such things. No, he'd have asked to be picked up or had someone else who could easily reach it put the ducky on top. "A flag? Hm..." Looking around, it took the sloth spawn several moments to find what he was looking for. Moving over to his bag, he dug around in it for a few minutes, eventually pulling out several toothpicks with little flags on top. "Aha! I knew I had packed these. Here, put some on." Handing his fellow naga several of the mini flags, he started decorating the castle with them while leaving the top tower alone. He figured he would let Sita put that one on. How was beyond him, since he doubted he could lift her up.

Sita eagerly picked three flags out of Seth's open hand and noted the locations where he placed them. He'd left the tallest tower for her, and frowned slightly. It was pretty high up. Could she reach that high? Even when she stretched up on the base of her tail? It would take a major effort to do it, but she was determined. She slid up to the tallest column, and forced her much more muscular lower body to lift her up. She extended her arm way up, leaning ever closer, her tongue sneaking out of the corner of her mouth. Finally, she drove it into the sand and fell backwards with a deep breath. "Oof. Got it," she said, gazing up proudly at her accomplishment. The sandcastle looked complete now. Was a shame the wind and water were going to bring it down.
She stretched her arms over her head and yawned, licking her lips a bit. Her eyelids dropped a bit. She was ready for a nap..

Seth yawned as well, wishing he could take a nap as well. "Yay! I coulda helped you ge' up there, yanno," he replied sleepily as he stretched. Yeah, a nap would be awesome right about now, but it wasn't exactly wise to do. "Wanna go ge' some ice cream now?" he asked, already moving over to where his bag was to see how much money was in there.
He had just enough for a bus fare back and an ice cream cone or two. "I have enough money for my ice cream," Seth added, flashing the little naga a grin. Today was turning out way better than he could have ever imagined!

The more he yawned, the more Sita felt compelled to yawn back. It was exhausting. At one time the sun seemed to warm her scales and send tingles throughout her body. But now, it was just soothing her mind into a nap. She stretched her arms over head again and yawned. "Yeah, le's get some ice cweam," she agreed, slithering after Seth. She wondered what her Daddy would say about her going off with him to get some. After all, he had promised to buy her some ice cream, too. But she figured her Daddy would be okay. He was watching her after all. Seth had grown up an awful lot since she'd last seen him... But he was still cool, just like she remembered him. Maybe he'd let her get sprinkles! And a chocolate dip! Mm, she could taste it already!
Soljyr noticed Sita and Seth slithering off together and he frowned for a moment before shrugging his shoulders and laying down on the blanket. She'd be fine. Seth seemed somewhat responsible based on what he'd seen so far. Maybe he could watch her sometime. The sun felt warm on his skin, but he'd blocked out the searing bright spot that was the sun from his vision. There were was an outstanding amount of women around, dressed in something that he would certainly consider obscene compared to his home world. He wasn't sure whether it was appropriate for him to look... Occasionally one of them would glance over at him, though.

Seth manuevered up to the ice cream stand at the edge of the beach, glad to see that there wasn't a line there to wait in. "I'll get th' choc'late one. One scoop," he said, not really caring for the fancier flavors the little stand might offer. There were a couple he liked, but on hot days like this he didn't really want them and besides, he wanted to make sure he had enough for whatever Sita might want. Try as he might, he could only imagine her as his new little sister despite her being adopted by a different family and as a good older brother should, he was buying her a treat.
"Oh, an' whatever she want's too," he added, already fumbling for his money. The woman operating the ice cream stand simply nodded, flashing a small smile to Sita as she waited for whatever she might want.
