User ImageUser ImageUser ImageUser ImageUser ImageName: Raide Lowe

Age: 15

Home town: Vermillion City

Where you’ve been: Vermillion City, Lavender Town, Cerulean City

Pokemon Level: 52 (Most recent increase from Battle Tower Event)

Where you are: Rock Tunnel

Where you’re going: To Foil Team Rocket!

Bio: Raide is the oldest daughter of a chef and a sailor, and is the older sister of Anne and Ike. She’s lived in Vermillion City for most of her life, only leaving occasionally through any land-routes, but mostly taking trips with her mother the sailor over to Cinnabar Island or sometimes Pewter. Because of her location and the very few places she’s been, she’s met many people on adventures while she was living her every day life, and openly admitted that she was jealous of the fun they seemed to be having. Living near Lt. Surge didn’t help deter her from her goal, either, only strengthening her desire to have her own adventure. Unfortunately, having a protective but sweet father prevented her from leaving as soon as she would have liked. They made a deal. Raide could go as soon as she reached a certain height, but neither of them anticipated that she’d never reach the target height for so long.

Finally, her father relented, but made her promise to stay until her birthday. Raide agreed, but when they went out on their boat to celebrate, some unexpected conditions resulted in an accident which resulted in a broken leg and another delay for Raide. To say that she was unhappy was an understatement, and spent a while sulking and glaring at customers in her father’s restaurant before her Mother kicked her out and told her to do something productive. Sulking was unladylike and uncharacteristic for her. There were better ways of killing time.

So Raide was having a wonderful time. Anne was already on an adventure with her Chikorita, she had nothing to do except hang around Pokemon-Type literature, and it was that time of year when most of her friends had better things to do than hang around ‘crutches’. Not that she blamed them. It was probably as boring to hang around her as it was to be her. So she waited.

The next year rolled around and, while Raide had been healed for a good amount of time, was only just preparing to leave. A safe surprise party had been thrown, with pillows coating every surface just for irony. This sweet gesture almost (almost) made up for the disappointment of last year. And then Anne dropped in and, being the sweet and bright girl that she normally was, dropped a present while she was there. It was a Pokeball, which Raide was curious about because she hadn’t been sure where she was going to catch her first Pokemon, but Anne warned that he was very spirited.

The Pokeball clicked open, and as the red formed a small shape, a burst of flame came shooting out at Anne and Raide who was leaning in beside her. Apparently, Anne had been expecting something like that, because obviously the Cyndaquil had been upset when it had been returned to its Pokeball, and Anne was able to anticipate and leap away comically. Raide was not so lucky, and simply tumbled back as far away as possible. She was uninjured, but her hair was unfortunately not. Someone poured their water bottle on her which saved the event from being more tragic than memorable, but Raide still had to take a pair of scissors to the singed ends. Unfortunately unless she wanted to fight her cowlick every day on the road, she wouldn’t be able to cut the sides evenly. Anne told her that she could rock the asymmetrical look, so uneven it was.

Before anyone could stop to check for anymore burns, she had grabbed some safety gloves and darted out the door with a goodbye. Raide was headed to Lavender Town. A small, calm place to start out.... Or so she assumed. On the way there, she debated walking in the tall grass or not as she would need to catch some other Pokemon later on, but she wasn’t sure how much her new Pokemon liked to fight. The earlier flames could have been an example of enthusiasm, maybe. As she was lost in thought, the rustling of some nearby tall grass caught her attention and she stopped to watch curiously. A blurred green figure burst out of the greenery, Raide shrieked, and tossed Cyndaquil’s Pokeball. The battle was over with one move and a thrown Pokeball, and Raide found herself with a Scyther as well as an unpredictable Cyndaquil. She fixed them up with some potions, introduced herself, and they continued on their way.

Raide tends to be a rather mild-mannered and sometimes timid person who is on the road for no other reason than she has always wanted to be. The language barrier between her and her Pokemon is something that troubles her and she has trouble knowing what they are feeling, though she wants to be a good trainer to them. She just doesn't quite know how.
Always she tries to be polite and considerate, but she can be somewhat nosy, get too upset with failure, and has trouble being a good loser when the other is a bad winner.
Gym battles are her goal at the moment, and she doesn't have enough confidence in her skills to go for the League. She'll deal with that obstacle when she gets there.

Pokémon

Pokémon: Cyndaquil
Name confused
Nickname confused
Pokémon bio’s: Cyndaquil was born in the wild, but was captured a few months after his birth, which didn’t sit well with him (or his new trainer) at all. Unfortunately for everyone, Cyndaquil was born into a rather large family where he had several older Quilava and Typhlosion siblings. Needless to say, from his older siblings he learned the basics of self defense and developed a love for being a pain.
The first person who trained him was a new, ten-year old trainer who was not quite prepared to have such a spirited Pokemon joining the team, when the Pokemon didn’t quite understand teamwork. So he traded him early on for a Charmander.
The next person traded him for a Growlithe. The next traded for a Torchic. The next for a Chimchar. Finally, Anne came to be his trainer in exchange for a mild-mannered Ponyta. Needless to say Raide’s sister was rethinking her decision soon after Cyndaquil got into an argument with her poor grass-type starter. But then Anne had an idea. She felt so smart. Who better to give the Cyndaquil to than her sister, Raide, who needed a Pokemon to leave the city?
After a little family reunion, Anne presented a still very upset Cyndaquil to Raide. He came out of his Pokeball, and as he was expecting to see a grass-type-starter, greeted the first person he saw with some flames. And there went half of the girl’s hair, who decided that she needed her dad’s insulated gloves before leaving.
Cyndaquil is a “fiery” little creature who loves attention. He will show off, irritate people, and use his fireworks in order to attract that attention, generally being a pain until someone is smart enough to shower him with compliments. Besides this, he does his best to hold a grudge to make first impressions last, but really doesn’t have the memory span as of yet to make that happen.

Pokémon: Scyther
Name: ?
Nickname: ?
Pokémon bio’s: Scyther was captured in his sleep by a trainer that liked to battle without putting too much effort into training his Pokemon. He was also rich, rather lazy, and lacked a sturdy spine, but Scyther battled for him because he wanted to become a better fighter. Unfortunately, he had to fight mostly on his own and grew tired of the whole “trainer” concept before very long. Actually, when his trainer ran away from a thief, releasing him from captivity, he would have been relieved if it had not been raining and there had not been a Golem left for him to fight while the thug pursued his former trainer.
Understandably, he was upset when soon after he was captured again when he was just waking up. Well, he might have looked a little aggressive when he cut his way out of the tall grass, but that was no reason to jump to conclusions. So once again he felt that he was stuck with an incompetent trainer. At least this one looked like she might give training a try... But it was doubtful they’d get anywhere far.
Scyther likes to win more than he likes to battle, and is less aggressive than most members of his species, picking his battles rather than simply charging into a fight... Though if challenged will be rather vicious. He is cunning and brave, but has not yet found anyone to be worthy of loyalty.

Pokémon: Chinchou
Name: Nell
Nickname: ---
Pokémon bio’s: From the time she was little, Nell had been a part of a small school of Chinchous and Lanturns who hung together for a sense of kinship as well as safety, though Nell was always the one to give the older members the greatest and most shocking heart attacks with her carefree attitude and her ability to turn even the most serious situations into something completely and utterly silly. Everyone constantly worried over her in particular not because of her fun-loving heart, but because of her innocence and quickness to forgive. The toughest Lanturn she knew used to say that she'd somehow make friends with a Sharpedo before it managed to eat her.
All was good in the school for Nell and the rest of her little family until they decided to move south to an area without cities in order to evade fishermen more effectively. Unfortunately for Nell, she missed the date when everyone was set to leave, so she tried to follow them. Obviously, she ended up making a wrong turn right into a river where she met a bunch of clueless looking trainers and decided to have some fun. It seems like she doesn't really mind having a trainer that much, after all.
Nell is one that likes battling for the sport, not for recognition, winning, or the beating up other of Pokemon. It simply is not in her personality. She likes to have fun, play games, and cheer up people who look less than happy. It is likely that she will always be a sweet and helpful little girl at heart, though she can't stand it when others are needlessly mean.

Pokémon: Egg (Dratini)
Name: ?
Nickname: ?
Pokémon bio’s: This egg was dropped from the sky during a battle with a Dragonite. How long until it hatches? It has only flashed once.
