User ImageHer bell jingled as she stepped lightly, in a happy manner. She was glad about something that had happened. She had a little friend now.. one which was now trailing along behind her. A gift from a child hood friend of hers that had known her before her accident. Actually.. the little pink and white fluff of an impish raccoon behind her had demanded she stay with her.. not wanting to leave such a fluffy and soft companion behind. She wasn't a small mare.. in fact.. she was big.. like her father was big.. sure all drafts were big but she was even big for a draft. her coat was for lack of a better term... fluffy.. and soft.. very soft. in fact even though she wasn't vain.. she did try to keep her coat well taken care of because of what another had once said about how soft and fluffy she'd been as a foal.

"Wait up!" Piped up the little raccoon even though she knew very well that the big mare couldn't hear her. she was scrambling on her hind legs trying to keep up as best as she could, her front paws clenched in little fists around two strange objects, one of which resembles a two-leggers soother for an infant then again.. it looked very much like a raspberry too... As she stopped, the little raccoon was finally able to catch up to her, gladly scrambling ti sit upon her back and rest for a while.

His footsteps were markedly paced as he indulged his wanderlust again this day, wandering further away from where his family tended to congregate today than he usually did. His sole company was a crow whose feathers echoed his own coloration, and who chose to perch on his back today instead of flying overhead.

Bardán hummed a tune under his breath while he contentedly enjoyed the day and the sights that unrolled before him. But a faint, unusual tingle of sound caught his attention, ears flicking forward as he recognized the chime of a bell in motion. Turning, he glimpsed another in the direction he perceived the bell. The decision of whether or not to approach was taken from him when the crow on his back leapt into the sky, winging toward the stranger and drawn mostly by the unusual raccoon that trailed her.

Sighing, Bardán trailed after, ready to intervene if his familiar got too obnoxious in the bird's quest to satisfy its curiousity.

She couldn't help but to chuckle as she felt the little Raccoon scramble into a lounging position. "Binky... I wasn't moving THAT fast." She snickered some knowing full well by now that Her familiar was now most likely scolding her or just pouting. She stopped long enough to turn her neck and look at Binky to make sure she wasn't too angry. It was then the movement of an incoming crow caught her attention. Behind the crow seemed to be a stallion advancing in their direction. She gave a small smile and waited for the duo to get closer before giving a nod as a greeting. With Binky here she really didn't need to talk much at all anymore. After all.. Binky read her body language well enough to just about tell others what she was thinking.

Binky perked her little head, tucking her straw and pacifier into hiding under Idonea's collar before hopping up and down excitedly. She liked meeting others unless they had a cat with them.. only cat pet she liked was sippy's cat.. and that was because he didn't try to eat her.

If he had a hand to cover his face with, Bardán would have over what Bran did when the crow reached the unknown pair. Keen eyes had noted the presence of strange objects, and curiosity demanded a closer look. So without bothering to ask permission, Bran dropped down to land on the mare's back, beside the raccoon, and promptly began attempting to get a closer look at Binky, wondering where the things had gone.

"Really Bran, must you always be getting into things and being rude to strangers?" Heaving a weary sigh, Bardán shook his head in wry resignation as he closed the last few feet between himself and Idonea. Looking to her, he dipped his head in greeting briefly. "I do apologize, miss, for his bad behavior. Bran can't help himself sometimes, and he doesn't seem to learn better no matter how much I scold him."

Binky edged closer to Idonea's collar protectively, the fish skeleton earring flicking as her ears wiggled. "Binky's no touch!" She glared at the crow as he looked at her.

She just smiled and offered another nod, her eyes moving to watch his mouth. Her withers flicked to get Binky's attention. to the situation. "it's ok.. Binky's just... protective of her things." She risked talking to get out the sentence as a whisper.

Binky hadn't been expecting Idonea to shift and so tumbled off her back sideways landing on the ground with a dull thud. "Idonea!!! you drop Binky!!!!" She stamped her little paws on the ground in a small fit knowing that the mare couldn't head her but would feel the pitter patter of her paws on the ground.

Bran cocked his head slightly to one side as he regarded Binky wordlessly. He could talk, but generally chose not to. Like now, when he ignored Bardán's reprimand in favor of indulging his own interests. Perhaps if he'd been paying attention to the stallion, or even the mare, he would have expected his impromptu perch to shift. But he didn't, and was forced to beat his wings hard to catch air before he too could fall along with Binky. Indignantly he squawked at Idonea before seeking to land on Bardán's back instead.

Mildly amused, Bardán shifted away from the crow, forcing the bird to land on the ground instead. His ears tilted forward to catch the low tones of the mare's speech, interest rising as he noted a slight irregularity in her speech that went beyond the fact that she whispered. Subconsciously he dropped his own volume, though he didn't understand the impulse. "She's right to, as he's likely to make off with them if not watched. Typical crow, you know. May I ask your name? Mine is Bardán, and you've already met Bran."

She'd glanced down to look at Binky throwing her fit before the stallion had spoken. Missing the start, she'd only gotten the last bit of it causing her to look at him curiously.Blinky stopped her tantrum to look at the stallion. "Idonea's deaf. She can't hear but reads lips good!." She giggled and scrambled over to inspect the stallion. "I'm Binky! She's Idonea!" She held out her hands to the stallion. "Binky up?"Watching the raccoon, she sighed and shook her head giving the stallion an apologetic sort of look. Binky could be a handful but then.. she reminded her of Loff and his raccoon Sippy.

Bardán blinked in surprise, looking between Idonea and Binky. Well, that explained things, didn't it? He shifted his wings, a slight rise and fall, as he dismissed any misgivings he might have over the situation, accepting it as unchangeable fact. "I wasn't aware of the fact, or I would have waited until she could, until you could... read my words, as it were." He gave Idonea a brief smile before lowering his head to Binky. "I can lift you up if you hold on to my horn."

Bran, meanwhile, was thoroughly jealous. Unused to being ignored like this, he grumbled to himself while flipping his wings into more comfortable positions. But as he was easily distracted, his attention quickly turned to observing the insect life in the grass around him, head tilting contemplatively as he considered a snack.

She gave a polite smile and shook her head lightly. "It's fine.." She smiled once more watching Binky. Binky was happily distracting herself by latching hold of his horn and waiting to be hoisted up. "She is like.. small two-legger.. My apologies..." She gave a small chuckle. Weeks ago without Binky, she'd have preferred to stay mute..not talk and let the world go by. But now.. things had happened to keep her from retreating into her self and shying away. She watched intently to see what the other would do with Binky's giddy childish impishness.

Bardán chuckled softly to Idonea's words, finding truth in them. He knew she probably could tell that he found humor in her accurate description of her raccoon friend, not in the subtle movements that gave voice to a chuckle. Gently he lifted his head, mindful of his furry burden, neck arching until he'd brought Binky high enough to deposit her once more on Idonea's back. He stepped back again, conscious of possibly coming too close for comfort and aware that there must be sufficient space between them for her to read his words. "I do not mind, as she at least, a little bit, asks first. But your description is rather accurate, for she does remind me of the little ones I've seen with their parents."

She chuckled and nodded reading his lips. "She is at least good about that.." She glanced at the crow. "He seems interested in bugs.." She smiled again and shuffled her front legs to jingle her bell.

Binky had been ready for it this time the sudden shifting. She caught hold of Idonea's collar and held on, getting her Pacifier and straw once things had settled again and shaking the pacifier so that it's tiny bell echoed Idonea's.
