Gabrielle had made it a point to keep facing forward, knowing that their break earlier (starting with the accursed porcupine) had put them behind in their journey. It was bittersweet, though: more time spent away from the do-gooders, after all. It was almost like procrastination . . . Though Gabby knew she couldn't put it off for much longer.
