Darkspine stood at the entrance of her cave, watching the waves rush up the beach and retreat to the ocean again. Alone. That one word summed everything up for the mutant kelpi. She had lived her life avoiding others, even her own kind, for trying to come to terms with her differences. She was deformed, a mutant.. a monster. And utterly alone.

Well, thiiiss was a new part of the world that he hadn't explored before! There was water! A whooole lot of water, and it actually seemed to be (gasp!) trying to EAT the land here. Jiao-Long tossed his mane a bit in the sea-breeze and snorted at the waves, prancing toward them, and away again.
Then he lowered his head and actually charged at the ocean, running a few feet into the water before turning around and plunging back to the beach again, tail lashing about behind him. This was definitely a strange place ... Hm... perhaps he should find a guide! Spotting a figure not too far off, Jiao-Long took off in that direction at a canter, pulling up a few feet away from what he could now see was a weird-looking mare. "Hello! What is this place? I've never seen anything like it!" he called to her, glowing eyes fixed upon her form.

Darkspine started a bit at the voice and turned toward the speaker, fixing her own glowing gaze on the equally weird-looking stallion. Another mutant? Not one like her, though. She stepped forward so he could hear her better over the soft roar of the waves.
"This is the ocean," she told him. "The big water that divides the lands from each other." The mare studied the stranger a moment more. "You are not like other Soquili."

Jiao-Long blinked at that and peered out at the water, pawing a bit at the surf still rolling over the top of his hooves. His tail flicked back and forth a few times as he looked back over toward the mare.
"Nope, I'm not! And you're not either~" Prancing toward her, he was aiming to go in a circle around her, sniffing here and there. Though if she tried to get away he might chase her. Or let her go, he wasn't sure yet. But this was deeefinitely interesting.

The kelpi was confused by the strange male's actions. Usually other Soquili ran away from her, frightened by her ugliness. This unusual stallion seemed to want to be near her. "Who are you? Why are you here?" She watched him move around in a circle. "And what are you doing?"
