I'm curious to see what you all think. I personally think the man's a visionary - his art expresses a sense of wonder I find all too lacking nowadays. Spirited Away is definitely my favorite of his films. Ever since I first saw it, I've consistently teared up. It's one of the best coming-of-age stories I've ever seen on screen, and it expertly captures the beauty and treachery of that liminal state of pre-adolescence.

Also, in accordance with the forum rules: ☁ I would give a verbal threat then Walter gassed him ☁

Spirited away has always been my favorite movie, enough said. My second favorite movie was Howl's Moving Castle. I love his movies (Ponyo was a little disappointment, its art looks amazing like all of his movies. But the story could have had more adventure.)

Glad to find a fellow Spirited Away fan! And I agree on all counts with respect to Ponyo - though I think perhaps little kids will really enjoy it.

I haven't seen many of what he has done unfortchenetly. Though I'm sure most would agree that Howl's and Spirited are two of his most popular, while Totoro is more of a icon in a sence. I mean there was the whole seen in South Park recently from it.. (Kuthulu and the COON) I would like to see more of his work just because I haven't seen anything of his I don't like.

I've seen most of it, and really, there hasn't been anything I haven't enjoyed. I say, go for it!

Realy big into anime in general but as far as the movies go I don't think I've seen anything other than his. The Death Note ones aren't technicaly Anime I don't think. The movies I mean.

Hmmm...another good anime film is The Place We Were Promised in our Early Days (the Japanese title is Kumo no Mukō, Yakusoku no Basho) is a good one. The filmmaker takes after Miyazaki, I think. Also, I haven't seen Grave of the Fireflies, but I've heard it's really good.

Haha, yeah, that's about the consensus, I'd say.
