As a new morning approached the crisp sun shone down onto the dusty streets and the thirsty sea, peeping though sleeping homes and onto tired eyes it carved its way through the districts. Barely past dawn and the heat was rising, and along with it the inhabitants of the Imperial City. The docks were bustling with the sound of men shouting out orders, shipments and boxes being unloaded and loaded right back up again, young apprentices running errands in a never ending game of cat and mouse, It was a hidden part of the city for most, especially to those that had a higher status of life to fulfil and A'Meiya was no objection, she had never seen the active work force that ran behind the scenes of this city, keeping the clogs moving while everything else seemed to fall apart. But life continued none the less.
The Quan family had been split into two parties for the day. A'Meiya's twin step-brothers had joined their father at one of his many workshops, to once again force the ego filling "This will be all yours one day, never forget that." down their throats and boy did they know it! A'Meiya had been invited begrudgingly but her brothers made sure the trip would not be a fun one for her and instead she joined her Mother, Fung Mee, for the lesser evil of going to the market with her. A skilled tailor and designer of clothes Fung Mee never forgot her poor roots of being a simple stall seller and every month she would take wares to the city market and sell them at half price for people of a less fortunate stance. Not that A'Meiya was really taking notice, she was bored. Bored, bored, bored. And she was finding this the perfect time to pester her mother about returning to the coast for a holiday, her home town, the place of her dreams.
"Ma! We have been here scant months, when is it that we...that we, well...when can we go back to the coast? Just for a trip i mean! I miss it so much!" The girl whined loudly as she paced back and forth in front of the stall as her mother set up. Fung Mee acted like the question wasnt heard spreading her hand across a crease in one of the more expensive items. Her brow furrowed for one moment as she answered her now fidgeting daughter. Nothing new there then.
"You have answered your own question A'Meiya. We have only been here a short time, your father - " " - Step Father! -""- Ahem, yes, step father, is still setting up ties for his new workshop here. He can't be seen as taking a break so quickly. That will lose him creditability and he s a man of honour, to lose face to buyers will equal to him losing respect to the workers. We can't have that now can we?"
A'meiya wiggled her nose in defiance, her still fidgeting hand were now playing with the barely straightened merchandise as she pondered whether or not to say her Step father wasn't going to be invited on this trip but instead went for the safer protest.
"But Ma! To go on a small break will surely show his workers he is Lunarian! They will relate, I am sure of it! and the buyers are eager, another week wouldn't make a difference!"
A sharp intake of breath was the immediate response from Fung Mee and she followed it up with a strict glowing stare. "A'Meiya! Am I to take it that you are now wise in the art of business? I dare say you are not! So shush your prattling this instant or I will withdraw your training sessions for a month! - " "- What! Nooo! Oh Ma, don't! I was just saying is all!" Mei retorted with a few stomps of her feet, the clothes now well and truly crumpled as she pulled at them between her hands in a growing tantrum. Fung Mee stared back in shocked silence before realising what her daughter was doing, swiftly coming to the rescue of her pieces of art. "Aiie! A'meiya! Your ruining the silk!" A stray hand battered her daughters grubby paws away from her work and once again she set about straightening her wares.
"No more talk of this A'Meiya, the decision has been made! Now unless you want to me to make good on that threat i suggest you make yourself useful and help the others buy supplies - ""- But! - " "But Nothing A'Meiya!" It was very obvious to all who were eavesdropping that Mei was losing the battle, all except Mei of course as she whined in despair at being sent away. She knew better than to argue further with her mother, she may not have the strength or skill of a blade but her Mothers tongue could cut deep and it was best to stay on the softer side of its lashing. It didn't mean she couldn't show her frustration with the whole situation though and with a few choice kicks to the gravel of course. But after a while the dust wasn't nearly satisfying enough, not even close and before Fung Mee saw what was going to happen, A'Meiya had taken it upon herself to kick the life out of every stone and object she could find on the floor.
It was around this time that the villagers had also had enough of her too and Mei found herself fleeing the scene after a kick to hard landed her ankle deep into someone's display of Mochi balls. They still looked good to her, but offering to eat them for free had been the last straw. The sound of Fung Mee requesting calm rang in her ears as she ran down the street, heading for the docks and safety. It was probably one of many mistakes A'Meiya would do that day, but running away with her head down and eyes closed was probably not the brightest.

Kiran stared at the kid in front him. He had to crouch down to be at eye level with the little kid, who couldn't have been older than six or seven. The kid returned the stare without blinking even once. Kiran leaned forward and attempted to look intimidating. But his menacing appearance didn't even make the kid flinch. He paused to ponder another tactic. Pressing his lips together, he puffed out his cheeks then made his eyes cross. The kid slapped a hand over his mouth, but he couldn't stifle the giggle that escaped him.
"Ah! I heard that," Kiran said with a wide grin. "That means I win."
"Not fair! You cheated," the kid argued with a distressing look upon his face.
"What?" Kiran gasped as he placed a hand over his chest. "I never!" Of course, that wasn't actually true. Anyone that truly knew him would say he cheated all the time. He couldn't deny the greedy side of him that was constantly looking for a way to cheat someone of their money, even going so far as to pick a pocket here and there.
"You made a face. You're not allowed to do that," the kid explained, a pout appearing on his face.
"Eh?" Kiran exclaimed in false surprise. "Did we make a rule like that?" He tapped his chin in thought. "Nope. We never laid down that kind of ruling."
"But everyone knows you're not allowed to make a face." The kid's fists were balled tightly as he made his argument. "It's one of those... um... one of those..." He chewed on his lips and looked up to the sky, like the answer might be written in the clear blue expanse overhead.
"Unwritten rules?" Kiran supplied, biting his own lower lip to keep from grinning at the kid.
"Yeah! That's it!" The kid pointed at him as he shouted. "An unwribben rule!"
He chuckled in his head. But outwardly, Kiran sighed as he shrugged. "I guess I have to concede defeat then." He tried to look disappointed though he hardly felt it. "I'll just have to give you my last fish then." He took the remain, unsold fish from the crate and offered it over to the kid. The kid grinned widely, his eyes sparkling, as he accepted the fish. He turned to make his way out of the docks, but Kiran reached out and snagged the back of his shirt. "One thing before you go though," he whispered in a hushed tone in the kid's ear. "Next time, just ask." He ruffled the kid's hair. Despite his experience thieving from people, stealing food was where Kiran drew the line. He knew he should be angry with the kid for trying to steal the fish, even if it had been the one that no one wanted to buy off him. But the anger just didn't rise in him when he caught the kid trying to steal the fish out of the crate.
The kid nodded then toddled off somewhere. Kiran shook his head with a light smile. He picked up the crate. The moment he stood up, Kiran felt someone bump into him from behind, knocking him forward. The crate tilted, spilling melting ice onto the dock.

The way Mei was going down the hill she was bound to fall arse over head any second, but years of training allowed her body to somehow stay level. If she wasn't running for her life she would be quite graceful right now, swerving as if her body could sense the objects, the turns and twists of the road. Not that it wasn't needed though, she was still an idiot and the force of the hit sent her flying into a stumble heap anyway. So much for training.
"Uff!!...Ow....owwww! Tangled limbs (her own!) cold smelly water and what seemed to be a very comfy back had softened the inevitable fall to the floor. Not that it would have done much for the person who had taken the hit, there may or may not have been a crate to the chest in the process, ouch. Looking up she saw who she had fallen into, well, if the colourful spots would stop swimming in front of her eyes she would be able too, so instead she squinted, almost menacingly as she tried to see sense. A moment later a filthy hand came to aid her head, the throbbing spot where a lump was sure to follow made her wince, the pain making it far more easy to concentrate on her victim.
"Ohh...err..opps!" She stuttered, a grin replacing the frown on her face as she took her hand away and very slowly pushed herself up. Ouch, she was going to feel everything ten fold tomorrow. She peered up at the boy, his soft blue hair and minimum attire splashed here and there with water, the smell of fish wafting up her nose stinging her senses till she made a face. First impression were a failing point for A'Meiya, but she pulled it together to explain.
"Oh sir! I am so sorry! Y-You see...You see there was these mochi balls that I couldn't eat, even though I said I would because my Ma wouldn't let me go to the coast because Step-Pa can't leave town due to the people that are buying him, but he wasn't invited you see, and that just riled up all the villages and then they chased me...i think..." She panted slightly, all said in one breath and only a slight reddening to the face, not bad. She did look apologetic though, it was obvious that she hadn't wanted the hit to happen, but more often than not that was how most of her meetings came about. Another hand swept the dirt of her dress, her eyes catching sight of the little trails of water, the ice had started to melt in the heat. As quick as she could she bent down, grabbing every particle she could and putting them back into the crate. "I will save them for you, I will save them!"

Kiran landed on the docks with a thud and a rather loud "oomph" of a grunt. With his face planted on the wet, hard boards of the docks, he wondered if some kind of karma was trying to catch up to him. Not that he necessarily believed in karma, but this didn't seem to be his day. He had managed to sell most of his fish, but he had to give in to most buyers and sell at a much lower price than he liked. By the time he had mostly sold out, it didn't seem like giving away the fish to the boy that tried to steal it off him was much of loss. And now, he laid face down on the docks because someone had ran right into him. He knew he wasn't large, but the person should have been able to see him. Unless the person wasn't looking where he or she was going.
After managing to untangle himself and wiggle himself free from under the person, Kiran stood up, his clothes soaking in places. Water dampened some of his hair and dripped down his face. Well, it wasn't like he was practically fussy about that sort of thing. He rolled up part of his vest and twisted it, trying to squeeze out some of the water. As he did so, he took a moment to look at the one that knocked him down. She had pretty pink hair that matched well with her green ear-fins and a flower blossom pinned behind one ear-fin. From the fancy dress she wore, Kiran didn't think she often hung out at the docks. She looked somewhat out of place compared to the other Lunarians bustling about the docks.
Kiran held out a hand toward her to help her to her feet. He blinked a few times, trying to keep up with her quick speaking. Something about riled up villagers? Kiran leaned to one side, peering around her. But he didn't see an angry mob, so it seemed she was safe if they had been chasing her. He knew all too well about being chased by angry mobs. A laugh escaped him when he saw her picking up the ice. He knelt down before her and placed a hand over one of her hands. "You don't have to worry about the ice," he told her with an amused smile. "I was probably just going to dump out that ice when I got home anyway. It's all mostly melted now anyway."

The look of relief washed over her features as soon as the boil stopped her frantic grabbing, and she nodded briefly at his words before letting go of the cubes. It was always going to be futile effort, as soon as she picked up the pieces of ice her body heat melted them just as fast as the sun, all she had to show for her effort was stinging hands and a wet dress. Standing back up with the boy she chanced a look over her shoulder, the reassurance that she wasn’t being chased anymore was plain to see as a smile replaced her worry lines. It was like the whole event leading up to this moment had never happened as she grinned widely, her hands clasping together in front of her as she performed what could only be described as a one legged spin. “Ha! I knew It! I knew I would get away! I knew it! I don’t five mile runs morning noon and nights for no reason do I!” As if to demonstrate this fact she pointed out her leg, twisting it this way and that as if the boy had a great interest in her pins. Her smile was infectious though and like it or not she wasn’t leaving any time soon, that much was clear as she continued to flex and pose until she remembered the crate. Looking down at its remains, now leaking away to nothing she tapped her chin slowly as if trying to work something out, the answer hitting her quickly as she turned back to her audience, a hand pointing down to the box and the other towards him.
“Ahhh! I know what you do! You sell Ice!”She questioned, her head cocked to one side as if confused by it but wholly satisfied that it was a real profession. By the look in her eyes anyone could see her imagination ran wild and this was no exception, she waited for his answer as she softly bopped from side to side on the ball of each foot, her arms swinging back and forth as she waited, it was like watching an animated toy. Oh what had this boy gotten himself into?

Kiran tilted his head as he looked at the leg she was showing off to him. Then he jerked his head back up, hopefully, before she could catch him staring for too long. It was clear that her statement was no exaggeration though. From the quick glance, he could see that she had the legs of a runner. "It definitely paid off," Kiran agreed, grinning back at her. Then thinking she might mistake him to be referring only to her legs, he added, "It looks like you gave anyone who was chasing you the slip." He knew a lot about having to lose an angry mob. Being able to scale up walls pretty quickly certainly helped aid in his escapes.
Kiran nearly fell over in shock. She thought he sold ice? His mind boggled at such a suggestion. "No," he responded quickly with a frown. But just as quickly, a grin slapped itself across his face like he had never been surprised by what she thought he did. "I sell fish," he explained proudly. "I catch them myself and sell them fresh here." He stared at her, still grinning. He wondered if that might sound impressive. But some part of that doubted it when he smelled so greatly of fish. And he didn't make as great a profit as some of the other fish vendors. The fish that he could sell was limited to what he could catch while standing at the shore's edge. But one day, when he could afford it, he would build himself a boat to sail out on the open waters. Then he would be able to rake in bigger and better fish; thus, increasing his profits. But for now, he settled for what he could get.

If A’Meiya was embarrassed by her silly suggestion of an ice seller earlier she didn’t show it, merely nodding along to his explanation for his real trade almost going giddy for her chance to talk back.
“ EEii I love fish! And not just eating them, but swimming with them, playing with them, and pan frying them, that must be the best way am sure of it!” Her dirty clothes forgotten and the pounding lump on her head easing she matched him grin for grin as she listen, her hands coming together in a hearty clap as he mentioned he did the fishing himself.
“I adore to fish too! My Pa is a fisherman…was a fisherman, but he taught me everything about sailing and fishing when he was alive! We use to live on the southern coast you see and then we moved inland over 5 years ago, with my ma and Step-Pa that is. As you can tell am a little new to this area.” As if making her point absolutely clear she mimicked squishing together an invisible force between her hands acting out the ‘little’ part of her time here. “I have never been to these docks though!” ]she stated turning 360 as she looked about “ I can’t believe there are fishermen here too!”
If Kiran didn’t think A’Meiya was a bit dense already it may have been dawning on him now as the mere size of the city and also the fact it had docks were a sure sign that fishermen we in abundance here. But the girl seemed to be caught up in her own world were her old town born and bred the only fishermen needed for the entire country. It was quite sweet in a way, and slightly worrying in others.
“What else do you like to do, I like to - to…wait! WAIT!”her eyes went wide like saucers as she placed a hand on his bare arm with not a hint of concern for intruding personal space and looked up at him with sheer terror and shock. What had happened? Had the mob caught up? Was she having a funny turn? No. Much worse.
“I DON’T EVEN KNOW YOUR NAME!” She squealed as all ear drums in a 5 mile radius burst in pain. Her distress over this introductory faux pas was clearly showing.

Kiran laughed as the girl spoke excitedly. It was a complete turn around from his sister, who couldn't speak at all. But it did remind him of Xiuying when she signed excitedly about art supplies. Maybe that was a girl thing? Still, he couldn't help the smile as he listened to the girl ramble on about her love of fish.
"Was?" The question slipped out before he could stop it. It was one of those things that sometimes sticks out in a conversation. Followed up by "when he was alive" made Kiran cringe mentally at blurting out that single word. The girl didn't let on to any grief over her father's death, but Kiran didn't want to pry into the details of that. It didn't seem like a topic to discuss with some boy that she had just met. Unless she wanted to, but Kiran wouldn't push the subject.
"We have plenty of fishermen here," Kiran said with a sweeping gaze around the docks. Many of those fishermen were shouting out to get buyers' attentions, encouraging passersby to stop and check out the fish they had out to sell. The docks were always so lively, especially in the early day. "Maybe we could go fishing together sometime. I could show to some of my usual spots. Unless you want to go out on a boat." He sighed in a dramatically sad manner but not seriously. "I lack a boat of my own."
Kiran blinked in surprise, thrown off by her sudden shout. He hardly registered the invasion into his personal space, or the light tough on his bare arm, while those around stared at them. He thought he heard a murmur or two from some older women, but he couldn't make them out. He was too busy trying to figure out what caused her sudden outburst. Then he laughed. All that was merely over his name? "It's Kiran," he told her with a jovial smile.

The girl look like she was digesting the name as she chewed the side of her mouth, her eyes still wide and staring as she gave a quick nod of approval, (as if there could be anything bad about a name!) and gave a short bow in reply.
" I am A’Meiya of the Quan Empire!…not a real empire though! My Father business is often called it you see. Although it would be so amazing if it were true, ohh I would adore being an empress! Don’t you think! I could wear jewels and eat anything and everything I like and be carried about all over town!…but then…but then I wouldn’t be able to run!” In shock she again looked down at her legs just in case they had disappeared at the thought of being carried. Feeling relieved when she saw that her limbs were still safely attached to her body she returned face and pondered on the previous question resting on her tongue regardless that she had only just met this boy.
"Fishing? Together! Oh that would be wonderful, I have yet to find any good places to fish, they all seem to be taken when I go to look but we can always go your…!” Like a slap to the head his statement of ‘no boat’ came rushing back. "Oh! You don’t have a boat?....no boat?…. no bee, ooo, ahhh, teee….boat?…” Her face folded into another confused expression which happened to be the general look of Mei but this time there was defiantly something going on behind the eyes just, very slowly.
"No boat hmmm …..OH A BOAT!” She hit her forehead with the palm of her hand as it shook to what could only be the most obvious thing ever. "My Step-Pa has a boat! We can use that!...Well…sort of.” Now she had reason to be quite as her cheeks flushed red giving a quick glance or two left and right before walking up to him to cross, a further hand resting on his arm as she went on to her tip toes and shielded her mouth with the other hand from gossiping passerby’s. "We may have to borrow it just a little…like…in secret.” The first hint of this girls devilish nature came to a sudden light as she winked knowingly at the boy, or was it just stupidity? It was hard to tell.

"An empire? What kind of work does he do?" Kiran asked curiously as he bent over to pick up his crate. It remained intact after the fall, which was a good thing since he would need it for the next time he came to sell fish at the docks. "Some jewels would look good on you," he said, imagining her wearing necklaces or earrings. He laughed when she checked to make sure her legs hadn't disappeared. "Well, even if you were an empress, you could sneak out and run around all you liked, if you wanted to." He grinned widely at that idea. What if some of the royalty did sneak out to see what life was like among the common people? He didn't think he would ever want to switch places with anyone in the royal family.
"There are some nice spots in the marshlands, a nice little cove, that many people know about since it isn't the easiest place to get to," Kiran said, thinking about places that wouldn't be packed with other fishers. "But there are plenty of other spots that are much more accessible." He didn't many girls that would be interested in trekking through the marshlands.
"No boat," he agreed with a sigh. He would love to get out on the open sea and sail around, but his family didn't own a boat. And he couldn't afford to buy or even build a boat of his own. That was one of the reason he needed to save up his money. "Oh?" He grinned mischievously. "I don't think secretly borrowing the boat would be too difficult." He had never tried to sneak off with something as big as a boat, but it was a challenge he was more than willing to accept.

Mei flashed a devious smile as she contemplated what he said, finally someone with a little mischievous streak to match her own? It wasn’t like she played pranks or stole or made fun of people for a living or anything like that but her decisions always seemed (to other people) the bad choices in life. She had become so use to making them that well, you may as well enjoy what you’re doing if you’re going to do it wrong. Being a proper lady could wait until she had to meet Shin-Mu, her step-fathers answer to Mei’s ‘lacking personality’, for more high-status affairs. And the thought of going back out to the sea! Well that was just an amazing idea. Not since her father passed away had she been on a boat, her mother forbade it fearing pirates or worse. Losing one member of the family had been devastating losing another would crush her. A’Meiya was not allowed out there, period. It was probably even the reason why they didn’t visit the coast anymore but the student had never had the heart to ask. It was just an unwritten rule like so many others in this world.
“My Step-Pa is a business man dealing in the art of clothing…or something like that. Not very exciting but his hand stretches out to many corners of the islands. He gathers supplies and materials, expensive ones mind you, and hires designers and artists to create beautiful outfits that are worn by Lunarians of status, even royalty! But also he creates pieces for more common people too, you know poor people with no standard of life like market sellers and dock workers and fisher…men…and the…opps” The word blushing didn’t come close to describing the red that flowed in her cheeks as she realised what she just said, the sweat in her palms increased ten fold and the slow prickle of panic eloped her nerves. The words that flowed from her lips were at speeds unknown to mortal man.
“I mean! I mean that’s not what I mean at all! Those are his words, not mine, I just said them out loud, but I mean, I don’t say them inside my head either or underwater or anything! I mean, that is, I mean, whoa is it getting hot? It’s hot isn’t it, are you hot, I am hot…or…something….bah…” Her face crumpled into a frown as she lowered it in defeat. She really didn’t mean it the way it came out but the ball was in Kiran’s court to how he would react. All she could do was lay on those teary eyes of hers as she waited for the onslaught that was sure to follow, her foot making patterns in the ground beneath them as she sought to look anywhere than up.
“But it uhh….it means he hires sailors to bring the merchandise to the cities, we could borrow one of the smaller shipping boats, it only takes two or three of us to run it and he has a private ship yard further down from the dock. His doesn’t want his boats mingling with others you see, says their bad luck can flow upon the water if there has been a bad catch or a storm further out to coast…but uhh…that’s only if you want to now."

Trying to keep up with A'meiya's fast paced dialogue was a struggle. Kiran had to take a moment to review her words, several times. He bit his lip, holding back a laugh that threatened to bubble out if he wasn't careful. He glanced down at his clothes, picking at his vest. "You mean, my clothes aren't fashionable?" he joked with mock hurt in his voice. A false frown crossed his face, completing his teasing expression.
But he couldn't keep the laugh from escaping for very long. He chuckled as he shrugged a shoulder. "It's not big deal," he told her, seeing that she seemed to be distressed over what she said. "Fancy clothes are nice to look at, but they're not really practical while working. I'd just get them wet and stinking of fish." He paused to think about it a little more. "Or muddied or ripped or bloodied. I don't think fancy clothes would survive very long in my care." He laughed. "I think any sense of fashion probably skipped over me. My sister is the one more interested in things like pretty clothes."
Blue eyebrows lifted. "He has a private shipyard? Just how many ships does he own?" He laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment over his outburst. He had never known anyone who actually owned a private shipyard. Then he grinned at her. "I think we can get away with borrowing a ship." He was still interested in going out to sea on a ship. He didn't really know all that much about the mechanics of steering a ship. But it couldn't be that hard, he thought.

The relief was indescribable as the boy took the comment with a pinch of salt, his command sense speaking volumes to the student as she nodded furiously at his words as if agreeing with them 100% would mean she was forgiven. Her neck was hurting by the end of it.
“Your sister sounds like she would fit into my family more than I!” she exclaimed with a mummer, her voice had a more subtle hint now as if her previous words had left her hallow of the joy she radiated. That wouldn’t last long of course.
“I too do not see the joy in all fashion! Like this dress!” she grabbed a handful with a gloved hand and almost shoved into the boys face with disbelief, waving it under his nose with incensed movement.
“You can’t train in this! Believe me I have tried! I mean, where do you put your weapons!? In this bit!” With her other hand she pulled at her ribbon tied at her waist and tugged hard almost cutting herself in two. Her erratic warbling cut short with an audible gasp and then a loud ‘Urk’-ing sound left her quite once more. A sheepish grin replacing the shocked look she was wearing moments before.
“Sorry, sorry…I get distracted…a lot” Understatement of the year anyone? Pointing in the direction of her Step-Fathers docks, which at this vantage was impossible to see! Yet it did not stop her from gesturing to them with a few more well placed head nods here and there.
“Oh he doesn’t have that many!” As if the sudden though of having too many ships was a bad thing she waved both hands in defiance at the question. “He hires the sailors so really the boats don’t belong to him at all but to the work force. He just allows them to use his dock when they are working for him! But he has two on hand in case something happens or if there is need for a shipment to be sent out or collected. I am sure we can…use one of those. And its for fishing! What can go wrong with fishing?” As if any one needed to ask, Mei was what’s wrong with fishing. Her smile was back and with it she was performing little twists of her hips so her skirt swung out, happy with her explanation of her fathers business she held up a hand with three perfectly manicured fingers upright.
“What do you say we meet up in three days time? My Step-Father is away on business, my Ma will be looking after my step-brothers and if we get up early I don’t need to be in training till past noon! Ohhh and I will pack a picnic!...no wait…Two picnics!”

Kiran looked uncertain as he thought about that soft mummer. "Well, maybe," he said, his thoughts clouded with past memories.
He shook out of his thoughts when A'meiya waved her skirt in his face. "That doesn't look the most comfortable thing to train in," he agreed with a laugh, the clouds evaporating from his mind. He leaned left and right, looking her over, and he had to agree that it didn't look like there wasn't much of anywhere to conceal a weapon. "But if it's such an inconvenience for training, why do you wear something like that? Wouldn't it be better to dress in something easier to move in and with room to put weapons?" It seemed like a logical suggestion. But what did he really know about women and their choices in clothing? His sister preferred dresses, but she hated the idea of fighting.
Kiran followed where A'meiya pointed, but from where they stood, he couldn't see the shipyard her step-father owned. It was surely there, though. He nodded to her explanation. Well, that did make a certain sense. He had just assumed that her step-father owned all the ships that docked at his shipyard. A laugh escaped him as he turned back to A'meiya. There wasn't a whole lot that could go wrong with fishing. On land. But on a boat? Well, as long as A'meiya knew how to man the ship, Kiran believed they wouldn't have any troubles.
"Three days then," Kiran agreed, grinning at her. "Where and when would you like to meet?"
