Glozelle: Not too long after his brother had found him wandering the desert, Caspian's cubs had been born and his life had gone from bad to bad and rather annoying. Most of his nieces and nephews left him alone, but a couple of them seemed intent on making him a real part of the family. And, honestly, he would rather just be left alone. For the one reason that since his back was healing it was sore and stiff, and cubs climbing all over him was more than just a little uncomfortable. And secondly, he had no intention of staying in the pride, he didn't want to get them attached to him and he just leave when he was back to normal.
He walked away from the den he had been staying in while Caspian's friend tended to his wounds. He had since stopped wearing his helm, but he kept the pelt on so that no one else saw the healing wounds on his back, especially not the cubs. He had his usual walks, never went too far. It helped to work the muscles in his shoulders, but he was smart enough not to go far enough away that he got lost. And the desert could do that pretty easily.
Ebio'Femi: Her soft green eyes scanned the area as she just escorted the cubs she was looking after in to their classes. Soon they would be old enough to leave her, they were already pretty well grown up. Soon she would be left with nothing to do but roam the pride and help the teachers. That would be one task, not just a hand full of cubs but a lot of them in one place. Oh brother, she didn't know how they did it sometimes. Most were well behaved but when you got those loud ones. Things got out of hand pretty quickly. As she watched them head inside, she turned and looked out. Feeling the soft airs of the desert. Before making her way down the temple's steps. Looking as if she were grazing.. walking around aimlessly to watch her pride's people. How they talked and were so familiar. Family was such a priority in this pride that she almost felt out of place.
Hers was broken, but she found at adol to accept how broken it was- it was still a family. Her original family.. Ebio's paws started to become warmer as she got up the hill of endless sand. Standing there just feeling the breeze and staring blankly out.. Not even realizing she was up so high.. Taking another step- with empty air under it, caused her to tumble and fall! A scream echoed out of her~ wrapping herself in a cloud of sand as she came tumbling down and slammed against what FELT like a rock. "gawh!" She panned out coughing up a storm. Inhaling excess sand with a nasty backlash.
Glozelle: Hearing a scream, Gloz went from walk to run in less than a heartbeat, the stiffness in his muscles forgotten as he ran to the aid of whomever had made the sound. He was no hero, but his training had been to protect those in his pride. Over time it just became a second-instinct to protect.
He was up to the top of the dune and his gold eyes fell on a familiar form. Ebio looked like she had fallen down the dune and there was no danger in sight. With a sigh, he carefully made is way down, his muscles sore from the run. "Are you alright?" he asked lowly once he was able to stop near her.
Ebio'Femi: Absent minded. She reminded herself, as she shook the sand out of her hair. Lifting her chin up to the sound of a male's voice. The smell was familiar but the sun made it almost hard to look him in the eye. Lifting a paw well over her face for a brief moment to confirm the scent, the rubbed at the side of her head a bit. "Fine~ I'm sorry." It slipped out so easily.
"I wasn't looking- and-" She tried to explain but stumbled on her words before swaying a little to get up before going on her side in a lay for a moment. The world was all sorts of spinny- she hadn't fell like that in so long, she had forgotten what it felt like.. and made a soft hearted laugh erupt from her, a joyous one..
Glozelle: Gloz frowned down at her. "I don't think you are," he replied, sitting down to watch her lie in the sand and laugh. She looked like she had hit her head, the way she was carrying on. He wondered if she should go see one of the healers of the pride, head injuries were pretty dangerous. Then again, if she had hit her head, she would probably be in pain, not giddy. Females were so strange. Except female warriors, he could understand them.
He shook his head. "You look like you've lost your mind."
Ebio'Femi: She couldn't stop laughing til it was fully out. A bright smile plastered on her face til she rubbed at her head more. Shaking it slightly as she looked up finally. "Oh?" Giving another brief laugh. "I think Mr Gloz. I think I may have." Moving so she was looking up at him in a much more comfortable lay so the sun was to the top of her head. "Do you know what you want from your life? Like if you should be here- in this place.. this instant? I can't decide." Shaking her head before her eyes went to rest on him.
Lifting her upper body up and letter her ears rest against her head. "Anyways- don't mind me.. How are you feeling?"
Glozelle: Gloz... actually looked taken aback by her question. It had been random and far too personal than he had a liking for. There were plenty of things that he wanted in life, none that he was capable of having, this he knew, but he wasn't about to tell her that! The rest of her question was a rather silly one, really. Should he be where he was? No, not really. Gloz and Caspian both were a danger to this pride. Gloz they might consider dead, but Caspian... They knew he was still alive, some even knew where he was. Miraz, if he was even still alive, would certainly want his princely nephew's head.
He shook his thoughts away as he regained his neutral appearance and shrugged as she questioned his state. His back was stiff and paining him from the run, but he didn't think he wanted to tell her that. "I'm fine," was all he said in reply.
Ebio'Femi: Ears fanning now all sorts of sides to examine his facial features before deeming herself struck with stupidity and lifted her body to her natural height. "I bet you are." She huffed and gave him a smile. "You don't have to think so hard.. It was a stupid question." Hadn't been smiling nor laughed that much since she got her first cubbins to look after. "You are very good at lying.. I must say. Or am I thinking to hard this time." Shaking her head, giving up on herself.
"What's it like on the outside... unless you wanna leave me to waste away in my own thoughts without company..or I can drag you back to your healer." A look like 'oh yea- your really gunna leave me? You have nuttin better to do right?' Sorta look.
Glozelle: It had been a stupid question and to most others, Gloz would have probably pointed it out, but this time he didn't feel like it. She acknowledged it and he didn't need to rub it in. After all, it wasn't like she was some recruit that was training under him, one who had made a mistake that in any other time would have cost him his life or the life of an ally. No, she was just a silly female.
And so what if she had seen through his lie? He neither had to confirm nor deny it. Let her think what she wished. Though, it was a little interesting, to know that she had been able to do so and had the gumption to call him out on it. Another might have simply agreed with him whether they believe him or not. Too stubborn and too straight-forward.
"On the outside? Of this pride?" Gloz asked, wondering just what she was getting at. He did, however, snort at her last comment. Like she could drag him anywhere. He was firstly a good bit larger than she was and secondly he was a trained warrior and a darn good one. No one could physically force him to do anything.
Ebio'Femi: The snort he made, made her lift herself up on her butt and lean closer to him. A look of accepting that tiny chuckle/snork as something good. The first light thing to get out of him. Finally. "Yea.. out there. Beyond the pride." Pushing his shoulder a little bit with hers before laying down again to look at her pride. Full of honor but lost in the confines of her own mind. A future. She didn't have none as of yet.
Glozelle: Gloz made a face when she nudged him, but remained still, like a big, furry rock, really. He shrugged, though, when she clarified her question. "All I know is desert and my own pride. And you do not wish to hear of my pride," he explained. Honestly, he did not want to tell her about his pride. He and Caspian both had come from it and neither lion really exemplified the pride. Gloz had a sense of honor (When he wasn't emotionally fooled) and Caspian had grown into a lion their father probably would have been proud of, if what Gloz now knew of the king he had slain was true. They weren't the heartless backstabbers most of the pride's leaders were, killing their opponents for the power they wanted. Gloz had seen that in the mistake he had made in his youth.
No, she didn't want to hear about his pride. "The desert is wide and empty. In traveling I learned how it was that some lions go mad trying to cross it."

Ebio'Femi: "My father said once.. that far beyond the sands.. there is a place of damp and cool winds. He spoke of it fondly.. but now to hear that there are only sands out there. There has to be more out there..." She looked away in to the distance before looking at him. "I also met a lioness that speaks of waterfalls and a body of water so big that it covers beyond what the eye can see.. There are worlds out there that..we just don't know of. How do I know I'm destined to be here?" She laughed a little. "I must sound crazy. Though, with standing with someone strong-" Looking up to his face with a softness. Then an impish smirk crossed her face. Stopping short of her sentence before snickering.
"Wait- I forgot... I got a stubborn one next to me. I don't know about the strong part~" A slight tease to their prior meeting. Lifting herself up and standing in front of him.. He could probably have said the same thing about her. "Do you remember the last time you rolled in the sand? Or hear the winds? Or...Danced?" Her face brightened. Remembering dance from a cubhood friend of hers. That soft smile almost waiting in anticipation.. what he would say and what she wanted to ask him. Try lift him of sorts when really, she too needed some lifting and the only way was to see others happy. That cost her more than just happiness that was for sure.
Glozelle: Her father was probably right. Gloz had no delusions that there was nothing beyond the desert, it was simply all he had known. How could he imagine something he had never seen with his own eyes? "I'm sure there are, but you ask me what it was like outside of this pride and the desert is all I know." He neglected to say anything about his pride. He hadn't called it home, either, for it wasn't. He knew what home was supposed to be and there was no such place. His pride, this place, they were all just living spaces. Home was something he didn't have.
"There's no such thing as destiny. Your own decisions make for your future. If you want to be somewhere, that is where you are meant to be," he explained, looking away from her as he did so. Destiny was something others used to blame their mistakes on something besides themselves. Free will and choice put a creature where they were and if they had neither by will of gods or stronger creatures, then that was simply unfortunate for them. His ears flicked back in annoyance when she questioned his strength. He didn't climb in the ranks of his pride, survive numerous battles and an assassination, cross a desert wounded and without food and water to have his might questioned by a female. A female who, he was almost certain of, had never strayed far from home in her life. But he said nothing, letting her tease roll off of him as if it was too base and unfounded for him to even acknowledge.
"I've rolled in the sand, it can be an effective dodge in a fight. Listening to the wind and dancing, those things are trivial."
Ebio'Femi: "Yea, I guess your right.. But I love my home, my family.. and the friends I have here." Preening at him. "Especially a grumpy one." Huffing as if to mimic the 'oh yea' sorta look that he looked like he had all the time. "Dancing!? It's showing the Gods that we are active in serving them and bring pleasure to their eyes! If I didn't love cubs and taking care of them I would have went in to dance!" Taking a jump towards him and rubbing her head on his chest/mane.
Huffing at him again before she lifted her head. Standing on her hind legs as her eyes slitted. Her paws extended out towards him and pawed lightly at him. "These things are wonderful.. and so special.. and it's a shame not to know them!" Then turning and not jumping persay but with a lighteness in her step went around him in a small bouncing steps of dance. Then went against his side. "One of these days I'd love to show you~ the cubs love it~! I'm sure you would if you tried~" Chiming it as if to look more appealing.
Glozelle: "I acknowledge the existence of the gods, but have no inclination to serve them," Gloz replied, raising a paw to nudge her away when she rubbed her head against him, surprisingly gentle in the light push. For all of his training and the fights he had been in, he had not intention of hurting her, or anyone else here for that matter. And that meant light nudges instead of pushing or even swatting her away. Or leaning his head back so that her paws couldn't reach him.
"I see no shame in it. Dancing is a waste of time," he added, watching her carefully. Oh, he knew that some types of fighting could be considered a dance, he had seen the swift, liquid movements before. But he was not built for that. He was built for power, not grace, for quick charges and strong attacks, not for fluid dodges and feints. She was wasting his time with this nonsense. Except... he didn't have anywhere to be. The thought struck him hard in a place he'd managed to wall off. He didn't have anywhere to be, didn't have a purpose anymore. Outwardly nothing changed but for a light stiffening in his muscles.
"It is a waste of time." The statement was repeated with even less emotion than the first time as he leaned his body away from her, his gaze focused somewhere else.
Ebio'Femi: "We all have our different views of the world..I wish to see your views one day. As we are so different, maybe then I can stop this wonderlust and doubt. I must serve them as dance at least for the gift of meeting everyone I know now.. and you." Her voice carried as she looked away. Even a gruff, it was someone she never knew before as she shrugged it off as just being thankful for friends. Yes, that's what they were. Friends. Nothing more, or could she even call him a friend. "I hope you feel better.." The sun has casted over head of them and slowly the world around them started to dim. Looking at her world she knew so well. Smiling at it. "Keep at your treatments and you better do better soon." Looking at him. Ears panned back as she made a silly grin before slowly rising to go on her way.
"One day- you'll dance with me!" She called out behind her, laughing as she made it seem like a joke. She knew such a big male probably wouldn't anyways.
Glozelle: He wondered if she knew what her words said, what they really meant. Did she realize that as soon as he was healed he would be gone, leaving this pride? He couldn't stay here, he was a dangerous thing to keep around. One more reason for his uncle to invade this pride. Miraz knew who Gloz's father was, Sopesian probably knew as well. He was the b*****d son, but he was still a successor to the Caspian line. And though his claim was not as strong as his brother's, it was stronger than Miraz's, even stronger than Sopesian's. How pleased they would be to wipe out bot sons in one campaign.
No, he wouldn't bring that onto this pride. He would leave.
Gloz looked up as Ebio started walking away, calling that absurd idea back over her shoulder. There was little way that he would be caught dancing at all, so dancing with her was almost out of the question. He just allowed his mouth to quirk up ever so slightly at one side as he shook his head.
