So, I recently struck up a friendship with another witch- one who follows a different path (I don't know exactly which, or if he was eclectic or what) than I do. While I'm very eclectic and have morals and values that are exclusively my own and many of my witch/pagan friends don't agree with, I was shocked to find out some of the things that this particular individual was comfortable with.
He asked me to help him with a couple things... one was perfectly innocent, as far as I could tell- he just wanted help organising his BoS. The other was a ritual he had gotten from one of his friends that involved taking energy from others without their knowledge.
I was really unsure what to do. Though my own beliefs thought that was sickening, I didn't want to tell him what to believe. However, I also didn't want to participate. He, however, pressed me to, taking a full hour to try and convince me before telling me to think on it.
I know I'm not going to do this... but what I'm really curious about is, have you ever been pressured to work magic you weren't comfortable with? Or anything else pagan-related? What's your story?

Though I've never personally been pressured, it's like every other single situation in life. There are always going to be people in every walk of life trying to get others to think or do things they don't want to.

I will not get into details about it but yes, I have been pressured before and I am no longer friends with those people. It happens with everything and if you don't agree with doing it then don't. For myself, it is about doing what I feel is right as long as no one else is hurt in the process.

To start off, I'd just like to clarify that "magic" and paganism are not the same thing. Just because one is a witch or works magic does not mean they are pagan, likewise, just because someone is pagan does not mean that they are a witch or work magic. Your post seems to imply that they are interchangeable when they are not.
Now, on to the peer-pressure...
All groups have their fair share of peer pressure. The magical community is no different. In elementary school when they lecture you on peer pressure they give you a list of strategies to avoid and/or combat peer pressure. Those same strategies would still apply here not just in school. I'm not going to go through and list them all here because that would just take to long and turn this post into an info-dump, so here are a couple of links: [link1], [link2]
Now, you've already said that you're not going to do this with him, so you don't really seem to need the advice, but there it is all the same. Not just for you but anyone else in the thread that might need it.

People haven't really tried to pressure me into anything- I think they pretty much know that kind of peer pressure would just make me angry and annoyed. sweatdrop
I've talked to people who do things I consider unethical tough- most of the time they just blow me off.

I know they aren't. I just wanted a catchy name. :p
