Alone... All alone... Mommy and Daddy never came back.
They said to wait for them until they returned with that surprise for me. They were so happy to finally have a child. They kept telling me I was such a wonderful gift. Daddy said he made a surprise for me... Mommy and I were so excited!
I'm waiting. I'm waiting, Mommy and Daddy, just where you said to like a good girl! But it grew dark and you didn't come back. I'm still waiting, after all these days I'm still waiting. Nice people have come by, leaving gifts of dew and acorns in my sleep, while you have been away.
