Allow me to show you my thoughts.... I've never heard of anyone that says video game music is crap.
.... and that was the cerebral perception
I've heard people consider video game as not real music. Well if it's not real music what are those music notes hitting one's ears? XD
I think 8 melodies from Earthbound, it's a very touching song, the chorus is so sad and gives me nostalgic visions of my past.
Final Fantasy music, then there's some music in Parasite Eve.
A bunch of songs from famous Nintendo games like Zelda. I especially like that theme that plays in ghost town... dunno the name... it's where you kill 99 monsters.. or something I dunno.
and then STar Wolf's theme from Starfox.
I think these songs are every bit of a masterpiece as composers from centuries ago. They too have put a lot of hard work into songs.
