The shade of the forest was cold, much colder then it should have been on a late spring day such as this. It was unsettling, though the large stallion wasn't letting it show through.
He was out hunting with the newest member of his small heard, Tzi. The third member of their group was back at the lake. Likely moping. She hadn't taken a liking to Tzi. Not even the smallest bit. It barely mattered to Anzu though. She'd grow accustomed to it.
He hadn't caught sight of any promising prey yet. Only a few smaller animals. Not worth their time. They had, however, located the tracks of a small bear. They seemed to be fresh. With any luck they'd lead to a meal.

Tzi felt the air, it was different, but she ignored it, for the matter at hand. There was a bear to catch, she flapped her wings, circling around the area, and spotting something, she zoomed down toward the forest. Nope, not a bear... It was a rabbit. As much as it would feed her, it wouldn't feed Anzu. He required a lot of food. She fly back up to the sky...
"Anzu... Something doesn't feel quite right, the air... " She looked over to the large stallion.

Anzu looked up at her, then back toward the deepest part of the forest.
"Perhaps..." beside the strange chill there had been something else bothering him. His companion was flying about, sure, but they hadn't been any more intrsusive beyond simply being there. "Tziporah," his deep voice was nearly a whisper, "I do miss the sound of the song birds today. Do you suppose my Branwen is frighting them?"
The crow was fast asleep on his back.

"Have you noticed, there's little game as well? It's never been like this before..." She looked over at the last question... Oh how she didn't like that bird. "Doubtful. He's never bothered them before. I feel like there's something else in the forest... Larger then our food." She looked down... Normally birds and the smaller game would still be about. But it looked like it was abandoned.
"I think we're being watched."
