xxxxxTalia gazed at her phone one more time before letting out an annoyed sigh, blowing her bangs out of her eyes. The numbers 3:54 seemed to glare back at her menacingly. It wasn't like Skye to be late. Especially when it involved shopping. Pretty soon Talia was going to be accused of loitering, or at least she'd get some super judgmental stares wondering why the black haired girl had been sitting at a fountain all alone for almost 20 minutes now.
xxxxxSighing, Talia stood up and walked over to the Starbucks. She ordered a drink, gave her money to the cashier and then thanked him politely. If she was going to wait, she might as well get something that soothed her quelled anger. "Where is that girl?" she muttered angrily to herself. Really, 20 minutes wasn't that long, but to Talia it felt like ages. She could try calling Skye, but wouldn't that seem a bit ... desperate?
xxxxxShe took a moment before sitting down to look around. It wasn't exactly a fabulous shopping center. It was a sunday, so there were a lot of little hipster eighth graders running around the mall thinking they were really cool because they could shop all by themselves. Talia really didn't like kids. She sat down resuming her lonely watch for Skye, and tapped her foot.
xxxxxTalia wasn't about to start shopping without Skye though. When it came to fashion, Talia and Skye were absolutely potentates in their trade. Plus who would gawk at boys with her?
xxxxxTapping her foot, she checked her phone again. 3:58. Seriously, where was she?!

Skye wasn't generally this late in fact normally she would be on time but well she just couldn't decide what shoes to wear today and before she knew it... well you know what times like when you are having fun! She also wasn't a girl to rush and so she made her way to the mall in her own time. Getting slightly distracted on the way texting Jack about going rounds hers that night. She couldn't resist some Jack time.
As she reached the mall she found Talia easily enough. She looked slightly annoyed so Skye did at least apologise for being late.
"Sorry I had a shoe dilemma... then Jack text me so had to text him back. You know how it is..." She tried to make it sound as if she did care about being late but this was Skye and well when did she ever care about being late?
"Anyway shopping yes?" She smiled looking rather hopeful, she wasn't in the mood to have an argument or anything like that so she was hoping that Talia would be able to just accept she was late and move on? Then again Skye was never one for a confrontation, she would happily annoy the world but if it meant an argument she would just brush you off, such was the life of Skye.

xxxxxFINALLY that girl decided to show up. Talia looked at her with disapproval. Picking out shoes was a valid excuse, but somehow Talia doubted that was really the reason she was late. Then again, Talia was a bit hypocritical. She had certainly been late to things due to wardrobe malfunctions.
xxxxxAll was instantly forgiven when Skye mentioned someone named Jack. Who was Jack? Talia's mind instantly fluttered off to some dark mysterious romance between Skye and this Jack person. "Jack? Who is Jaaack?" she said playfully as they began to walk towards a Forever 18. It simply had to be one of Talia's favorite stores.
xxxxxTalia sipped her coffee and shifted her faithful blue backpack higher onto her shoulders. "We're going to Forever 18 first, right? Or was there somewhere else you wanted to go? I mean we're definitely gonna cover the whole mall by the time we're done, but I dunno if there was anywhere you wanted to go." She was babbling again, so she looked at her phone. 4:00. Not ideally where she wanted to start, but it wasn't the worst time ever either.
xxxxxA cute boy with brown hair passed by and winked at Talia. Of course, she didn't think Skye noticed, but she said, "Oh my god did you SEE that boy?!" If she was with anyone else, she wouldn't have been nearly as flustered, but since it was Skye, it was probably okay.

Skye smiled as Talia started talking, she loved how much she rambled and it always amused her.
"Of course! I am late so you get first pick of shops!" Wasn't that how it should always be? Oh it was so nice talking to someone who was completely on her wave length! She was however quite happy that Talia's ramblings meant that Jack was as quickly dropped as brought up, the boy winking at her was also another thing to keep Jack out of conversation. Skye has completely forgotten that she hadn't told Talia about Jack and well lets face it Talia was too young to know about that relationship.
"I did, he clearly likes you!" She chuckled as she spoke and looked back at the guy, he turned and she blew him a kiss. The poor guy turned and walked away quickly. Oh the fun they would have together!
"Now lets go get some clothes to knock all those guys dead!" With a large smile on her face she happily walked into Talia's favourite store. So many clothes, oh how she just adored shopping!

xxxxxTalia walked excitedly towards the Forever 18, adjusting her backpack on the way. She absolutely adored this store. It was where she got half of her wardrobe really. In fact, at the moment she was wearing their jeans, and a bracelet from their miniature jewelry section. "Then let's go!" She said, giddily grabbing her friend's arm.
xxxxxUnfortunately, Talia did notice Skye dropping the subject of Skye, but felt like it was more private. She didn't persist it further, but the moment Skye mentioned him again, Talia would pounce like a tiger on a mouse.
xxxxxAs the random stranger walked away from Skye's air kiss, Talia giggled and said, "Oh Skye, you're going to scare all my future husbands away!" She meant it playfully of course. There was no way Talia was going to date a random stranger, even if he was cute. She needed her prince charming!
xxxxx Arriving at the store she went immediately for the dress section. Dresses with the epitome of femaleness, right? Picking out a funny pink one she said, "Ohmigosh, would you still be friends with me if I wore something like this in public?" She giggled horribly. It was rude to make fun of a dress in the store it was from, but who cared. What were they gonna do, sue her?

Skye smiled, she couldn't help but smile when around Talia, the girl was infectious! They went into the store though and Skye just laughed about stealing future husbands.
"You have a long time to wait before you need to think about husbands Talia! How many do you want anyway?" She laughed. Skye had never thought much about marriage, she was always expected to marry an upper class kind of guy and maybe Chris would have been accepted by her parents but Jack wouldn't be. Jack wasn't even her boyfriend anyway, friends with benefits as it were.
"Ewww I would have a horrible emotional time if you wore that dress. I would feel bad loosing a friend like you but I wouldn't want to be anywhere near you in it!" She laughed and went to look for another dress, either one that looked good or another one they could slate big time.

xxxxxTalia gasped dramatically at Skye's insertion. "One must always be thinking about husbands!" She held out her hand as if to show off an invisible wedding ring. She pondered for a moment the question about the number of husbands. "Of course only one, but he would have to be my prince!" She daydreamed for a quick moment imagining someone sweeping her off her feet.
xxxxxNevermind that though. Talia was still curious as to who this Jack fellow was. Cunningly, she asked, "So Skye. Who do you have your pretty eyes set on? She nudged the girl playfully. Truthfully, Talia didn't love gossiping. Something about it was so mean and hurtful. Now romance talk, that was different. That was just fun!
xxxxxGiggling again at Skye's clever comments, she faked emotional unbalance. "Oh Skye, that's so mean! I would still be friends with you, even if you dressed funny," she jabbed. Taking a second look at the ugly pink dress, she admitted, "Err ... well maybe not."
xxxxxTalia leafed through the dresses and picked out a more ... suitable one. "How about this? Good?"

Skye wasn't so sure about all this husband business, she wasn't really wife material in the slightest and so the thoughts had never really crossed her mind before. She could of course accept that others would get married but she was young and way too free-spirited to bother with thoughts of marriage.
"Not really, you know me." She responded to Talia's question avoiding talking about Jack. "Relationships just aren't for me at the moment." At least she was being truthful, after all she wasn't in a relationship with Jack. She hadn't been in one since being with Chris and well that had ended so well. The friends with benefits thing was going perfectly well for her and Jack!
"That's a nice one!" Skye smiled looking at the dress. She could see her friend wearing that one.

Talia pouted a bit with Skye's newest response. She didn't have her eyes on anyone? The thought was absolutely mind blowing. It seemed like Talia was gaining a new crush every day. Heck, she would crush on a stump if it had cute hair.
At the moment, she had said. What was that supposed to mean? Prying a bit further than she was supposed to, Talia asked, "At the moment? Did something happen?" Talia couldn't really remember any weeping painful moment with Skye over some boy, but then, they weren't really that type of friends. At least, not yet maybe. Switching roles, Talia couldn't really imagine crying on Skye's shoulder either.
Shrugging, Talia went back to looking at the dresses. She nodded her approval at the purple dress, and then slung it over her arm gingerly. "Well now we have to go find a beautiful matching necklace," she began, paused and then realized she forgot she was shopping with someone. "Errr, unless you have anything else you want to look at over here?"

Skye just looked at Talia and laughed, she wasn't going to explain everything about Chris and Jack and oh how she adored Jack... instead she just gave Talia a really rubbish excuse.
"Why have a relationship when you could have as many guys as you want?" She smirked, it was no hidden secret that Skye slept around a bit though the around had turned to exclusively be Jack. She kept up her appearance though it got her the attention from the boys.
"No there is nothing here for me." Skye gave the dresses another sweeping look before looking back at Talia. "Lets go find you some accessories! Then it will be on to shoes!" Skye loved shoes. She had a whole cupboard at her apartment purely for shoes. No one could ever have enough shoes.

Talia gasped at the mention of having a relationship with more than one man. She was rather ... ignorant about sexual affairs. Everything was still princes and princesses to her. Not to mention she had no clue about Skye's personal affairs. Talia castigated Skye, saying, "But having that many boys is just ... sad. I want a prince! Definitely." She was so confident in her life goal, nothing would deter her from it.
She grimaced a bit at Skye's lack of involvement in the dresses, but it was short-lived. "Oh there are lots of dresses that suit you! Your pretty red hair makes everything pop." It was true too. Redheads could wear a lot of colors without overstepping their bounds a lot of the time. Regardless, Talia pranced over to the necklaces. Most of them were pretty ugly; all chunky and square and ... Well Talia was a bit of an old fashioned girl when it came to fashion. She didn't like a lot of pizzazz. "See anything you like here then?"
Shoes, eh? Talia wasn't much of a shoemonger to be honest, at least not in her opinion. To any average person, she had way too many shoes for efficiency, but in Talia's eyes she just had the normal amount of shoes that anyone had. "What about this one?" She held up a anchor shaped necklace for Skye to see. It was summer time after all. Summer, anchors, they were related, right?

Skye couldn't deny the fact that having that one guy who adored you would be amazing but in all honesty she wasn't sure she believed in it happening and so she just smiled at Talia not wanting to ruin her dreams with her own beliefs.
"Thanks! Nothing takes my fancy in here though, maybe the next shop!" She tried to sound enthusiastic but Talia's dreams of a prince was playing on her mind a little. She shook her head a little and turned to see what necklace Talia had picked out.
"Oooo I like! Put it on!" Skye wanted to see how it looked like on, she had found that sometimes just because a necklace looks nice doesn't mean it will on and oh the trouble she had with that sometimes!

Talia was absolutely astonished that Skye couldn't find anything that suited her. It seemed as though her mind was a little ... preoccupied? Talia wasn't about to pry... At least not yet. It was pretty much inevitable that she would pry later; it was just in her nature. For now though, she would let Skye keep her little secrets.
Brushing her curiosity away, Talia slipped the necklace over her head and placed it delicately on her chest. It went surprisingly well with the casual outfit she had decided to wear today (this was casual for Talia, not the world okay).
With a flick of her wrist she said, "Oh it's perfect, isn't it!" Not even waiting for Skye to respond, she tossed the necklace back over her head and into her right palm.
She couldn't have all the fun though! Talia squeaked, "Well if here's not good, let's go somewhere else yeah?" She started walking towards the cashier even as she spoke.

Skye just smiled and nodded finding that her enthusiasm for shopping had seemed to have vanished. She looked slightly annoyed for a while though she wasn't sure if Talia would have noticed as she soon wiped the look off her face. What was wrong with her? Why couldn't they just have fun and enjoy the shopping and the money they could spend.
After giving herself a mini pep-talk she walked straight over to Talia and smiled.
"If we go to the shop over there we can look at the swim wear and stuff. I need to get a new bikini anyway." It also happened the shop was a lingerie shop that Skye got some sexy new undies in quite often.

Maybe this wasn't known to Skye, but Talia was an excellent observer when it came to facial expressions. She had a talent for reading people, really. Now the million dollar question was finding out what was annoying her. Was Skye annoyed with her? Did the anchor necklace offend her or something?
At Skye's suggestion, she said, "Sure! I'll have to get a new swimsuit for camp too I suppose." Playing it cool was always a good way to go, but curiosity overwhelmed her. She tactlessly added on, "Are you okay?"
Talia looked over at the shop Skye had pointed out. A lingerie shop? Talia had gone shopping there a few times, but she never really found a lot of their stuff to be ... tasteful. They did have cute swimsuits though, so what the hey.
