Private RP between Caffeinecraving's Cian Alastair and She-Ra of Etheria's Yanamari
He was getting old... He had done nothing... He had watched from a far and had seen his sister was already a mother... to some fine children he may add. Huffing slightly he glanced down at the small puddle at his feet. Was he ugly.... No. Just less beautiful then the other stallions? No... Then why... why had he done nothing with his life....Was he... no... he would never admit that every time he thought about what he wanted, what he needed, he would shiver.
He was talented and smart. Stomping his foot in the puddle he continued walking. He hadn't seen his family since he was a small foal. And he refused to go back. He picked up his feet, one at a time, moving forward. He just had to keep walking. Keep putting more distance between him and his family. He needed to leave them behind... They were too different from him... he needed to be free... With that he broke into a run. He hadn't realized he was gaining speed.
Throwing out his hooves angrily he reared and came back to earth hard. "Calm down Cian... you will be fine... " He picked up his foot to count... relieve stress. What was he running from anyway. He glanced around to see if anyone had witnessed his momentary act of craziness.

It was open here, almost too open for Yanamari's liking. Normally she stuck closer to the trees and well shaded areas where she could hide and attempt to disguise her unfortunate Kalona traits. However every now and then she would be forced to go into open space, some where large, others were small. This area was quite large and her nerves were on edge. Really she just needed to remain calm. Getting worked up would only cause things to turn bad quickly. She couldn't let that happen, refused to let that vile blood take control over herself. It wasn't who she truly was.
Seeing a flash of color up ahead Yanamari focused on the purple Soquili as it raced across the open land and then came to a stop rearing. Odd. Her ears were pricked forward and hooves fidgeted with nerves. Part of her wanted to go over there and talk with them. She spend some much of her time along that anytime she saw another there was a need to social, to feel like she belonged. And yet, another part of her told her not to go. Chances are this other Soquili would see her Kalona traits and end up running away or worse try to vanquish the evil that that breed stood for. It was one of those situations that made her hesitate. But, she couldn't live out her entire life hiding away could she? No, certainly not. For that was no life at all. Her mother had always taught her to be proud even if her wings and tail were a downside to life.
And so Yanamari moved forward, slowly, towards the purple and white stallion. Perhaps he would be willing to talk to her, to overlook her Kalona blood and see her for what she truly was. If not, well it would just be another disappointment in life. Breath, just breath.

It wasn't hard to miss the female staring at him. She had scales and they shown in the sunlight. Not that the sun was gracing them with large patches. He glanced at the grayish clouds moving slowly across the patches of blue.
He turned to glance back at the mare that was now... hesitantly, moving toward him. He say her wings. His sister had wings... but these were different. Theses didn't have as many feathers... He knew that there were different species but he didn't know what they were like... He had heard of the nasty Kalona and skinwalkers of his bedtime stories.
He decided to meet her halfway. trotting carefully toward the mare he tossed his head stopping a few feet from her. "Hello?"

There was a moment of fear running through her heart when the stallion turned and trotted towards her. Would he look upon her as an enemy and wish to chase her off? Gods she hoped not. But then, he came to a stop a short distance away and merely greeted her with a hello. Well things were finally looking up for once. Perhaps he would be one of the few who would overlook her wings and tail. The mere thought of her wings made her pull them even closer to her body. Some days she wished she could just hide them completely, or rip them off, though that would likely be a horribly painful experience. So she just did her best to keep them close to her body.
"Oh...uh..hello." For craving to socialize Yanamari was always at a loss for how to actually start up a conversation. But once it got rolling she usually relaxed and was able to talk freely about most things. Her eyes swept over the stallion for a moment. His purple hide was splashed with patches of while, almost like clouds in the sky. His green eyes stood out the most to her amongst his purple and white coloring. Not really sure on what to say she asked the question that danced around her mind. "Why were you running?" If he was running from her - well no that wouldn't make any sense why would he run away from her and then a moment later come towards her. And she hadn't seen any predators around either. So just why did he run like that earlier.

"I was being chased."
It was a simple statement with a complex explanation behind it. He predicted what her next question should be and answered before he heard it even asked. "It seems i am so fast that i outran them.... for now."
Glancing over at her again he realized he must have had a far away look on his face as he watched the road. "So... Why are you here?" He was moving. Just passing through. Oh no... was this her land... Maybe she was a nasty Kalona. He tilted his ears back and ducked his head slightly. "I'm sorry... is...is this your territory... i was just passing through..."

Being chased. Oh that didn't sound good. Yanamari turned her head towards the direction the stallion had come from and opened her mouth to ask him just who or what was chasing him. But he beat her to it, he must have figured he would ask that and so she snapped her mouth shut and turned her eyes back to him. Well as long as whatever it was that had been chasing him didn't come suddenly barreling at them while they stood here talking it would be alright.
Why was she here? Well, she wasn't even sure of that herself. Before she could answer that he asked if it was her territory. "Oh, oh no. These aren't my lands." She told him with a firm shake of her head. "It is far too open for me here, I wouldn't want to live in a place like this." Oh now she was saying too much and making herself look bad. Shesh, clearly she needed more practice at this whole talking to others thing. One step at a time. "I was passing through myself."
Worse part was, in all her nervousness she had forgotten the most basic manner. "Oh, oh dear. I'm sorry, I should introduce myself. I am Yanamari." So flustered by her lacking of manners she forgot to ask for the stallions name as well.

Past memories could chase someone right? He glanced back at the road and shrugged. "I doubt they will be here soon..." He shuffled his feet feeling slightly awkward for bothering this passing mare. Maybe he just needed the socialization.
He relaxed slightly when she told him she was passing through too. "Oh... then i guess we are both travelers..." He glanced around and his nice side kicked up. "You are right... it is a bit open out here... Would you like to move a bit closer to the trees?" He was interested in her shiny scales. He never knew he was a crow at heart... but her shininess made his eyes be pulled to her pretty scales and those scales faded into the most intriguing wings he had probably ever seen.
"Yanamari..." He tried it out. "Its pretty." He pondered a moment "Im Cian... Cian Alastair... if you want to be formal." He glanced once more at her wings. "Your wings... they are... very interesting."

Both travelers. Well that was something to hold in common right. Two travelers should be able to talk about something together. They could discuss where they were going, or perhaps where they had been. Anything really. See, she could do this, no problem. As he suggested that they move closer to the trees she blew a sigh of relief. Certainly she would feel more relaxed and confident about talking with him if they weren't so out in the open. "Yes...closer to the trees would be good." Did he just say her name was pretty, she'd never been told that before. "Oh...why, uh thank you...Cian." That was an interesting name indeed, especially when he told her his formal name.
With a slight bob of her head Yanamari turned and began to walk toward the trees. With each step she felt more relaxed, more confident. And then...he mentioned her wings.
Bringing her hooves to a sudden stop Yanamari side stepped a bit, getting away from the stallion. Oh why did he have to bring up her wings. Splayed tail wrapped around her back leg reflexively. Oh lord, please don't say anything about the tail. Yanamari wasn't sure she could handle that. "My...my wings...are..." She looked away, suddenly afraid of him...and herself. "...they are a curse." There she said it, what she truly saw them as. And then she hurried off to stand amongst the trees, here she could feel safe even if he had brought up her wings.

Cian gave a nod and followed after her as she took a few more steps toward the trees. And then she froze. He had said something stupid... He just knew it. He was opening his mouth to apologize when she spoke what had set her off.
Her wings. They truely were magnificent... he had always wondered what it was like to fly. However, his sister hadn't mastered the art until after he left.
He decided it was a sensitive topic and moved on. "So...Yanamari... Where are you going to..." He was headed where ever his feet took him. No where special... except back to where he started so he could start this journey all over again.

To say that she was relieved that he dropped the subject of her wings was a sheer understatement. Most would persist on the subject, be it good or bad comments until she either ran away from them or on rare occasions snapped and let her Kalona blood take control. That she hated more than anything else, letting those primal urges take hold and causing her to do actions she would otherwise never do. That was the part of her that was a monster, the part she wished to hide and not acknowledge.
"Well..." She glanced out towards the meadow they had just been in. Had she even had a destination in mind? Not that she could remember. Yanamari traveled almost constantly, going wherever there was forest to provide her comfort and cover. "...I...didn't really have a destination in mind." She finally admitted with a shrug. "What about you? Where will you go so those who are chasing you don't find you?" Yanamari still had no idea who was chasing the stallion but as scary as the idea was she also found herself curious over the situation.

Cian was watching her. She intrigued him. Maybe they were more similar then he thought they were at first glance. He offered a soft look and flicked his ears.
"Sometimes.... thats the best destination...." His mind flittered with an idea. maybe... just maybe... he wouldn't have to be alone all the time. He tipped his head at her question and shook his head. "Im traveling to get away, not to get somewhere." This was completely true. He knew eventually he would find himself checking in on his family... however... that wasn't where he wanted to be going... Maybe... she could help him not go back.
"Well, if you weren't going anywhere in particular... how would you like to travel in the same direction with me." He gave her an inquisitive glance. "Its ok to say no... you could start and i would start after you have walked a bit.... " He grinned at how odd that sounded.

Yanamari considered his words carefully. Travel together? She had never traveled with anyone before, preferring to remain solitary. And yet...the allure of having a traveling partner was certainly welcome. Perhaps then she would feel so alone all the time. She supposed that if at some point it became bothersome in any way then they could go their separate ways. So far he had seemed nice, even if he had brought up her wings, she could overlook that since he had also decided to drop it.
"I suppose we could...but I prefer if we could stick close to the trees." She told him with a bit of a nod. Two pairs of eyes could better find shelter or spot danger. But wait, what if she became the danger that they needed to look out for? Oh dear. Her hooves shuffled about the ground in indecision. "I...well..." Just say it, what's the worse that can happen? Well he could run off, but certainly she was somewhat used to that. "...sometimes I get angry over things, and I can't control it. If you were to travel with me, you should know that." There, she said it, even if it was somewhat vague.

Cian watched her. She said yes... Buuuuut there seemed to be a stipulation he flicked his ears. "No problem i don't mind hugging the forests." He nodded. Now that that was settled... he thought it would be a fun trip.
She gets angry? How angry was angry? "Don't we all?" He gave a flick of her tail. "So now i know... " He nodded and flicked his tail. "So were you hoping to be anywhere by nightfall? I know a nice little place with lots of trees... It would be perfect for bunking down tonight." He looked toward the open. "However if you have a better place in mind i say we go there."

Yanamari was certainly glad that he was willing to stick close to the forest where she felt the safest. Perhaps with time and some work she might be able to overcome her fear of open spaces. She just needed that little push and a little encouragement, that was all. Her eyes looked out across the open meadow for a moment and then back to Cian. Yes, one day, perhaps not tomorrow or the day after but in the future, she would be running across a meadow such as that without a care in the world. That would be a great day indeed.
A smile grew across her lips as he spoke. don't we all? Such a simple and yet profound statement. It was true, everyone got angry, even though who claimed to live lives of peace. "So now you know." She said with a nod of her head. As simple as that. "Well other than someplace safe there is no place I would like to reach by nightfall. We can go to where you speak of, it sounds perfect." Trees, after all, were her sanctuary.

Cian nodded. "Alright... lets get moving then...." He flicked his tail. The place he had in mind had a lovely river that ran through it... and it did have a lovely amount of trees.
He started moving... he could dodge trees for a while. He just hoped she didn't mind walking close to the edge of the forest. He doubted he would be able to see in the deeper parts. "Its not... too far away... Let me show you." ANd thus marked the first steps of their journey together.
