 This definitely wasn't right.. not at all.. She had been certain that this was another path back to her old pond.. Instead the roar of the incoming surf was almost deafening as she drew closer. She's never seen the ocean.. so her interest was perked.. just what kind of trinkets could she find here?

 Nessie was floating lazily near the surface. The sun was warming, and it was just overcast enough that not many were at the water today. It was a perfect time to lie out and not be ridiculed or taunted. It was as close to perfection as she could get in her life. Unbothered, even Hannibal was gone today. She had never been alone and so content before. As the warm sun beamed down on her, she rotated to let her back enjoy some of the warmth while letting her head lie beneath the peaceful, still water.

She drew closer till she saw waves crashing and the spray of the water. This was the ocean was it? Massive. vast.. wide. She stood on the beach just looking out over the water in awe. She'd spent all her life at the family pond and now her new home was a swamp.. the ocean was definitely much much larger by far. how many water soquili could live there?

Nessie rolled back onto her back, opening a lazy eye to the sun. That's when she saw it. Of course, she could never be not bothered. There was a kelpie standing at the top of the cliff looking down. She didn't think she'd seen her yet...but maybe she had. She remained very still, waiting to see what the newcomer would do.

Her eyes then fell on a strange shape in the water. It reminded her of a sethi... only much much larger... She gave a whinnied to see if possibly it was dead.. something told her it wasn't.. and helping others for no reason wasn't something she did all the time.. but today.. her spirit was light she had claimed a fine specimen of male for her own.

The newcomer just wasn't going to leave. Lifting her head out of the water, she looked up at the newcomer. "Are you just going to stare?" Her deep throaty voice called out.

She eyed the shape below her for a moment. "Was just checking to see if I was seeing a dead something or other." She called down. " If I'm bothering you.. just let me know... and I'll just be on my way.. I was only enjoying my first view of the ocean any how..." Her voice was cheerful enough and her smile held sharp teeth good for ripping flesh or eating fish.

It didn't take her long to make it down the cliff and into the water. Swimming out she drew closer to the individual she'd been conversing with. " I'm Enakai.. And who might you be?"

Rolling to keep her body from drying out, Nessie spoke. "I'm Nessie. Some think I'm monster. That's an interesting name." She gave a tooth grin.

She couldn't help but to chuckle.. a monster? this mare.. she couldn't see how this mare could be a monster at all.. after all.. her own mate had a more creepy look to him than this mare before her did. " I wouldn't say a monster.. I would just say that you're really big.. but then.. I've seen some pretty big land soquili..." She grinned back flashing her sharp teeth once more.

She pondered a moment on her encounters and what her mother had once told her. "Well.. I'm personally med a mare with a single horn upon her head.. sadly I couldn't talk her out of that little bobble.... Then there was the shimmering stallion who's cousin he said had wings and looked like a gem stone... and there are some who like my mother are like the deer in their appearance I'm only half kelpie.. my father was a full blooded.. mother was a Cerynei. Apparently there are some others that are broad and bulky....rather big... other than that there are some small but they look sort of like you.. real tiny buggers.. and thieves they are..." She gave a small snort remembering the day she nearly lost her trinket to that tiny mare.

She thought about just how to go about explaining what a cerynei was. "You see my hooves?? why they're split looking??? Now Imagine me without my tail.. and instead having a small patch of tuft where my tail should be.. no find just split hooves and a tuft of fluff for a tail.. that's what a cerynei looks like... and a deer.. it's a critter that looks sorta like that. only ... not..."
