It had taken her some time to find this place, in the closed off sector of town - they were on top of a building with a very large roof, which had suited her purposes just fine. She didn't care what might be inside - just the roof span.

It made an ideal training spot. Somewhere where not many went, with large enough space... More importantly, somewhere were people weren't likely to stumble in and feel a corrupted senshi of all things.

They both could use the training, really, but Alunite even more so. He was, after all, a senshi that couldn't quite hit his enemies with his magic. Which got... a little bothersome at times.

The sibilings fought similarly, and yet differently. Fluorite was more focused on moving fast and dodging, all but dancing around her taller brother and using whatever opening she found for light blows. Alunite on the other hand, was slower, but did his best to give his hits as much strength as he could manage.

Which wasn't much, thanks to his frame, but the strength boost helped.

"Umbra Eclipse !"

Ohhh no~

Fluorite lunged by, hitting her brother in the middle of the chest just as he was about to vanish, just strong enough to fall back on his a**. "Too close ! You need distance to do that !"

"Bah." He muttered, not bothering to move up from where he was sitting, trying to catch the breath that had been knocked out of his lungs. "Let's take a break ?"

"Already ? Aha." Her heart was pounding from the activity, but Fluorite hadn't started to feel the tiredness hit yet. "Nerd."

Alunite stuck out his tongue. "Midget."

"Weaaaaaakkk~" Fluorite laughed, then backed a few steps, taking a water bottle out of the messenger bag she had brought along, and throwing it at her brother.

Two semi-familiar spikes of energy were enough to grab Hiro's attention as he traversed the rooftops of the neighbourhood. With both Painite and Alkaid recovering from injuries, the cat had time to spare of an evening. Staying at home grew quite boring - not to mention feeling like his was abandoning his duties - so Hiro went on solo 'patrols'. Really, it was more like acquainting himself with the city and spying if he did feel an unfamiliar energy signature. But familiar was better. Hiro felt more useful when he was training his kids, after all.

It took him longer to reach his two students than it would have taken an enhanced human - smaller body meant the gaps between buildings were wider for him, you do the math. Still, he was faster than an ordinary cat (or an ordinary human).

Hiro arrived in time to see a familiar young woman throwing a bottle at a familiar senshi's head. He sighed and shook his head at the two purple-haired siblings. The downside to having a family member completely there for you was that Hiro had to put up with rivalry antics.

"Careful, you could put an eye out doing that," he announced his presence, slinking forward out of the shadows. He turned so that his blind eye was facing Fluorite. "I should know."

The tone of his voice was serious. But was Hiro? It didn't seem likely that a water bottle could be responsible for that scar, after all. He kept his seriouscat face on for a few more moments before snickering.

"My favourite pair of siblings... What brings you here? Working hard or hardly working?" he teased. Inwardly he was pleased to see them out training, helping each other - well, perhaps slightly more Fluorite helping Alunite, but the extra practice wouldn't hurt her.

What ? Who had found... Oh ! "Hey, Hiro !" Fluorite was all smiles and cheerfulness - why shouldn't be ? She quite liked the little tiger. She seemed to be more playing with her water bottle than actually drinking it - perhaps trying to figure out how one could even put an eye out with one ?

Eh, maybe if you shattered it first...

Alunite, for his part, was downing his own bottle at a rather amazing speed. There was a rather nasty bruise right under his nose which at least looked like it had been caused by something a little more sturdy than a water bottle.

"Well, maybe if he made me do more than break a sweat..." There was the teasing. It was perfect, inevitable. Fluorite had made no effort to hide the fact that Alunite was her brother, at least not to the rest of the negaverse.

Hiro trotted up to the two and resisted the prehistoric-feline urge deep in his brain to rub against their legs. No, no, he had an image to maintain here. Instead he dropped to seat in front of them.

"I can see your handiwork," he told Fluorite dryly, eyeing the bruise Alunite was sporting. "How is he progressing?"

Fluorite wasn't hugely more experienced than Alunite, but it was enough. There was also the fact that as a senshi, Alunite was no doubt more geared towards magic attacks than physical - lacking even the mostly-useless weapon of a Lieutenant. Still, he'd have to learn how to avoid the hits of others. Not all the white moon senshi out there relied on their magical abilities. And considering that Alunite's own power was more to do with enabling sneaking and hiding, it was best he learned how to deal some damage himself.

To Alunite, he asked, "Is she a good teacher?"

Let it not be said that Hiro was only here to critique Alunite, after all.

Fluorite pouted. "I didn't do it. Some stupid page thing did. Whatever that is supposed to mean." She'd tried to do her research, but there just wasn't much, through... "Have you heard about them ? They use weapons, but they work with the senshi." She sounded rather unhappy with that fact.

At least Fluorite seemed to remember that there had been a few questions in Hiro's speech. "He's doing okay... He's getting quicker on his feet. Needs work on endurance and dodging, as you can probably see."

"Or you know, you know, stop being more spazzy then a small child hopped on sugar." The bottle was empty, so Alunite let it down and worked himself back on his feet, stretching a bit. "Well, uh, I guess she's doing okay ? I've been seeing a difference in between the times I fought real opponents, at least..."

Hiro nodded at the mention of the Pages. So either there were a very few that were really getting around, or this new faction was really coming out of the woodwork now.

"I've heard of them. Captain Painite also had a run-in with them. Gave as good as she got, but that's only to be expected after training with me," he said smugly, his tail winding about in the air like a question mark flipping slowly back and forth.

He frowned at the information that the Pages were working with the senshi. Painite had fought them alone, no senshi in the mix. Hiro had thought he was dealing with a third side to this giant war. The idea that these Pages were reinforcements for the senshi was not reassuring.

The more routine conversation on Alunite's progress, and weaknesses, dragged Hiro's mind away from the Pages. The best way of dealing with them was to get better at what they did, after all.

"Hrmmm," Hiro hummed, staring at Alunite with a narrowed eye. "Endurance and agility, I see." His mind filled with gleeful images of making Alunite run laps until he dropped, or (only partially) deadly survival courses where he had to dodge a multitude of projectiles and traps.

"Fufufufu~" Soft, and not at all reasurring, laughter bubbled up from the cat.

"I haven't seen one for myself yet." Fluorite was looking somewhat annoyed with the subject matter, the short lieutenant frowning as she spoke. If Painite had also run into some... "I wonder why they just came out of ******** nowhere all of sudden."

"I met two." Alunite continued. "The shield one and a younger one, with chains. I tried to get some info out of him, but... That didn't work out too well."

He didn't give many good senshi vibes. The holes made it hard, too. "He mentioned saturn and I thought that was odd but... I don't know if it was just to throw me off or not."

The cat's laughter made the siblings look at each other once more - this didn't sound good. For them, that is.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 06, 2011 7:47 pm

"How do you feel about obstacle courses?" was the smug response from the cat as the siblings exchanged wary looks.

Fluorite received an especially toothy grin. "We could work on your aim while Alunite works on his dodging abilities."

Two birds with one stone! Mmmm, birds... No, training time, not food time! Hiro snapped himself back to attention. It occured to him that the pair of siblings may not like the sound of his suggestion.

"Or you could both run laps? Many, many laps," Hiro offered, tail twitching as it did when he plotted evil things. Everyone should have a choice after all. Hiro just didn't promise either of them would be especially appealing.

Of course, the siblings might have training ideas of their own... Hiro sat and stared at them, waiting to hear any counter offers.

Hmmmmmmm... Well, hell hadn't opened out under their feet yet, through Hiro looked like he was enjoying himself a little too much down there.

"Laps sound fun, actually."

"You're only saying that just because you know you'll win." Alunite looked rather put off by the idea. Especially if it meant some crazy race on rooftop that would be most likely to end up with him down below with a snapped spine, or something equally ridiculous. "I like the obstacle course, through. She's right, I really need to get better at dodging..."

"You only say that because you know you're going to have your a** handed to you, darling."

Clearly Hiro would have to be the tie-breaker here.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 18, 2011 4:16 pm

"Oh?" Hiro half-sang as the two began squabbling over which training option they preferred. Ah siblings, how lucky Hiro was. Yes, feel the sarcasm there. But Hiro was still amused, if only because there was some enthusiasm present in the argument... and because he knew an easy way to solve this problem.

"We'll combine them," he announced. The tip of his tail twitched as he tried to hold back a kitty smirk. Walking to the edge of the building, he noted two landmarks close by. "The 'lap' begins here, goes to that ghastly neon sign," he nodded a block or so to the left, "over to the church," a nod to a very plain building on the right, only a faintly-lit cross marking it as something different from the surrounding buildings, "and back here."

He paused, letting them spot the landmarks and note the route. "Alunite, you have a headstart - Fluorite won't leave til you reach the sign. Fluorite, not only do you get to chase him, you get to try and beat him up, too." Here the feral kitty grin did escape. Clearly Hiro was enjoying his role as taskmaster a little too much. "Throw rocks, beat him with your fists or whatever makeshift weapons you can find if you get close enough, whatever works for you. How does ten laps sound?"

For starters, at least. Ahhh, it was good to be a cat.

Alunite seemed more or less resigned to his fate. Really, it was very much two against one, so he was more or less screwed.

So, with a over-exaggerated sigh, he started running. He had in inchling that this wasn't going to end well for him.

Fluorite, for her part, was grinning like the Cheshire Cat. Beating her brother up ? Oh, certainly ! The evening was starting to be very fun, even under the iron will of General Hiro.

Alunite finally got to the sign, and the tiniest lieutenant dashed on her way after him.

Hiro gave a chuckle as Alunite took off. He and Fluorite exchanged cheerful Cheshire grins before the Lieutenant was also off and running.

... Well. That left Hiro sitting here. Hmm. Too bad this was training and he couldn't take a nap. Even dropping down to his belly would remove the majority of the course from his line of sight, nullifying the whole point of training under Hiro's watchful eye. No rest for the wicked, it seemed.

Despite the fact that the two humans were far too distant to hear him, it didn't stop Hiro from yelling as he watched and waited. "No, faster! Faster, she's gaining!" and then "oooh, a pipe! Better, loose bricks! Throw them, throw them!"

He got quite into it, a small (compared to human, still large for a housecat) striped form trotting back and forth along the edge of the building, yelling out to people many buildings away. It was the thought that counted, right? Maybe they could hear him in their hearts or something appropriately mystical and bullshit-y like that.

For most of the laps, Hiro's sage advice did remain mostly unheard by either parties, and neither had the time to really notice their furred mentor's sheer excitement, for he was right on one thing.

Fluorite was closing in on Alunite. Not as quickly as it had once been, no, but she was closing in. And throwing stuff. Hiro had said nothing about going off-course, so this was the senshi's saving grace right there - he was waving in and out, making it harder for the lieutenant to do her work.

Harder, but not impossible. Fluorite was really showing her strengths here - her speed and agility. She wasn't strong per-se, even with negaverse super-strength factored in, but she might as well have been a tiny, speeding bullet.

Then, at one point, she vanished. Completely off the course.

It took a moment for Alunite to notice, and he stopped. His expression wasn't visible from how far away he was from Hiro, but he took a few, slow steps back.

And that was when Fluorite dropped from the nook she'd managed to stuff herself in, and the chase began anew.

Eventually, through, they were done all their laps, and even Fluorite was short of breath after that one, going for the water bottles and handing one to her brother.

Hiro trotted over to the siblings, mentally switching from General!Hiro to Papa!Hiro and beaming proudly. It was like watching his babies learn to walk. Only these siblings were faster and far more deadly... ah, Hiro couldn't be happier!

"Very nice job, both of you," he congratulated them. "Alunite, how are you feeling? Nothing much worse than bruises?"

If it was true, it wasn't because Fluorite had been pulling her punches. She was going all out - and perhaps she could do better, but as she was learning, so too was Alunite.

"And Fluorite, those were some very nice tactics you displayed." Very sneaky. Hiro approved.

All up, Papa!Hiro was quite proud.

Alunite didn't answer just yet - first order of thing, he had a date with that water bottle.

Second order of things... He only let go once the bottle was empty. "I don't think so... ?" He's gotten pelted with pretty much anything his sister had found that wasn't nailed down, but it was hard to tell the extend of the 'damage' since his uniform was so covering. But it didn't seem like he was bleeding from anywhere - there was no stickiness.

There had been less instant water bottle vacuuming on Fluorite's part, who was now all but beaming from the praise. "Thanks !"
