Share your list of movies that you have felt deserved rating of 10 out of 10. There need not be any particular criteria for a movie to deserve this mark for you. Just films that are truly entertaining or moving to you.

Please also feel free to discuss the merits of films appearing in someone else's list. Perhaps someone has something that is a steaming pile of junk. Ask them about it, find out what made it so interesting, point out the flaws you see with it. Perhaps we can learn something new or be introduced to something wonderful we've never heard of before. Foreign film buffs would be of particular value to this thread.

My own list of 10s in no particular order:
A Clockwork Orange
Fight Club
Lord of the Rings Triology
Forrest Gump
American Beauty
Braveheart
The Green Mile
300
Conan the Barbarian
Casino
Avatar
How to Train Your Dragon
Repo: The Genetic Opera

Ghost Rider? Seriously? This deserves some discussion. What about that movie was "IT" for you. Maybe I'm biased because I'm not a big Nick Cage fan, but if memory serves correct, it felt so generic.

Hmm....I'm not quite sure what it is. It might be Ghost Rider himself or enemies.
As for generic...I'm not quite sure I follow what you mean.

I haven't seen it in quite a while, so my opinion here may be totally off base. But if my memory serves me correctly, the move just came across as melodramatic and formulaic. Pretty standard summer blockbuster fair. Not terrible, but not memorable either.

(Please don't feel as if I'm picking on you. That's not my intent. You are welcome to question me on any of the offerings I made as well!)

It's probably the fact that it's not very memorable that is one of the reasons I like it. I can't stand watching something when it has the I've seen it before feeling to it.
(No worries, It's not bothering me either way. Most of the movies you have listed I've either neither seen or not seen completely)

On the positive side for it, when in flame mode, Ghost Rider looked bad a** in it. There should have been more flaming badassery and less Nick Cage being Nick Cage.

It's not that I dislike him, I just have trouble seeing him as an action hero for some reason. He has his moments though.

That was interesting to say the least. I rather enjoy him as a hero like in National Treasure.

I've only seen a snippet of that one, so I can't really comment on it. The only time Cage looked tough to me in a film, and I can't remember the name of it, was one where he had put on about 30 lbs of muscle for the role and was playing a villain. All i can remember from it really is that he wore white, and benchpressed his girlfriend at one point. He looked pretty tough there. Most of the time though, he just doesn't look like a believable tough guy to me.

He's not so much a tough guy, but more of a smart @$$. Well I gotta go, Later.

I just watched one of my favorite movies on tv, so I thought I'd add it in here:

American History X

I'll probably add more when they come to mind. LoL
I also agree with Kannonm's choices of:

Fight Club
Braveheart
The Green Mile
Casino

I'm very tempted to add that one now that you mention it. It kind of has a bit of a demerit against it for me, in terms of believability. After he went to prison, the change in character, after he had been a radical leader, just seemed a little unlikely. The movie does a good job of providing reason for his character development, still, a little tough to chew on. Along with the fact, that the reaction against him is so harsh when he returns without the hatred, and that the hatred is indeed completely washed out of him.

You don't go from a curb stomp to a model citizen in a couple of years and because of folding laundry with one good man.

I see where you're coming from, but people react differently to trauma. I mean, if people you regarded as your brothers (especially in a hostile environment) not only betrayed you, but 'raped' you.... well I'd be quick to change my views and values too.

I 'did' find that his friend's reactions to be a bit extreme when the news got out, but their whole lifestyle is basically based around hate. Of course they'd be offended and pissed off that one of their icons came home 'singing a new tune'.
