Siren Shell trotted out of the Stables, the little blue Phony humming to herself brightly as she skipped along in the street. The little filly was brand spanking new, so new her flank was still blank of a cutie mark, her short blue-and-white babby mane groomed fastidiously by her doting owner. She seemed cheerful enough, if a little shy of other Phonies, quite focused on her goal of crossing through the city. Today, she had a mission.
As she reached the outskirts of Phony City and stared out across the Grassy Plains, she paused. She was off to go in search of AdventureTM, her head already full of stories of the Elements of Harmony. Besides that, she hadn't seen much of Phonyland, and she longed to know what was out there. But which seat should she take?

Come ooon! Come oon! It was irritating Raz to no end that she couldn't fly yet. Her wings were too small, they weren't developed enough to allow flight. But that wasn't going to stop Raz! She was born for the skies and she was going to get up there one way or another! The little orange Phony kept jumping with her wings spread. But she kept falling. " Come OOON!" she shouted in frustration as she made another leap. Almost...almost...al....oh crap. Razzle Dazzle face planted into the grass and dirt. Groaning....the young pegasus was just getting more and more irritated. Why wouldn't she fly!? Frustrated, Raz slammed her hoof into the grass She wanted to fly so badly!

Siren's ears perked up as she heard the frustrated shout of another filly, glancing around with wide pink eyes and spotting the young Pegasus Phony briefly leaping above the high grasses, straining her short immature feathered wings, and tumbling back to earth with a cry. The blue Earth Phony gasped and ran forward, breaking through the grasses to see the little Pegasus face flat in the dirt.
"Oh dear! Are you all right?" she exclaimed worriedly, her brow furrowed, coming closer to see if the frustrated filly was injured.
"What are you doing?" Siren demanded a little boldly, then crossed her forelegs, tilting her face away a little so her forelock fell over one eye, sheepish.
"I mean, uh, what happened?"

Raz grumbled as she stomped at the ground, only to turn and see another young filly coming towards her. A blue earth phony. Raz's frown didn't change as she looked back at the ground. "I am fine..." she grumbled. She wasn't hurt. At least not physically. Her pride was a bit shattered though.
"I was trying to fly! What else?" she exclaimed, then sighed and looked back at Siren. "I am sorry. I didn't mean to snap. But I am trying to learn to fly and nothing is working. I hear the skies calling out to me...and I want so badly to fly up there with the birds, gryphons, and other phonies...." she said as Raz looked longingly at the sky.

Siren looked a little pityingly at Raz as she lowered her head, cocking her own curiously. She jerked back a little in surprise as the pegasus raised her voice, blinking her big eyes. Shying back, hiding behind her hair, she nodded understandingly, looking away. It must be frustrating to have wings but to be unable to fly. As an Earth phony, Siren herself had no such urge. But she imagined it must be different for a Pegasus.
"Maybe you need to get up on higher ground," she suggested.
"It must be hard to lift off from flat ground," she added quietly, pulling back towards the cover of the grasses if she'd angered Raz at all.

"I tried that! I jumped from that tree up there a little while ago!" said Raz as she pointed at a tree not too far off. "I got a little glide, but not much I still crashed...UGH!" she shouted as she kicked a rock and sent it flying. "Stupid wings. Stupid wind. PICK UP!" she shouted at the sky. Yes, she was being quite....difficult. But she was getting sick of always CRASHING when she tried to fly! Raz had a short temper at times, usually she was friendly, but right now she was frustrated from her lack of flight....she just wanted to fly like other pegasus phonies! Was that so hard?
