~Sencha Green Tea~
The emperor of green teas, hand picked, deep steamed, and carefully dried right after harvesting. This is a traditional Japanese green tea with tightly rolled, needle-shaped leaves. It was picked in early spring after the leaves have developed their balance of sweetness and astringency. The liquor is bright emerald green in color, with a clean finish, and a taste somewhat reminiscent of seaweed. True Sencha differs in character from most Chinese-style green teas not only with its sleek, dark green appearance but its higher green notes compared to nuttier, vegetal notes. It goes well with seafood and is brilliant with chocolate.
~Brewing~
The key with sencha is to use soft water at a low temperature with a short steeping time. It's a delicate tea, and does well made in a small vessel like a gaiwan or kyusu.
~Tasting Notes~
Japanese green teas are famous for their umami taste, a flavor best described as the natural sweetness of the tea leaf, tasting like ocean and refreshing spring greens. This pronounced taste, occurring at different intensities depending on the tea, is directly related to how the tea was cultivated and processed. Generally, high grades of matcha, gyokuro and sencha teas have the strongest, sweet umami flavor.

xxxAbe is quite a softie and worries over those people and things in his care. (He has a small chicken coop in the back of his property and has five hens. One has aged out of laying, but he doesn't have the heart to do her in, so he has a pet chicken and four laying hens.) His bouts of worry cause him to double and triple check to make sure doors are locked, stove is off, and everything is in its place before he could even think about settling down to read or to go to bed. He adores learning, and even though he has all the schooling he needs, he loves soaking up new and interesting bits of information. From a distance, this trait may make him seem like he enjoys gossip, or is a bit of a busy body if someone around him is going on and on over something, he'll tune in out of curiosity. If secrets are shared or he's told something of a matter of privacy, his answer is 'I'll take it with me to my death, or until I forget. Whichever comes first.' and he has yet to betray his promise. Abraham, in general, is an informal sort of fellow, but no means rude or uncivil, it's just that he's quick to embrace new friends and converses with others as if he's known them for a long while.

~ Home Is Where The Heart Is ~ The light and bright Maazia residence is small enough to classified as a cottage, under 1300 square feet, but is on bigger side of the scale at 1292 square feet. Entering into the home from the covered porch in front, one finds oneself standing between the living room and dining room. A circular table with four chairs stands on the right, while two simple comfy chairs and a couch that closely seats three are facing a central coffee table. Along the wall farthest in the living room is a bank of built-in bookshelves on either side of a wood burning iron fireplace. Hardwood floors throughout the lower floor save for tile in the downstairs bathroom. Carpeting going up the stairs and all through the upper floor, sans the bathroom. In the closet of the upstairs study, which is at the very top of the stairs, is where Abraham keeps his washer, which was a gift from his parents and a folding, collapsible drying rack which can be moved anywhere in the house or even outside if he doesn't feel like bothering with the clothes line. In the study proper is a work table that is normally kept clear for ease in folding laundry when it is dry, there can usually be found books, papers, writing utensils, maybe a cup of something brought up from the kitchen so long as it won't condensate on anything important and it can be placed far enough from the edge to not make Abe worry. From time to time, he may put a small framed picture, a little globe, or a rogue, unpaired bookend on the table to 'spruce it up' and to give the lonesome bookend a bit of a home, which may also end up in the garden depending on the material of the bookend. Abe's Room - At the top of the stairs is a door on the left which leads to Abraham's room. In the bedroom proper is a queen sized bed, a modest dresser, a bedside table, and a lamp. Farthest from the door is his closet and across from that is the loft, annexed to add some extra room and to give him some place to decompress and read after a long day, if he isn't reading in the garden, the living room, the dining room, on the covered porch, or in the study. There is a small book case there as well, just three feet tall and three shelves with a few candles on a plate on top. The light here is excellent for reading seeing as the loft is right under a sky light.
