The night was relatively young in Kallichore's mind. She'd been watching the city from a position on a high building. Probably some kind of apartment complex, though she didn't look for sure. What mattered was that she had the vantage point to conduct some scans. Her mental scanning ability had improved with her upgrade, but things were still new to her. Her brown eyes narrowed as she counted the dimming lights of the city.

Europa had given her some food for thought - the other moons of Jupiter were out there somewhere, and many more were still sleeping. Her research yielded the idea that there were sixty or so moons that orbited Jupiter, her own being one of the smallest. Europa had obtained Eternal form, and had said she met one other moon of Jupiter - Ganymede. While he wasn't very fighting-forward, he could provide some information. Ganymede had been awakened before Kallichore. Therefore, she sought him out night after night.

Pinpointing his energy signature without knowing him personally made it difficult, but she narrowed down where he might be. Watching from her position on the tall building, he seemed to do the same as she - watching and waiting. Perhaps he was doing some research as well? There was only one way to find out. Descending from her perch, Kallichore started to make her way towards the other senshi, knowing a scan would reveal her instantly.

Ganymede rarely transformed, and when he did he avoided the potential for danger as much as possible. He knew few others -- only two by name and he hadn't seen them in months -- and he liked his fate as one of them even less. Yet he couldn't completely ignore it. On the nights when he felt brave enough, curious enough, he took out his pen and he said the words necessary to become what he was, but he stuck to the shadows, observing what he could and intervening only when some hapless civilian's life was in danger.

He was bitter, and he was suspicious, and he was still afraid. Consequently, he didn't appreciate being followed.

He didn't know who she was or what she wanted, but it didn't take him long to notice her and sense her approach. Dark hair, mostly red and white outfit, extremely frayed and tattered, unfamiliar, though that wasn't saying much. Not an enemy, but not a friend either. He looked around for some sign of danger that might explain her torn clothes, but there was no youma nor anyone more menacing, and aside from her shoddy state of dress there was nothing else about her that made it seem as if she'd just come from a fight. Looking like that, he'd have thought she'd be bleeding everywhere.

"Is there a reason you're stalking me?" he asked, wary but not quite hostile -- at least not yet.

She knew he'd seen her, which was her intention. Ascending to stand level with him, the full force of his rather stylish regalia hit her like a rogue wave. She had not prepared for what Ganymede would look like. Kallichore never thought she'd judge a book by its cover but wow. That outfit could not have been comfortable. The super senshi tried not to let the look of shock play across her face too much. No doubt Ganymede was used to that.

"I wouldn't call it stalking." she explained after a moment, steadying herself on a new perch near him. She sat with her legs beneath her. No doubt, compared to him, she looked positively frightening (and not in a good way). "I've been trailing you because Europa said you were another moon of Jupiter like myself. I thought maybe you'd know something I didn't."

Judging by his fuku, she wouldn't have guessed he was a senshi still. From her experience, one's outfit became more elaborate. How would Ganymede's become more elaborate than the burlesque thing he had on now?

Whose idea was that fuku?
PostPosted: Tue May 24, 2011 6:43 pm

He noticed the looks but didn't deign them with much of a reaction. He was used to them at this point and knew to expect them; he'd be more surprised if someone didn't look at him funny, but considering her shredded appearance he didn't think she had much right to judge. Was that a normal look for her?

Ganymede's brow quirked at the mention of one of the only other senshi he knew by name, but other than that he didn't show much interest. "Trailing, stalking, it's all the same to me," he said, glancing the other senshi over as he mulled over her comments.

"I don't know what you expect me to know. If you've talked to Europa, then you probably have a better idea of things than I do," he told her, crossing his arms over his chest in a guarded stance. "I haven't seen her in a few months, and when we did meet there wasn't much time for conversation. I haven't exactly been very interested in risking my life for all of this since then."

He supposed he could have seemed a bit more approachable to this new senshi, but the memories of past experiences didn't put him in a very good mood. Although, he had to admit there were worse people he could have run into.

"Normally at this point there'd be an exchange of names, but you obviously know who I am already."

Kallichore tilted her head. She knew staring was rude. She just couldn't believe the fuku on this boy. Perhaps his sphere was can can dancing or something, and then the whole getup would make sense. The gray haired senshi pushed that train of thought to the back of her mind. She didn't want to be rude to someone she may have known in the past. Europa did mention knowing Ganymede in the past to some degree, so the super senshi knew such a thing was possible. How possible was something she hadn't explored yet. Shifting her weight, she answered him.

"I'm Sailor Kallichore. Europa gave me your information." The senshi crossed her arms and maintained a rather stoic expression. Ganymede didn't seem very receptive to the whole idea of the senshi. His past and background was completely foreign to her, and she wasn't sure how interested she was. "I'm assuming something bad happened to you when you met Europa?"

She could get into the whole 'we're both moons of Jupiter, gee I wonder what that means' later, after the ice was broken. Kallichore was rather self conscious of her outfit when she stood near him, wondering if she'd had a different sphere, would she have gotten a nicer fuku? No use crying over spilled milk.

Ganymede took her name in stride, though he didn't recognize it. He hadn't done much research himself, only enough to know where his and Europa's names came from. The other moons were beyond his level of caring; most of them had seemed pretty small and insignificant anyway. As Europa hadn't mentioned anyone else, he hadn't thought he'd meet another one, but senshi seemed to pop up out of the woodwork and now he thought he should have expected this at some point.

"I suppose I should be flattered that you and Europa felt the need to talk about me," he muttered. He hadn't really thought he'd made much of an impression on the older senshi. Then again, the circumstances had been pretty unforgettable, at least for him.

"'Bad' doesn't even begin to describe it," he continued. He wasn't sure he felt like discussing it with someone he didn't know, but as she was on his side and relatively new he didn't see much of a reason to sugar coat anything. No one had really given him any idea of what he was getting himself into; he wasn't going to treat anyone else the same way. "It was a disaster. There was a big battle. We were with some civilians. Eventually we got separated and someone decide to make a go for my starseed. Unsuccessfully, but he came close enough. It was only my second battle."

He shivered still, thinking about how close he'd come to dying. "I haven't seen Europa since, but then I don't make it a habit to go around hunting for people," he said, giving Kallichore a pointed look.

"I asked Europa about the other moons of Jupiter and your name came up, that was all." she breathed, voice flat. Ganymede apparently didn't like Europa very much, or the circumstances surrounding his meeting with her. She thought he should be thankful he was still alive, but didn't find anything of the sort from him. Sore subject, she supposed.

Kallichore pursed her lips as he explained what happened to him. Someone came after his starseed? She'd seen a few Negaverse agents try the same thing, but how they could get their hands on something a senshi themselves could not still eluded her. More research would need to be done to stop this from happening. Eupora had said some things about Ganymede she remembered, like his appearance, but said nothing about his attitude. Sure, nearly being killed could rattle someone, but Kallichore had nearly been killed several times. It was old hat by now.

Stepping forward, she could hear her heels crunching the bits of rock and gravel on the roof. "I have no doubt Europa did the best she could. But you could also be getting stronger since then. You said it was your second battle. With practice comes perfection." It wasn't meant to be a lecture, just an observation Kallichore had made. The more time she spent with Ganymede, the less sure of him she was.

Actually, he happened to like Europa, at least as much as he could like someone he barely even knew. She'd been doing this a lot longer than either he or Kallichore and she seemed to have her s**t together; he could respect that even if he didn't like the fate imposed upon them. She'd been the first to speak to him and in some ways he was attached to the memory. It was the only light spot in all of this. Everything else had been one disaster after another.

"I never said she didn't do her best," Ganymede replied. Kallichore stepping closer put him on edge, but he help his ground and didn't step back. "We got separated, that was all. If I run into her again then I run into her again, and I wouldn't be against talking to her, but I'm not going to go snooping around trying to find her in a city this size."

It rattled him that Kallichore had managed to do so with him, purposefully seek him out. He wasn't thrilled by it. He'd rather blend as far into the background as possible and continue observing, only stepping in when he had to. He wasn't interested in making a name for himself. It didn't take a genius to figure out who had already -- those who were attacked the most, those who incited the most passionate reactions from their enemies. He didn't want that sort of danger.

"There is no perfection," he refuted, leaving his arms crossed. Lecture or not, her observations seemed somewhat unreasonable to him. "The stronger we get, the stronger they get. We get one victory and then they get another. And how long will that go on? Forever? Back and forth, and back and forth until we're all dead?"

Obviously Ganymede wasn't very happy about being a senshi. The news plastered their images all over with captions of 'terrorist' over video of the latest property damage. Kallichore learned to ignore it because she desperately wanted to be part of something greater than she was individually. Being a senshi gave her something she didn't allow herself to have before - acceptance. She had a cousin in the fray and she was, slowly but surely, making alliances. The Blood Moon Court afforded her protection and an outlet for her abilities. It gave her a purpose, and for that she was eternally grateful.

"It goes on until it's finished." came a simple reply. The gray haired senshi had a feeling they would do nothing except butt heads at this juncture, but Kallichore had an insatiable need to know. There had to be some significance to Ganymede being here. There had to be a reasoning behind Europa being around as well. But she still couldn't figure it out. Crossing her arms behind her back, the senshi of madness walked past Ganymede and stood with her back to him. "I intend to stay the course. I couldn't forgive myself if something happened to someone I loved and I had the power to stop it."

For a while, she pondered what lengths she would go to in order to stop the Negaverse from taking someone from her, or from taking someone from anyone. She was still not strong enough to face a general, but with time came experience. She was dedicated to the cause above and beyond most anything else. She was dedicated to Serpentarius. "I want to tip the scales in our favor, I suppose. I guess I'm finally getting used to my powers." Lifting a torn sleeve, it was obvious she would only deteriorate from here if she got more powerful, but the strait jacket look suited her. Kallichore smiled.

If there was any significance to any of them being here, then Ganymede would like to know what it was, because even months after his first transformation he was still having a hard time coming to terms with everything. Having his life turned upside-down and having everything he'd ever known about himself change in an instant was overwhelming, to say the least. Trying to cope with that on top of the dangerous situations he found himself being dragged into was proving to be quite difficult.

"Who says it'll ever be finished, and who's to say who'll win in the end?" he asked, not sure he liked her response. He wasn't exactly receptive to the gung-ho attitude some of his supposed comrades had about all this. Didn't any of them question it? Weren't any of them as upset and frustrated and scared of it all as he was?

"I don't even know what course you're talking about," he said. He knew enough of the basics to know that he didn't care about some long-lost princess. Why was she supposed to mean anything to him? His only concern was staying alive, finding some way through everything without getting hurt, and without losing anyone important to him -- but he didn't have very many of those. Only a few, and none of them even knew that he'd become... this. "I'm not going to let innocent people be hurt if I see harm being done to them, but other than that I don't have much of an interest in any of this."

He didn't even know how or why he was like this, or why it hadn't happened to him sooner if this was how he was supposed to be. "I just want to be normal," he said.

What puzzled Kallichore was this -- if Ganymede was so concerned about being normal, why did he henshin in the first place? Doing so only invited problems since others could detect him in powered form. It didn't make any sense. The gray haired senshi turned to him with a stoic look on her face. Being a part of something greater than a standard human was thrilling to say the very least. "What if this is normal? We're from outer space, you know."

She twined her fingers together and rested them on her stomach. "Have you been back? To your planet? Normal people can't do that. Isn't it exhilarating? It's a blessing that we can go to far off places no one else would be able to see." Kallichore's brown eyes looked up to the sky where the moon hung high on a silver cord. She didn't care about the moon princess -- she thought the girl would have been found long ago if she was going to be found at all. But she cared deeply about Jupiter. "Now that I know about it, I don't want to go back."

Sure, there were senshi that no doubt left the henshin pen well enough long, but the power was addicting. Being different than your peers was a kind of thrill that was indescribable. The night air in her face high above the city... nothing could replicate that. "Why don't you want to be a senshi?"

Ganymede had few clues about the whys and the what fors. All he knew was he'd been fine before all of this had happened to him, and now he was floundering. He felt obligated, and even though he hadn't wanted the obligations to begin with, he felt as if he were a failure for not living up to them. Transforming and skulking around, trying to find some meaning, was the best he knew how to do.

"I am not from outer space," he denied, whirling around to glare at Kallichore. "I was born here. I'm human. You're human. We're all human."

He didn't understand it, how easily some of these people could just accept being told they were something else, from somewhere else, when their whole lives they'd been here, happy and unaware. His house might not be in the best shape, but it was still home, and his mother and father were unlikely candidates for parents of the year, but they were still his family. They were important things to him, whether he liked his living situation or not, and he wasn't particularly happy with anyone coming in and trying to change that.

"I don't want to be anything but myself," Ganymede said. Supposedly this form was himself, but he didn't want to believe it. "I didn't have a choice to become this, did I? And why not? Because this is what I was meant to be?" he wondered, slightly sarcastic. "None of this is exhilarating. People die." It had been something he'd ignored before, in Elysion, when everything had seemed like a dream, but he couldn't pretend anymore. "What's so amazing about that?"

The senshi of madness tilted her head. Certainly their bodies were born here on the earth, that much was a fact. But that didn't account for their souls, their memories of places and times these bodies could not have experienced. She learned that much from Europa. "Your soul came from out there." she said, pointing to the sky. If she knew where Jupiter was, she'd be pointing in its direction right now. "Just like my soul did. We were born here, yes, and we have family here. We also may have family out there. Who knows, maybe you could have been a sibling of mine in the past? I have no idea." Leaning on her other foot, Kallichore watched as Gaymede became slightly upset.

"I can understand and appreciate how you don't want to be involved, but powering up like this, hiding or not, will still get you noticed. I don't know if you've fought any Negaverse generals, but most don't take kindly to senshi whether you threw the first punch or not." Battles and conflict was what got people killed. Several died on both sides during Operation Rota, and civilians die every night to the machinations of the Negaverse. "Yes, people die in this war. But people die by 'normal' people's hands all the time. Kidnappings, murders, rape, drugs... you name it. Even disease. Believe me, I am fully aware people die. I lost someone dear to me not too long ago. But that's why I can stay the course."

She turned away from him, frowning at her mention of Bradley. It was too soon to mention him again. "I can't prevent normal humans from killing each other, but you can bet that I'll do whatever I can to stop powered humans from harming innocent people."
PostPosted: Mon May 30, 2011 9:53 pm

The concept of souls being reborn wasn't entirely alien to Ganymede. He'd had his beliefs before his life had changed the same as other people did, and the idea of souls and rebirth had been one of them. That wasn't hard for him to understand or accept at all, but being from another world when he'd always thought and believed Earth was the one and only... that was a little more difficult to accept. He knew it wasn't impossible -- and hearing it now, he figured it was probably true, given what he'd become -- but it still wasn't an easy thing to swallow.

"I don't do this often," he said, motioning toward his outfit with one of his hands as a means of demonstrating the transformation. "It's not like I go around every night, hiding out and waiting for someone to find me. I don't even do it every week."

He was tempted to stop right there, to end the conversation and walk away. He didn't need some girl lecturing him about death and staying the course and protecting innocents. He knew what it was like to be a normal civilian caught in the middle of this madness. He'd been that civilian before, not long ago, and no one had helped him. He wouldn't let the same thing happen to anyone else if he saw them in trouble, and in some ways he appreciated the power he had to be able to do that, the added ability to protect, but anything else was asking too much of him.

"And how do you expect to be able to stop the powered humans?" he asked, crossing his arms over his chest. He didn't bother to specify which of the powered humans. He knew both sides had blood on their hands. "By killing them? Killing doesn't prove that killing is wrong. It makes it seem right. It doesn't matter who's doing it or for what reason. The more it happens, the harder ending this will be."

Gaymede was looking quite uncomfortable, which was something Kallichore had sort of prepared herself for. Truth be told, she was sputtering and completely floored the first time she heard the story from Derpraline and Albali. But the more she participated in the war, the more information she had that verified their stories. And she had been to the moon. Her moon, and that made it sink in.

The boy's stance on killing was not one she shared, but she could respect the decision. She shook her head at his insistence that killing wasn't right. She had successfully stopped Negaverse agents with her power alone - without having to shed blood. But since the one with the spear had drawn her blood, that was crossing the line. She would kill if the need arose. Whether or not she would feel terrible about it later was left to be seen. "How do I expect to be able to stop the powered humans?" she parroted, taking several seething steps towards him. She wouldn't strike another senshi unless it was for self-defense, and somehow she didn't think Ganymede was up for a confrontation. "I've stopped them before. I have more power now than when I started."

She opened her hands to him and lifted her arms as if displaying her fuku. It clung to her in tattered pieces, belt buckles and loose ends everywhere. "Killing is wrong in some instances, but necessary. We couldn't have stopped two World Wars without killing. We couldn't have unified our country without killing. And we won't be able to save the world without killing. It's as simple as that." Lowering her arms, Kallichore slowly walked past Gaymede again to stand on the edge of the building, looking out.

"And if I can get them to kill themselves, well... makes the job easier, I suppose."
