Lithia_Brandon It was early in the morning when Camelot finally got out of his house to go on a short patrol. At least his hours weren’t going to begin until a little later in the morning as far as the library was concerned. He could be up later than usual, which he would have to get more used to doing.
He found he tired out easy, and was ready for a nap early in the evening. The only way to alleviate that was simply train himself to get used to less sleep.
Nathan had actually been home this evening, which made slipping out difficult. Once the teenager had vanished into his room, though, the house was empty. Tony left Dogby on his own bed, rather than her doggy bed, all cuddled in and happy, before he left. He had to make sure she didn’t miss him and start whining, lest she tip Nate off to him being gone.
He had no idea Nate had already gone to do his own patrol.
Tonight, Camelot was patrolling around an empty street near one of the schools, humming to himself and looking around for any trouble. Remove Sassolite was out of course, wandering the streets looking for anyone willing to submit to her flirting. It went quite well really because who ever didn't fall for her and start kissing her died. It was rather petty of her really but well if they didn't want to kiss and live then they could die. Today she had been in luck though as it seemed the boy she picked was more then obliging to stick his tongue down her throat. So there they were, she was pinned against a wall and he was kissing her and fiddling with her top, it wasn't the easiest of clothes to get off and nor would she allow it but for now she was draining his energy and it was just so easy. He had nearly got her dress off when he finally collapsed and she stopped draining the energy. She held the energy ball in her hand for a while and then sent it up, then she started to do her dress back up. Really thinking he could have her in the middle of the street! Well at least she got a decent amount out of him. She stepped over him and walked down the street in search of her next prey. Lithia_Brandon Camelot felt a surge of something in the back of his head. It wasn’t like what he had already experienced, though he was coming to know these tingles and pricks in his mind as him picking up the auras of other powered up beings. Senshi, Negas, everything in between and, of course, people like him. This one was different to anything so far, but it was definitely not good. And it felt strong.
Even more not good, but in a different way.
Still, Camelot felt no urge to run the other way. His first thought was that, with this energy, there had to be someone in danger. It was his duty to protect them, if nothing else, so he ran towards the dark pulse rather than away.
He turned a corner and, literally, ran right into her.
“Oommph!” he said, falling on top of her before rolling away. “I-I’m sorry, I,” he looked up and stopped talking when he realized she was the source of the aura, and was a Negaverse agent. He shouldn’t be apologizing to them, right? Remove Sassolite wasn't overly keen on being bundled into and she really was somewhat surprised. She got up quick enough though and just stared at him. "What the hell are you?" She hadn't come across a knight before and right now if it wasn't for his power signature she would think he was dressed really badly for some party. However it seemed that this wasn't some guy going to a party. Though he did say sorry to her... that was odd. She called her bow and arrow before he even said anything and pointed them at him. "So answers please, name, reason of existence blah blah blah..." Lithia_Brandon Camelot watched her, getting to his feet slowly. He was tall and obviously older, though that wasn’t surprising to him. He just went about assuming everyone already involved in the war between senshi and nega was younger than him, and he knew better than to let that cloud his judgment already.
Teenagers really were the most dangerous things on earth, and now not just because they were rude and moody. They had super powers, to boot.
He saw the bow and arrow pointing at him and immediately lifted his shield defensively. It wasn’t exactly the largest or most impressive looking thing, made of wood and being a small circle of protectiveness, but it was better than nothing. And if she was aiming for his heart he had it covered. Keeping his head low, he watched her keenly.
“My name is Camelot,” he said, still finding it odd to say yet his instincts told him never to let his real name slip. Something prevented him from giving himself away, and he was thankful for it. “And you’re a Nega. If you think you’re going to hurt anyone tonight, you’re wrong. I don’t want to hurt you.”
He thought that sounded intimidating. Maybe she would just accept it and leave. Or not. Probably not. Remove Sassolite was just a little annoyed at his lack of an answer. "Camelot? And what are you?" She asked, her voice showed her impatience on the matter. "You can stop me hurting someone?" She laughed as they had managed to get a position where there was a really quite limp body a little way down the road behind him. "Turn around.... you can't stop me when you are already running late." She smirked, her bow she held tightly, playing with loosening the arrow and tightening it again just to play with it. Oh how she enjoyed playing with peoples lives! Lithia_Brandon The Page tensed. What was he? He was hoping others might have a better idea of that than he did. He was not a senshi, but he was something. Something like them. A knight, by appearance, though he didn't know how close to the actual title that was.
He didn't tell her, but tried to make it look like he was being stubborn, and not because he didn't know. It had to be in his head somewhere, he just had to find it.
His eyes flickered over his shoulder for half a moment and he saw someone laying in the street. So he had been a little too late to keep that person from getting their energy stolen. Hopefully nothing worse. His eyes moved back to Sassolite, his expression resolute.
The last thing he wanted was to get shot by an arrow. Or have his own energy drained. For all his experiences, that was not something he was too familiar with. And he would like it to stay that way.
"I'll stop you from hurting anyone else, if I must," he said.

Sass just laughed.
"Good luck with that one old man." She then moved, jumping up on to the closest building and shot an arrow or two towards him. She moved into the shadows and watched him carefully. It was like that game cat and mouse... if only she knew she was playing it with the father now instead of the son.
"Too old to move quick enough are we?" She taunted. She wanted to know what he was though, she hadn't seen anyone like him before and well lets face it she wasn't sure she wanted old men in this fight, especially on their side. That would just be a little silly now wouldn't it?
She jumped onto the next building along before landing behind him and shooting another arrow.
"Do you even know how to fight?"

Old man?! How rude!
"Let me tell you, little girl," he began, but she was already leaping away. Damn. She must have been much more practiced at that than he was, because he didn't think he would ever be able to follow her without some profound help. At least not until he practiced some more, and even then he was doubtful he'd make it look so graceful.
And he certainly wouldn't be able to fire arrows at the same time.
He used his shield to block one while trying to get out of the way of the other. It hit just below the side of his shoulder, glancing off the chain mail because he had been in motion as well.
He'd consider himself lucky later.
An arrow sticking out of his wooden shield now, the sad thing looking miserable enough without new damage to it, he looked around for the Nega and hoped the shield would survive long enough to be useful.
"I am not as old as you might think," he growled, but then she landed behind him. He was surprised and whirled around. The arrow struck him in the side, but once again his chain mail saved him. It didn't puncture all the way through, though it managed to draw blood it was certainly not as bad as it could have been. It was, however, enough to shoot adrenaline through him with a spark of pain.
He ignored her question, though the answer was fairly obvious. He didn't know much about fighting, but he did have some instincts that he believed would help him. He charged at her, swinging his fist at her, though he was aiming more with his shield than his actual fist, hoping to smash it into her face like he had done in a different battle.
If it worked once...

There was one thing Sassolite wasn't and that was stupid. He was older then her and larger and had a large wooden shield that seemed to be heading in her direction.
She moved.
Just slightly but quickly she moved out of the way just enough to not get hit by it as he neared her.
"You will have to be quicker then that." She called to him. She wouldn't fight him not until she knew what he was capable of. If he was on their side why did he have a weapon? Could he do magical attacks as well? Well there was only one way to find out and she was going to wind him up as much as she could.
"This old man, he played one, He played knick knack on his thumb, With a knick, knack, paddy whack, Give the dog a bone; This old man came rolling home"
Yes she was going to sing nursery rhymes to taunt him... and would slowly start changing the words of the verses.
"This old man, he played two, everyone pointed, laughed and booed,With a knick, knack, paddy whack, he broke a bone; this old man went crawling home." Oh yes she was enjoying this now, maybe she should become a song writer.

Camelot frowned as she ducked away from him, stumbling but finding himself unharmed. She wasn't fighting him, though she had tried to shoot him. Now she seemed to be taunting him.
Not nice, but not dangerous.
He pulled himself back a few steps, holding his shield in front of him and watching her with sharp, curious, vaguely confused eyes.
If she wasn't going to fight him, he wasn't going to attack her. He didn't know who she was, and though he had an arrow sticking in him, he was still cautious about fighting people wantonly. There had to be a better way to end problems than beat people up all the time, right?
He frowned at her rhyme, not liking it half as much as she did.
"Who are you, then? You're with the Negaverse, I know that." He was beginning to learn, from his recent encounters, that no one quite knew who or what he was. Some people had been able to tell him he was a Knight, but the concept seemed new, and not everyone had known about them before he ran into them. It must have meant that there weren't too many Knights around, or they were only just starting to wake up.
Which explained why he was suddenly one, despite his age. Which she kept harping on.
"And I'm not that old, damn it. Better than being a snotty little kid."

She jumped on a lamppost and sat on it dangling her legs while watching him.
"You don't even know how old I am gramps!" She laughed and jumped down in front of him again, bow and arrow still in hand. She was enjoying herself a little too much here.
"If you know who I am why ask? You haven't told me what you are so I am not about to go and tell you exactly who I am now am I?" She smiled at him and then walked a little closer to him.
"You must be rare whatever you are. I haven't come across something like you before. Do you know where you are from?" She walked around him, leaving space to move quickly if she needed to. After all she was circling her prey, she would have him soon enough for he didn't seem to be one who would like to fight without a reason, shame really.
"I wonder what your star seed would taste like..." She hadn't had a senshi one but she had heard of the power you get with eating it. She couldn't help but wonder what his would be like.

"You look like you're seven!" He called, huffy. He usually wasn't this responsive to people mocking him about being old, but now it was different. It meant she didn't think he was worth her time, as a fighter or as a Knight. That hurt more than some kids in the library calling him old for telling them to shush might.
"I know what you are, not who you are," he said, taking a breath and forcing himself into patience. He was the adult here, as she was so keen to point out to him. He needed to act like it. He watched her, tense, not wanting to get another arrow shot at him. If she hit him where he had not chain armor, it might not go so well for him.
He'd been lucky so far, and he knew it.
His eyes followed her carefully, but he tried to keep her from getting around him so she had his back open. He shook his head, creating a stalemate.
"If you're not eager to share information about yourself, I'm not likely to do the same," he offered, "I don't mean you any harm... my starseed?" Color drained from his face. He knew Youma ate starseeds, but he had not yet learned that Negas could, as well. To him, they were people, not monsters. Somehow, it was easier to accept from a monster than something that looked like him.
"I'd like to keep mine where it belongs, if you don't mind," he mumbled, lifting his shield up a bit more. "Hey, listen, we don't have to fight. You are not yet my enemy, despite a couple of arrows. You don't have to hurt people, and in turn, they won't hurt you."
Ah yes, the answer to all wars, clearly.

"Ah true true." She wanted more info though. She stopped walking and just faced him, sending her bow and arrow back. This was what she was willing to do to get the information she wanted. She would try and agree with him.
"So you want to talk? Fine. Go on then talk." She lent against the wall that was closest to her and looked at him as if she were waiting. If he wanted to talk then well he could talk she was listening.
"Why am I not your enemy? You are on their side whatever you are so why exactly are we not enemies?" Sassolite watched him carefully hoping he would slip up for a second and tell her what it is she wanted to know.

Camelot stayed wary, but noted that she no longer had her weapons with her. Where had the bow and arrow gone? He hadn't actually paid attention to Negas and their weapon, either not seeing them when they were summoned or too busy with other worries to really notice.
He watched her carefully, but lowered his shield, offering her a thin, nervous smile. Maybe they could just talk.
Or maybe she was trying to lull him into a false sense of security, and would shoot him the moment she had the chance. Either way.
"I support the senshi, yes," he said slowly, holding his hands up in a show of peace, "but I do not believe I have to do that by hurting anyone. Friends and enemies are all... relative, depending on what purpose you've been graced with. I am not a senshi, and I am certainly not with the Negaverse. But that doesn't mean I don't want to save you lot, as well."
He had never put these thoughts to words before, and really was only giving them true life in that moment, wrapping his head around an ideal that had been floating in the back of his mind long before he had become Camelot.
"I don't care about this fight you have with them. I care about the people you hurt while fighting it. And the lives you, both sides, don't get to live because of it. I believe there's a better way, for everyone. I don't want to further the trend of hurting and killing."
He regarded her for a moment, doubting a Nega would really care about his words. Until he could find some way to truly appeal to them, he imagined he was preaching to a brick wall. But that was not going to deter him. He had only just begun.

Sassolite took a moment to listen before something came to mind. Whatever this guy was he didn't come from the planets, or maybe he did, he hadn't told her. He wasn't wearing a skirt and loads of bows though so for now she could talk to him.
"I am guessing you haven't been part of this long? Fine you want to talk we can but you have to tell me things to." She watched him carefully, she wasn't about to let this go without getting some information out of him. Then she would kill him.
"Firstly do you even know why we fight the senshi?"

Camelot frowned. He didn't mind people knowing he was a newbie, usually, but something about this Nega pointing it out made his skin prickle. He felt condescended to, just by the passing mention of his inexperienced. And it was true. He was new. He didn't know much, at least not as far as the actual Knight stuff went. But he already had an idea of who he was, and what he was going to do with himself.
So that was a step in the right direction. More than some had at the start, maybe.
"I'm not too old in this, you're right," he offered. She was right. Give and get, that was the general way of things. He just had to decide what to give, and what information he wanted in return. If he wasn't too careful, he might make his own life impossibly difficult.
"I know that you two are at war," he said thoughtfully, "that you are trying to be rid of them... and they're trying to defend themselves. You take energy, and before that starseeds, from humans. People die because of this war between you two."
It wasn't the most comprehensive answer, but it was really all he knew. He wasn't trying to be secretive this time.

"So the answer is no then." Though if that was all he knew then that was at least something, maybe she could make him realise that the senshi were the invaders and actually they were trying to save this planet.
"I am guessing then you know nothing of Earth's history? How we held this world, it was ours and it was perfect until the senshi messed it all up. We rid this earth of the senshi that destroy it. We fight for Earth." She said it rather simply though the passion was in her voice. She never said why she fought most of the time in fact other then the fact that she well enjoyed it she rarely spoke about it.
"So you still think you are on the right side? I don't know everything that happened but I know enough, I saw enough. This was ours and we are taking it back. A few lives lost is nothing to what will happen if they get control of this planet." There that was the argument laid out simple like. She wasn't going to go into details.

Camelot raised his hand, cutting her off. His shield drooped a bit. He knew he was leaving himself open for attack, but he hoped she wouldn't shoot any more arrows at him now that they were talking.
Of course, he was probably going to say something she didn't like.
"Forgive me, but I don't care," he said, his tone measured as he watched her with his sharp, green eyes, "you might fight for your history, but you do not fight for Earth. That would imply fighting for the people that live her, which you in no way do. You fight for yourselves and your bitter grudge. You kill people, not just senshi, they kill too. You kill civilians. Each other. I'm not going to subscribe to either side of a war that means nothing to me, and nothing to the people suffering most because of it."
He watched her, his face set in grim determination, but with a strong, burning passion flickering in his gaze as he spoke. The more he heard, learned, was made to experience, the more he wanted to stop the senseless fighting.
"A few lives lost is everything," he countered, angry, "you can't throw them away because it suits your purpose. I would rather put my life to better use. To stop this senseless war, and help people like you, and the senshi, and my fellow knights find peace."

Sass just laughed.
"What world are you living in? America attacks the middle easy and civilians die, Germany attacked everyone and thousands of civilians died, innocent people. It's a war. You clearly don't know much about the senshi." Sass didn't know what had happened to some of her fellow negas but she knew something bad had happened to them and that senshi's were behind it. She knew not what but it was enough to use it back.
"Maybe you should meet the whole team you are fighting for. If you are fighting for life then you may want to be on your own side." The senshi don't care about life that much... it's war. Everyone knows there will be casualties." She was getting bored now.
"At least I now know whatever you are... you don't fight for anything which will get you killed.. shame for you I guess." She summoned her weapon behind her and then swung it round and shot it at him.
"I will look forward to the day you die."

Camelot scowled. He was not the kind of man that got angry in too much of a hurry, most days. Particularly now, when he was making a conscious effort to be more patient and open minded with everyone he ran into.
Some exceptions were bound to occur.
Particularly when said person he was annoyed with was shooting arrows at him.
He pulled his shield up to defend himself, trying to back away and find some cover, just in case. He felt the arrow hit the shield hard. It didn't penetrate all the way through, but it was a sturdy hit and he felt the force shake in his arm. Definitely did not want to get hit with one of those full on, he had decided, after this many near misses.
"I fight for everything!" He countered. He considered his options, then, keeping his shield in front of him, charged at her. Maybe he could disarm her if he tried, and get her to see reason without having to hurt her, or get himself shot in the process. Something told him, though, that talking simply wasn't enough.
"No one has to die, and I certainly don't plan on doing it any time soon."
