Algalon walked slowly through the open field, having just left the woods he stayed in during the day. The night was clear overheard, only a slight breeze rustling his cloak. The stars were out, calling softly to the stallion.

Stopping in the middle of the field, he tilted his head upwards, beard resting against his chest, and stared at the abyss above. Beautiful. Peaceful. Algalon gave a soft sigh of contentment.

The small, well, somewhat small, mare had her head in the grass. She loved this area. It was the sweetest grass she'd ever had before. Taking a small bite, her eyes fluttered closed, curls falling somewhat into her face. Taking a small step to get at another patch, the jewlery on her front wrist jingled softly, causing her ears to flick at the noise. She was unaware of teh male that had just came from the brush, her mind focused on other things.

Hearing a soft rustle to the side, Algalon shifted his gaze from the heavens to his surroundings. He was not alone. A glimpse of a pale mare caught his eye. Blinking a little, he walked over to her. "Greetings."

Her ears flicked slightly at the noise, head lifting from the grass, causing her hair to fall once more in it's proper place. She flickered her gaze over the stallion, almost curiously, before tilting her head lightly to the side. "Hello..." She said, her voice a soft whisper, still debating if he was good or if she should flee.

"I was not aware anyone else came out here at night," Algalon told her. He studied the young mare. She was quite a sight with her almost carnival-like markings and curly hair. "Do you also come to watch the stars?"

Bellezza tilted her head curiously, before smiling, very lightly, and nodded her head. "I do. Sometimes here, sometimes elsewhere. The grass here is the sweetest though." She stated, her head nodding gently, hair falling in cascades down her shoulders and back.

"I never... that is, it never occurred to me to snack while I stargazed," the stallion chuckled. "I am called Algalon. What name do they call you?"

Bellezza smiled some and shook her head a bit. "It is good grass. Especially on a great night like this, when it is somewhat we from the settling dew." Her head tilted up toward the stars, staring quietly at the stars. "My name is Bellezza... It is nice to meet you, Algalon."

"Bellezza." He said her name as if committing it to memory. "Do you come here often to see the stars? I can not recall seeing you before." He tilted his head up, following her gaze to the sky overhead.

She shook out her mane gently, before taking a small step forward, as if it would bring her closer to the stars. "no... Father kept me close until just recently... He's a good Papa though."

Algalon smiled, trying his hand at small talk. "What made him change his mind to let you be about on your own now?"

Bellezza flicked her gaze, locking it on the older male, before shrugging her shoulders slightly. "I'm not sure... I suppose because I have grown enough. By the way, your markings are very interesting." She smiled gently, her eyes flickering. "They remind me of the stars.

The stallion glanced down at his markings, nodding. "I suppose that is why I feel an affinity for the stars." He smiled at her. "Your markings are beautiful as well, much like a carnival. Are you a performer?"

Bellezza blinked, before shifting to try and see her body, curious. "Hmm... oh, no no. I'm not." She laughed gently, eyes closing.

"A stargazer, then, like myself?" Algalon asked, laughing with her. "Your friends must be as entertained as I am by your wit."

Bellezza smiled and wiggled her ears some, before nodding her head very lightly. "My friends are my family. After some trouble with another mare, my father kept me on a tight lease, so to speak. He's protective." She laughed gently.

"That is not a bad quality for a father to have. I am sorry you had trouble with another mare. Has she bothered you since?" Algalon asked, actual concern showing on his face.

Bellezza shook her head some, before shifting to quietly lay down, feeling better when she was close to the ground. "I have not seen her since." She stated simply, eyes closing.

Algalon moved to lie beside her, close enough that his cape partially draped over her, but still keeping distance between them. "Perhaps that is best then." He returned his gaze above, enjoying the peaceful silence awhile. "Sometimes I wonder if others see pictures in the stars as I do."

She blinked, tilting her head toward him, before looking back up, her ears flicking some. She let out a small sigh, feeling peacful. Her eyes flickering, she stared toward him once more. "Pictures?"

"Aye. The groups of stars form pictures, some of them," Algalon explained. He nodded to one grouping. "I see a kirin there and--" He nodded to another group. "--there is a pair of mers."

Her eyes lifting, Bellezza stared quietly, rather curious. She tilted her head one way, then the other, before blinking and nodded her head. "I... think I see the mers.."

Algalon smiled a bit. "Sometimes it takes practice to see pictures up there."

She smiled gently, nodding her head a bit. "I bet.. I'll start to look really hard now."

"They come easier if you don't try so hard. Just enjoy the stars and they will show their pictures to you," the stallion told her, smiling at her. He tilted his head a bit, watching her gaze at the stars.

Bellezza blinked, her eyes flickering slightly along the stars, before she shook her head some, and let out a small smile. "I hope so."

"Come stargazing with me again," Algalon invited, "and I'll teach you to see them."

Her eyes flickered, and she stared for a second, before nodding her head gently. "okay..." She smiled, before turning her eyes back to the stars.

Algalon nodded slightly, returning his gaze to the stars as well, comfortable in the silence between them.
