The lights began flickering on as soon as the sun went down. Grus sat on the top of someone's house in some neighborhood she had never been to in civilian form. It was higher up on a hill, one of those cookie cutter neighborhoods where every house was exactly the same, and all of them were filled with new families with kids the exact same age. A neighborhood where a kid could grow up with the same people around them their whole life, go to school with the same other kids for their entire school career. This particular neighborhood also had a great view of the city.
Sailor Grus watched the lights come on, starting with the small stream of headlights coming from, and the twin stream of red lights of brake lights going away. Then came the business building lights, and the street lights. All lit up with varying shade of white and yellow and red.
She sighed. She supposed to should be patrolling, considering that was her job now. But she just couldn't stop staring at the lights. She sat with her knees tucked up to her chin, feet facing toes in with her arms wrapped around her legs to keep her compact state. She would patrol...in five more minutes...

Niflhel didn't like these neighborhoods he sighed as he walked down the street. He was trying to look like he wasn't a threat for anyone that might be out. He wasn't a senshi or a negaverse officer so he hoped he could get away with walking down a resident street and acting as if he'd been in a play for the reasoning he'd been dressed this way.
He paused at a house that had a senshi perched a top of it. He felt her before he saw her, but he found her with ease. He tilted his head as he stood to face her, hands behind his back. "Hm, do you make a habit to sit on people's houses?" He asked curiously.

She nearly fell forward off of the roof when someone below spoke. She wobbled dangerously, arms and legs going outward in an effort to keep her from tumbling off the roof and into someone's flower bed. She stared down at the guy, heart pounding. Was she seen by a civilian?
Upon closer inspection, she saw a funny costume like her own, and the aura didn't feel bad. In fact, it didn't feel familiar at all. But he certainly didn't seem like the fighting type. Especially since he just stood down there and stared. She peered down at him, then stood, shaking out her skirts. With a careful leap, she landed on the lower garage roof and then on the ground. She walked over to where he stood with his arms behind her back. She paused a yard or two away though, just in case.
"Do you make it a habit to try and scare girls off the roof of said people's houses?" She asked with humor.

He looked like he was ready to try to catch her if she fell, a frown held on his face and eyes watching intently as he tensed. When she managed to catch her balance he sighed. Hands still behind his back, his chain was hung by his belt, and the symbols of Saturn decorated his uniform in the slightest.
"No actually." He said with a pause, "I don't, normally; because normally there's no one on said roofs to scare off of them." He gave a grin before shaking his head.
"What were you doing up there? In a neighborhood no less." He questioned as he looked around, honey brown eyes watching her curiously; even he knew they shouldn't really be here. With the families scared enough as it was of gang wars and police ready to respond anytime there was need. Not to mention the possibility of running into a negaverse officer, here made it much worse.

She looked back up at the rooftop, and then off into the distance toward the city "I was looking at the city. There's a good view of the skyline from up there. And the people are asleep. I checked." She replied mildly, keeping her hands at her sides She looked back at him, smiling. Sure, the parents nowadays were worried about many things. Terrorists, gangs, super suited kids running around wreaking stuff. That didn't keep them from getting their 8 hours or R & R.
"So, are you a good guy, or should I be ready for a fight?" The feathers embellishing her skirt and boots flitted in the breeze, and the red feathery collar hung from her back and looked like two very small, very useless wings. She figured he wasn't a bad guy, or he would have attacked already. But her new senshi form had tested her trusting nature, so she asked. Just in case.

Niflhel chuckled amused, "Ah yes, the city is a nice thing to look at." He looked back over towards it. "I'd assume good." He answered, "Perhaps Neutral. I'm not sure we knights have a side." He replied musingly.
With a pause, "That said I wouldn't help the Negaverse." He gave a pause looking at her, "Unless you want a fight, I'd rather not." He added before starting to walk, hoping she'd follow him.
"Are you a new senshi?" He asked curiously tilting his head. Aside from the obvious not-many-seen knights; at least from what he had gathered of Aurora's reaction he believed that this senshi was also new. In need of some rope showing, even if he was new to knighthood, he as Azzo knew enough to help beginner senshi.

She stared at him, wide blue eyes catching the symbol that was at the end of the chain. That must be his weapon she thought, looking at the chain. He said he wasn't from the Negaverse. He was a..."Knight?" She asked, looking back up at his face. But he had started walking, so she took a couple quick steps before coming up next to him, saying "Yeah, I'm a new senshi. Not like, first-day-out-new, but more like, three-battles-new. Like being a sophomore in highschool." She mused, trying to compare her status in something they both should have in common.
She went on to say "And I definitely don't want to fight you if I don't have to. That chain looks like it could really hurt if it hit the right spot." She glanced down at it again, and the symbol catching her eye again "Whats the symbol mean?" she asked, pointing at it as if he didn't already know it was there. "And what's a knight? I mean, what's a knight in these times? I know in history they were mercenaries that fought for kingdoms and had a code and all that." She looked up at the sky. "Are you here to help senshi?"

Nifhel smiled, "Yes a knight." He replied as he walked along, the chains jingled lightly as he walked. He paused to look at her, "I see. If there's one thing I've learned in my time of living in this city, be careful not matter what. Especially if you feel the negaverse energy." He'd only felt it once before; he hated that, he knew Youma since he was a Barren Pines kid but now that seemed lost.
He nodded, "Yeah, it probably does. I've pissed off a few youma with it." He assured her. Giving a pause when she asked about the symbol. "It's the symbol of Saturn. I am a page of Saturn, Niflhel to be precise."
He seemed to pause to think of how to respond to her question. "I believe we are the same now as we were back then. A knight's duty is always a knights duty. No matter what space and time, or fairytale you read a Knight always has a code of honor to uphold. At least that's what I believe."
Taking a breath and another moment to speak he nodded, "Mostly. As long as we agree on the views of the senshi we help them. I don't believe that actually helping the Negaverse would benefit anyone. That's not to say there aren't pleasant souls in the Negaverse, a bit misguided maybe."

Grus nodded, muttering "Ah, wakkata" as she took in all he said. So his planet was Saturn? "You got a planet that was very close." She said, pausing. She let the silent of the night take over for a minute before saying "I'm Ca- Sailor Grus." She fumbled, and her heart rate instantly picked up. She still found it hard to say "Sailor Grus" instead of "Castille" when she was in senshi form. Castille had been her name longer, but she knew it had to remain a secret. She mentally kicked herself for the slip up, but decided that it wasn't serious enough to really compromise her identity.
She looked at him quickly, then looked at the ground saying quietly "I think that's a good thing to believe. I don't think everyone can be all bad, ya know? There's good in all, you just gotta find it." she smiled to herself, feeling very much like a child with a silver lined attitude. Or at least, thats what everyone around her thought.
She tiled her head to one side, very much like a confused dog might. "So you Knights don't use magic? Maybe you could show me where to get one of those weapons. I'm pretty sure I need it." Her hands went behind her head as they walked, almost like she was reclining in a chair. It was an old soccer trick for when you had run to hard. It helped one take deep breathes and relax.
For some reason, Grus needed to do both of those right now.

A brow quirked, as she said wakkata, "Waka.... what?" He asked curiously. "Mhmm... I'm still piecing together the information. Though, I'd think most knights are from the planets that revolve around us." He paused and then added, "Not Stars, like most senshi are... I may be wrong, as I have a limited knowledge for now."
He nodded, "You're right, not everyone is. They just make bad choices, that doesn't make them all bad. They just need to be shown the way sometime. He had been thinking a lot about his grand father lately and this was no exception. "Though, the senshi are unorganized compared to the Negaverse. Even if those bad choices on theNegaverse's part lead to a much larger fight, I fear for the senshi..."
"Correct." Niflhel confirmed, "We don't, to my knowledge, have Magic. Not magic like yours anyways." There was silence between them as he pondered, "I... honestly don't think you can. The senshi I know don't have weapons, their attacks are weapons enough..."
He looked at her curiously as they moved into a nearby field. "What can your attack do?"

"Wakkata" She corrected him, saying it slowly. "Wa-ka-ta" It means -I understand- in Japanese.' She blushed slightly "I'm interested in Japanese culture."
"Mine is a constellation." she added. "So I have a whole bunch of stars!" She smiled, thinking about her first trip to her particular place in space. For a moment, it was like she could feel the sunshine again. They had moved to a field, and the lack of houses around made the night seem darker. Grus glanced around, and angled a couple of her steps so that the space between them shrunk. Dark wasn't her thing. "I don't know much about senshi..or the Negaverse..or really anything at all about this whole thing. My power doesn't even hurt people!" She tossed her hands in the air in mock helplessness. "My power sphere is feathers. My attack is lame." She said a little morosely. "I summon a cloud of feathers. They don't even hurt anyone. And I can't fight.."
Sailor Grus trailed off, crossing her arms in front of her more out of comfort than the cold.

Niflhel filed that information away for later. "I see, Wakata." He grinned, that was easier than Chinese at least. "Japanese culture does seem interesting." He agreed with a nod.
He nodded softly as she spoke about the fact her star was a constellation. "The senshi seem to have all sorts of celestial bodies." He said glancing up at the sky for a second, before bringing his eyes back down to the senshi of feathers.
"A cloud of feathers is distracting though, with a partner you'd do great. Actually, if you learned one of the many ways of defending yourself. Any martial art, heck you could probably even use dance; you'd probably do decent on your own. Don't underestimate yourself." He said looking sternly.
Niflhel smiled, "Not everyone is a fighter though, that's what makes the senshi so great. You have offensive and defensive. If you were to team up with another couple of senshi together you guys could do wonders."
There seemed to be a thoughtful look on his face, "Well what do you know about the Negaverse?" He asked stopping in the middle of the field, at least it wasn't pitch black the moon and the stars were slowly coming out as the sunset slowly sank with colors of purple, yellow and orange mixed into the dark blue of the sky. There seemed to be a light glow coming from his broach as well.

"I don't like....hitting people." She said "I can't punch or kick someone without feeling awful." And getting sick. she thought, but decided not to voice this second problem. Nifhel was a nice guy, and she really didn't want to freak him out or something.
"I did team up once with another senshi." she said, brightening up with his kinds words. "Kallichore was her name. We did alright. Course, she was a Super, she she was a lot stronger than me."
The paused after he asked her what she wanted to know about the Negaverse. What did she want to know? "Well." she drew out slowly "I know that they steal starseeds and cause a fair bit of damage sometimes. But I don't know who leads them. I've heard a couple names, and I've looked at the senshi database, but I'm not really sure who is like, the ultimate Negaverser. Or who we senshi follow as a matter of fact. It just seems like a bunch of kids chasin eachother around and getting into fights." The blue glow coming from his broach momentarily distracted her from her train of thoughts, as it lit up both their faces.
He was cute, she realized, and very nice to her. She tugged at one of the chunks of hair that framed her face nervously. "What is Nifhel?" She asked, "I don't mean to change the subject or anything, but if it isn't a star, or whatever the Negaverse is named after, then what is it?"

"Hitting people in defense is actually a lot different than just hitting someone to be mean." Niflhel explained, "I don't like hitting others either but if I have to do it to defend myself, or my friends it's better than someone I care about getting hurt. It's a lot different and you learn that, you can't feel bad if you're trying to protect someone." He gave a soft nod.
He smiled, "See that's important, finding a team and sticking with it. Even if you have to make it yourself. You're safer, you learn the people you're around and you learn how each other works and can act on that."
He paused, "From what I know, and I'm not the best with who leads what. There's a Queen that's suppose to lead every faction. The senshi have one, but I believe you all have not found her yet. The Negaverse's.... uh... I think her name is Beryl. There was a faction that was the parallel senshi and cavaliers. They were lead by a Queen Selena, however from my understanding she perished after the sleeping comas."
He paused when she asked what Niflhel was, "Niflhel is the Norse spirit world... and actually, I think the Negaverse are rocks basically, minerals. Some of them sound like that anyways."

"Hmmm, minerals huh? She thought about the few Negaverse she had met. Mica, Alunite..she had never heard of minerals with those names. Beryl sounded familiar. "I think I read about Beryl in the database." She said, hands going behind her back. "If I remember right, it said she was pretty powerful."
She shifted her weight from one heel to another, leg muscles protesting at standing still. She finally took a quick look around, and flopped onto the ground with a smile upwards at Nifhel.
"So you protect the Norse Spirit World? Does that mean you can like, travel there? Is it on Saturn?"
In her civilian form, Grus was one to ask many questions, all the time, in abundance. Some call her nosy, Grus just thought asking questions kept up good conversation.
